I actually bought the stage 1600 model. I bought it to better support the volume my band plays at. With 160 watts, there is no shortage of power, that is for damn sure. Plug it into an extra 4x12, and you're set. The only problem I have with it is the lack of versatility with the dirty channel. I get that classic Fender distortion, but when I want a little heavier tone, it just doesn't seem to comply. I've used many different pedals with is, including Boss Mega distortion and ProCo TurboRat, and I can't seem to get the tone. For anything less than hard hard rock or metal, this amp kicks a**. I'd even use it for hard hard rock, but it just lacks that extra little crunch for the really heavy stuff. What I would do ideally is run a Marshall TSL and this amp at the same time with an amp selector. So when you really want that heavy chunk, you throw on the marshall, but when you want the creamy distortion and the killer clean channel, play the fender. Overall, I love the amp, I just want more stuff.

Really, it's not a bad amp. It has a crisp clean channel, two channels distortion, and a whole load of effects. However, as far as quality goes, this amp lacks. Everyone I know (including myself) who has owned the 900, 1000, or 1600 have had theirs break. If your looking for a reliable amp, that has a little bit more volume, I'd suggest you look around first, or maybe even consider fenders tube combos.

I got one of these about a year ago after just over a year nit-picking every amp I saw. This amp sounds great, 3 great sounding channels and the onboard effects are awesome. I couldn't be more pleased.

Very Impressive

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

One of my good friends have this amp and it is good for just about any kind of music. We mainly play Metal and Rock and the distorstion on this sounds great. Sometimes we make up Blues riffs and this thing does it. I was impressed because the footswitch and the effects are nice and the tuner is helpful. Also because playing hard rock and metal I never thought fender's were too good for my kinds of music except for P and J basses but I was wrong. This is nice. If you want a nice amp then buy this.

Awesome amp for the price

The Dynatouch III stage 1000 amp is a good sounding amp for its money. You can get lots of different effects and reverb. I play all different kinds of Rock and I like the two overdrive channels so I can have one set on light distortion and one set on heavy distortion. The clean sound is really nice on it too. I've got a Goldtop custom tele special and a standard ash wood tele that both sound really nice in the amp.

Great for Jazz, Blues, Rock

By Voxinator

I bought it for the power. 100 watts through a Celestion G12T-100 sounds great. I like the "deep" and "dark" timbers for clean jazz tones, and "scoop" for distorion. I use the acoustic timbre with my tele for rythm. Effects are much better than expected, especially chorus and vibratone, sounds like the old univibe. No loss of tone at lower volumes, which is why I bought it. It does produce some 60-cycle hum by itself along with noticable hiss. Footswitch is great. Effects knobs are hard to read, labels are tiny. Drive channel one is very tub-like, cleans up nicely. Drive two is mundo-gain like the British amp company that Hendrix used. I have been using it for about a year now, while my others (tube amps) collect dust.

Standard Fender Spiffyness

Well, this amp is just awesome. The coolest thing is the built-in tuner. You just can't understand how handy this is until you use it. It would be nice if there was a button on the foot switch to activate the tuner though. Having two Drive Channels is handy because you can customize two types of distortion and have them ready to go with the push of a button. The sound quality is excellent, which is what I expected from Fender. The timbre filters allow you to quickly customize your tone while you can fine tune it with the Bass, Mid, and Treble knobs. This amp is definitely worth every penny I spent, and more!

Just got it and it's perfect. The tones are supreme and the timbre selection makes it so much more versatile than the Marshall equivalent. Sounds great with my 50's reissue tele. The effects are not only convenient but excellent. Good for the price. A+

Stage 1,000 review

By guitar jammer74

This is a very good amp. The sound quality is awesome. For my purposes only, I use delay and choruses which are quite good. The reverb section is questionable. They are in my opinion "wet sounding" or computer programmed- chip sounding. Not true sounding. I love the "bright","acoustic", "deep", and "dark" timbres. The tuner display is too small and should have a better tuning LED system. The reverbs and the tuner is my only gripe. Otherwise, this is a very good, loud, clean sounding amp.

I have been playing for 25 years

By Fenderoutthewinder

from hendersonville

I have been playing with all different sorts of fender amps and this has been my overall favorite. I was looking for something real loud, and this was it. I was looking for something with good effects, and lots of em, this was it I needed something small enough to transport from gig to gig and this was it.

Lots of Bang for your buck

By Tele/Strat Guy

Great amp for the money. Tons of Fender tone even if it is a solid state amp. I chose this amp over a Marshall AVT 150 simply because of the tone of the stage and a lot more useful.

a great amp

This is a great amp, especially for the price. It sounds very close to a tube amp. When I first tried it out in the store I thought it was a tube amp, because it sounded that good. The clean sound is very bright and natural with a nice shimmer to it. The Drive 1 channel has a nice bluesy/classic crunch. The Drive 2 is great, because it's very warm, and sustains great. I would difinetly recomend this amp if you are looking for a good versitle amp, at a great price. Oh, and it has a nice selection of effects to use to.

Good for all...But Metal

By HonoredVillage

from wall, NJ

See all my reviews

This amp has much going for it. The clean is very crisp and can be very bright or dark, depending on the settings. the bluesy distortion sound is, well, very bluesy and awesome. and to top that off, the amp is as loud as heck. I do not see any need for the 1600, maybe even this one is too loud, and the 900 is perftect. The negatives is that the metal distortion is lacking in some ways. If you dont need any hardcore crunch, than this will satisfy you. not putting it completely down because its good compared to some pedals, such as the distortion factory. another knock on this amp is the price. Most 100w amps are in this range, but there are a few amps, that are less expensive, but for everything else, definetly worth the price. overall, it is a keeper.

Not that great....

By TheBerzerker

from Massachusetts

Well I bought this amp back in July '05...I've had it for six months now (Dec '05), and it has broke twice on me during band practice. But the effects on the amp are great along with the nice footswitch. It's a pretty good practice amp, but if you want to crank on it, this isn't your amp. Marshall all the way!

Fender Re-events Themselves Once Again!

By Fender207

from Marion, VA

I went to my local guitar store to check out some new amps, because my other amp plain just has had it. The 50th Ani-Strat was my weapon of choice as i went from amp to amp (mostly Marshalls). This new Stage 1000 wasn't what i thought it would be. After pluging in, i was literally blown away. Switching setting from setting, i could dial in every tone. I had various tones such as styles of Van Halen, Cream, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and tones more. I was floating away from Fender, but it looks like another Fender product will find itself in my house once again.

Unbelievable!

By Steve-Hd6W-

Absolutely a fantastic amp! I am extremely picky and tried all brands on the market and grabbed this one. I have waited years for an amp like this to come on the market that would give me the response I wanted with reverb, delay, and sensitivity to the touch of the strings that this amp gives. The response from my tele's played thru this thing is unbelievable! The strings come alive and become more responsive to the touch. I like a super clean sound and a lot of sustain and this amp gives it. It's loud enough to play a medium size club without miking it, but more importantly, at home with very low volume, there is no tone loss what so ever. I am surprised it isn't more expensive. Tons of effects too.
