If ur looking for an amazing clean sound, this is the amp to get. In my perspective, fender has the best clean sound and this amp proves it. with its two 12" speakers it pumps out such a warm and clear sound. The great thing about it is that it is jacked! 160 watts! that is perfect for the concerts i play and when i get home i just put it on like 2 maybe 3. The bad thing is, the drive and more drive are not so good on sound, well they aren't horrible, but if ur looking for a good drive sound, i would advise getting an mxr double shot distortion, a tube screamer, or Zach Wylde overdrive box. all of them are good and there are a ton of others, but that is all u would probably needs, it has built in effects, and it has a loop effect so you can hook up ur stompboxes to the back of ur amp for no hassle.

my son was spending too much time on my amp so I got this for him. He likes it, he enjoys the effects and the footswitch is nice. you can switch the reverb/delays on and off as well as the other effect you choose. you can also switch between the 3 channels. I wish it had a master volume. The unit has 3 spperate volumes. The effects sound nice....lots of fun to play with. The clean channel sounds really good but the solid state distortion I didn't care for.... not an amp for hard rock at all. Maybe punk stuff which is what my son is learning or a mildly distorted single coil blues sound. For people looking at this amp I would suggest they also look at a Line 6 amp for about the same money.

- can handle fuzz bass really well
- decent effects
- great for live use
- huge range in tone
- loud as all hell!
- annoying line out
- fizzy high gain
- not great in the studio
- killing your eardrums
- live / stage use
I've used this for both guitar and as part of a bass rig, pretty versatile and defiantly loud enough for using any size gig, the line out can be a bit temperamental, but is almost indestructible! never serviced or repaired in about 5 years and its still going strong.

great all around amp. most veratile amp ever for the price. has everything you need. great effects. i couldnt ask for more. it is really the perfect amp. great cleans and distortions. i play all kinds of music that is heavy and clean. however there is just too much feedback with the distortion, even if you play heavy. so i need to get something else. no wonder it was discontinued.
I owned a pretty ancient stage 160 before this, i loved it, had a bit of an impulse at the shop and bought the 1600. First of all, the power box is very loud, so its pretty useless if you want to use it for recording, the clean is nice and very loud, as mentioned before the drives arent very good, a bit too fuzzy and not very clear. I suppose if you play around with the tones for long enough you might get an ok tone, but overall the amp is not really worth buying. Save your pennies and get a proper Fender. This thing might be ok for franz ferdinand though.
There is very little reason to not buy this amp. I bought it a year ago to replace my crappy Peavy 15 watt so I could start getting gigs and this is definately LOUD!!! I own a Black and Chrome Squier Telecaster and it plays beautifully. The distortion is a little difficult to get to sound really heavy, but the effects are excellent. My knobs were a little loose, but there is no issue there for me. For the price you're paying, it's well worth it.
I bought this amp about one month ago and have been using on a five night a week gig. It kinda would short out every once in a while, but then I just bought a new pedal cord and it was fine. This amp also has really cool features. The distortion was alright, but I really enjoy the reverb and the effects. For the price and size this amp packs a punch and is a great deal. So if your looking for a medium sized amp for a great price, this would be the amp to buy.
This amp is one of the best that I have ever used. I play some medium sized gigs with about 300 people and this baby knows how to take it to em'!!!!
I bought this amp a few months ago, and it broke on me. My friend bought the same amp, and the same problem happened to him. Overall it's not a good amp, the only good part about it is the effects. The OD on this amp is weak, and sounds muffled. Don't buy this amp.
This is a great amp. It's very versatile. The clean channel is Fender-sounding (that's a good thing). The two distortion channels are great. I can get everything from Clapton to Metallica. The effects are very good too. They are easy to control and sound great. I absolutely love this amp.
Great amp. The clean channel is exactly what I expected -- crystal clear and warm at the same time. The OD's surprised me. I anticipated needing an effects pedal of some kind, but after some tweaking, I doubt that I'll bother. And the power is awesome -- we run a fairly loud stage, and turning up to 6 or 7 on the amp is just right. Love the effects and the tuner. I'm very glad I made this purchase.
Let me just say I will never buy another Fender amp. This thing was TOTALLY unreliable. I was playing a show and it broke in the middle of a song. Something in the circuitboard shook loose and I had to get it resautered. And just a few weeks ago, a friend of mine had a problem similar to mine, except now his is totally messed up. Honestly, this amp is not worth the trouble. The built-in effects are definitely a plus, but the distortion's weak and the thing won't last longer than a year.
