I have been gigging with this amp for a bit over a year now and it is still running strong. I have used it in most types of venues this side of a stadium and it has kept up with two guitar players and a sometimes overzealous drummer with no problem. I run a MXR m80 and a crybaby wah in my chain and it handles it fine. The MXR really helps add some warmth to my tone, but even without the pedal it sounds good. I think that my favorite thing about this amp is that it can do pretty much everything that I need. I can take it to the gig and get the thump and growl that I want and then take it home and hook up my Iphone to the back of it and practice with my favorite songs. I think that it is a really good intermediate amp that would make most people happy. There are a couple of problems that I have with it though first, if you are not careful you will get a high pitched clicking noise when you play with your fingers so you really have to dial down the highs and high mids on this one. The other thing is that the casters are not mounted very well and like some other people have said you will have to put better anchors in there to get them to stay put. That is not that big of a deal ten bucks at the hardware store and ten minutes of you time and you will be back in business. The other plus is this amp is easy to move and since gigging musicians only get paid for set up and tear down (we play for free and you know it) then the quicker I get done the more I get paid per hour and that is alright by me.

I read all the reviews for this amp before purchasing (as I do with all musical equipment), and it seemed like a good buy. Don't get me wrong, it's not that bad. But for the price and the listed features I expected more.My old amp was a 250w and it seemed to pump a lot louder. This amp also clips like crazy whenever you try to play anything with force. You can adjust the head room to make up for it but that turns the tone to garbage. Another reviewer contributed this problem to the lack of a fan, which no one else had mentioned before I purchased it. Also, I've only had it for about a month and I already have to take it back in to get the input jack readjusted. The tone when it does play is great though; really top notch. If you're a light player, who doesn't need a ton of sound, then this amp is for you. I'm taking mine back up to the shop I bought it from today and see what they recommend.

    Not for hard hitters

    By FunkMetal

This amp has a great tone if you are playing very gently ... If you slap with any force or even play with any force it clips like crazy ... I am thinking of upgrading to the Bassman 350 , Does anybody know if that amp has the same issue ?

Great Amp!!!!! It depends on what style you play..

    By Anonymous

Well this amp for many years has been the best amp know well out there. This amp overrall is the best tone buster I ever seen but although I think that this amp is all about on what style you play. Play in a smooth style, it will sound better but play in a out of whack style and it will sound totally different. But Don;t get me wrong though last time when this system was lined out I heard funny sounds through the PA system....but who cares though what I could say is use the amp for style....not for diff geners!!!!!!!

    Nice amp, but ...

This is a decent bass amp, but a couple of problems. Most important, at any given time, a very annoying static-like, crackling sound sets in. After doing some research, the solution is to turn the tweeter off (down to zero). And second, the casters are a really bad trip. The mounts tore loose from the bottom of the cabinet after very little time went by. I had to use anchors for the screws ... they could have done better on that one.

    Great features/value

I was looking for a new amp that would be powerful enough to play small/medium sized venues and that could be transported fairly easily. Let me just say, this amp is exactly what I was looking for. It is more than loud enough. The controls are great, too. You can dial in virtually any tone you can imagine. For the price, you can't beat this amp.

    Great, Great Product

    By Silva177

    from Hartford, CT

I bought this amp a couple of weeks ago and I was lucky because it was Fender month. I ended up taking it away for $530. I got it home and I was just amazed! It was definitely loud enough, but could it work well with my keyboard in addition to my bass? YES! It made my keyboard sound great too. I don't have a very good bass, in fact it's kind of trashy. So I love all the EQ options with this amp, it really helps my bass to sound better. I have a firebox to record with and I used the xlr out, it sounded perfect. Overall I just think it's a great amp for the price

    AAwesome amp

    By ETSrocks

    from Maryland

I Have had this amp for a little over a year and it is amazing. Incredibly loud for how small it is. The guitarist in my band plays a full-stack Mesa Boggie(triple rectifier) and he tells me to turn it down when both volume knobs are a little before halfway. One problem is a couple weeks ago the high frequency horn started dropping out. Im pretty sure the warranty is still good so it will get fixed. Also if you play with a cd player hooked up, sometimes if you hit lower notes the left side(of the cd)will drop out then come back a week later. Weird. I Also noticed that you can put an extension cab and im am saving up for one too.

Sound OK, but get a friend to help you carry it

    By Jake

    from Oregon

Fender Bassman 250/210 Bass Combo AmpA surprising amount of low end from 2x10's, to the point that members of several bands complained, but that's an EQ/amp placement issue, as well as my preference for using low-as-possible voicings. You will use the casters. That ample power and low end comes at a price - this thing weighs a ton, and I am quite used to carrying heavy equipment. The handles are sturdy but do not make it easy to carry, as it lacks one on top. This amp sounds better than my 100w GK kickback combo, although it's overkill for small/medium clubs and can contribute to overloud stage volume, which is NOT desirable in the kinds of music I play. The sound is decent; I noticed a lot of nice overtones that I didn't get with the GK. I am not a huge knob-twiddler. If it sounds decent, I leave it.
