I actually bought the stage 1600 model. I bought it to better support the volume my band plays at. With 160 watts, there is no shortage of power, that is for damn sure. Plug it into an extra 4x12, and you're set. The only problem I have with it is the lack of versatility with the dirty channel. I get that classic Fender distortion, but when I want a little heavier tone, it just doesn't seem to comply. I've used many different pedals with is, including Boss Mega distortion and ProCo TurboRat, and I can't seem to get the tone. For anything less than hard hard rock or metal, this amp kicks a**. I'd even use it for hard hard rock, but it just lacks that extra little crunch for the really heavy stuff. What I would do ideally is run a Marshall TSL and this amp at the same time with an amp selector. So when you really want that heavy chunk, you throw on the marshall, but when you want the creamy distortion and the killer clean channel, play the fender. Overall, I love the amp, I just want more stuff.

Really, it's not a bad amp. It has a crisp clean channel, two channels distortion, and a whole load of effects. However, as far as quality goes, this amp lacks. Everyone I know (including myself) who has owned the 900, 1000, or 1600 have had theirs break. If your looking for a reliable amp, that has a little bit more volume, I'd suggest you look around first, or maybe even consider fenders tube combos.

Good for all...But Metal

By HonoredVillage

from wall, NJ

This amp has much going for it. The clean is very crisp and can be very bright or dark, depending on the settings. the bluesy distortion sound is, well, very bluesy and awesome. and to top that off, the amp is as loud as heck. I do not see any need for the 1600, maybe even this one is too loud, and the 900 is perftect. The negatives is that the metal distortion is lacking in some ways. If you dont need any hardcore crunch, than this will satisfy you. not putting it completely down because its good compared to some pedals, such as the distortion factory. another knock on this amp is the price. Most 100w amps are in this range, but there are a few amps, that are less expensive, but for everything else, definetly worth the price. overall, it is a keeper.

Very Impressive

By Anonymous

One of my good friends have this amp and it is good for just about any kind of music. We mainly play Metal and Rock and the distorstion on this sounds great. Sometimes we make up Blues riffs and this thing does it. I was impressed because the footswitch and the effects are nice and the tuner is helpful. Also because playing hard rock and metal I never thought fender's were too good for my kinds of music except for P and J basses but I was wrong. This is nice. If you want a nice amp then buy this.

Wow

I got one of these about a year ago after just over a year nit-picking every amp I saw. This amp sounds great, 3 great sounding channels and the onboard effects are awesome. I couldn't be more pleased.

Awesome amp for the price

By Telemaster-JYp3a

The Dynatouch III stage 1000 amp is a good sounding amp for its money. You can get lots of different effects and reverb. I play all different kinds of Rock and I like the two overdrive channels so I can have one set on light distortion and one set on heavy distortion. The clean sound is really nice on it too. I've got a Goldtop custom tele special and a standard ash wood tele that both sound really nice in the amp.

Great for Jazz, Blues, Rock

By Voxinator

from Florida

I bought it for the power. 100 watts through a Celestion G12T-100 sounds great. I like the "deep" and "dark" timbers for clean jazz tones, and "scoop" for distorion. I use the acoustic timbre with my tele for rythm. Effects are much better than expected, especially chorus and vibratone, sounds like the old univibe. No loss of tone at lower volumes, which is why I bought it. It does produce some 60-cycle hum by itself along with noticable hiss. Footswitch is great. Effects knobs are hard to read, labels are tiny. Drive channel one is very tub-like, cleans up nicely. Drive two is mundo-gain like the British amp company that Hendrix used. I have been using it for about a year now, while my others (tube amps) collect dust.

Standard Fender Spiffyness

By MrCat

from Poplarville, MS

Well, this amp is just awesome. The coolest thing is the built-in tuner. You just can't understand how handy this is until you use it. It would be nice if there was a button on the foot switch to activate the tuner though. Having two Drive Channels is handy because you can customize two types of distortion and have them ready to go with the push of a button. The sound quality is excellent, which is what I expected from Fender. The timbre filters allow you to quickly customize your tone while you can fine tune it with the Bass, Mid, and Treble knobs. This amp is definitely worth every penny I spent, and more!
