Incredible tonal cross-section and crystalline chime! All of my guitars ( 4 custom heritages-[2 solid bodies-2 jazzboxes], 2 strats, and a '69 Paul) sound remarkable throgh this gem! This amp not only has the clean tone in spades, but responds to up-front stompboxes like no ther! Great power, great tone, great looks,The BEST amp I have ever used!!

I bought this amp from a Guitar Chain that shall remain nameless. I had nothing but problems. It was great in the store. Sweet sound and that Blonde Tolex ahhh, classic. I took it home and put maybe 20 hours on it. Then gave it the summer off. Sept. had to replace 3 tubes. Oct. another broken tube. Then it comes back without a channel. Boy am I happy! Good thing I don't gig with this. It' all fixed now. Having to fix a brand new $1100 amp really left a bad taste. Quality is always the most important factor. Oh yeah no cover. Fender how cheap can you get? One final thing, the footswitch snaps when you engage the vibrato. It's some kind of electronic glitch. A little annoying in a recording situation.

Twin 40th.

This is the same amp as the current 65 twin reissue, except for the eminence speakers, the USA GT tubes, the blonde tolex cover and 40th. plate on the back of the amp. The sound is Fender and it is good. I don't like the fact that Fender does not provide a cover for the amp, that is cheap.

Classic Fender Clean

By lespaul87

from Central, PA

This is the amp in which all other "clean" sounds are measured. I purchased the 40th anniversary edition because of the unusual color combo and Eminence speakers. I'm not going write ridiculous things like " It's hard to get this amp to overdrive or distort".This amp is not made for that. This amp does what it was designed to do, provide an unbelieveable clean tone with tons of headroom combined with an incredible , natural tube reverb. If you want a dirty sound, use stomps like every other musician who has used this amp over the years. Having owned several other fender amps (64 Bassman, M-80 chorus, Several Hot Rod Devilles ) I will say the one thing that seems to set this amp apart is the way it brings the tone of your guitar out. I use a Les Paul and an SG and both of their unique characteristics really shine with this amp. I have the usual pedal set-up, Jekyl& Hyde, Tubescreamer, Big Muff, crybaby, delay, chorus, etc. and all work fine through this amp. I did have to use my noise gate, as there was some small noise, but it instantly vanished with the noise supressor.I'm giving this all 10's because if you know what this amp is and what it's capabilities are, you won't be disappointed.

As good as it gets

By Abe-a7beP

This 40th aniversary model is great, but it doesn't get any better than the original '65 twin reverb, which I own. It is the cleanest amp with the best combination of a nice warm crystal clear tones with the vintage sound that you can't get anywhere but with the original twin reverb. It is extremely versatile, you can have the cryspest cleans or you can have a more agressive sound. the reverb is awsome, it gives you the feeling you need to stay inspired for a loooong looong time. It doesn't get any better than this, I've tryed several other amps, but none has filled my needs like this one.

What???? OH OH OH OH!!!

I own this amp. I bought it and I own it now. I'm a big Mesa guy to tell the truth so I wanted something similiar, but easier to use. This amp will suck the paint off your house and give your family a permanent orange afro. WORD...

i bought this because it was different and i was looking for a very clean amp. i got both when this arrived at my door. it took several weeks to get it to my door but that's not the amps fault. this amp is the best built of any amp i have yet to own. the back panels could be sturdier. if you want distortion you better have a pedal because this thing doesn't really distort it just gets louder. i've had it turned up to 10 and it was super sweet with only a hint of distortion. it was a bit pricey i could have gotten a used twin reverb for a lot less but none of them would have the blond covering which is very nice. oh and it comes with a set of groove tube ge 6l6s change out the 12 at7s for 12ax7s though. at least that's what i did.

Top of the line! This amo ROCKS!!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

If you like the '65 Twin Reverb, you will like this amp even better. The Jensen speakers have been replaced with Fenders and they have a brighter more classic punchy sound. Of course, you can still get the warmer sound of the original Twin. Like the original, it brings out the natural sound of your guitar and, as always, sounds awesome with a Strat. plugged into it. If you play jazz, just dial in a little reverb and you're set! You won't be disappointed!! It's a must have!!

No comparison

By ParkerFlyRules

from Mt. Airy, MD

So, I went out an played with amps. Was pretty sure I wanted all tube, and pretty sure I wanted a Fender Twin, but I had an open mind. Plugged in my Parker Fly Mojo Flame and my Keeley modded pedals into a Vox modeling amp, was assured that the models were great, and walked away underwhelmed. Set up the 40th Anniversary Twin and it rocked my world. Modeling amps do NOT emulate this sound. If you want the Fender Twin Sound, this is the only choice you have. Give up, accept it and move on.

Just how real is a re-issue?

This is a great sounding Amp. I Only play through Fender Tube Amps, (A old 70's Pro reverb, A Hot Rod, and a Blues junior) depending on the situation. I decided to pay the extra money for this, other than the the other one with Jension speakers, because I guessed it would be better, and I liked the Tweed (The tubes are different too). I was shocked that it did not come with a cover, but that's petty. Is it better than the other one? Who knows, but I'm a happy camper. Put it this way, this thing's mighty loud, so if you want clipping, better get a distortion plus or something, or you will blow your brains out unless you are gigging. If you can't get great sound from playing this amp, I suggest you buy another guitar or, or just give up. Bur don't give up too soon. It's too much fun!
