When I went a music store to purchase my Mexi Strat that I'd been looking at for months and since I was looking for a compact practice amp too, one of the guys there suggested I try this little amp out. He said, "...you try that amp with that guitar and you'll love it, I promise." and I have to say he was right. I was impressed enough to buy it as well and I'm glad I did, it sounds really good, especially for the price, I walked out a happy camper and couldn't wait to let the guys that I jam with see how it great it sounded for such a little amp. So later on that week we all plugged in and ...mmm... can't hear me over our drummer ... okay, here's my suprise I talked about ... we plugged it into the 300W Makie PA using a patch cable from it's headphone jack and WOW!!! The effects were clean and this thing sounded as good, if not better, than some of the multi-thousand dollar amps that I've played through!! What a treat! Of course, it will never replace the Fender Dyna-Touch 1600, but I for one couldn't be happier! Great little amp and I don't have to lug the 1600 around if I don't want to when we jam.Way to go Fender, I remain one of your greatest fans.

I purchased this amp a couple months ago because I was looking for an amp I could take on vacations with me that had that "Fender" clean tone, and this seemed to have that. When I got home I plugged in my Fender MIM Stratocaster which is fitted with a DiMarzio Evolution bridge pickup, and I was disappointed. The amp's clean was distorted, and I don't remember it being that way in the store. The distortion settings were garbage, and the effects were not adjustable, which is no good since the chorus was harsher than I like it. I returned this amp and got a Vox DA15 instead, which not only sounds better but is cheaper.

Great little solid state amp

By Zile

from Westmoreland, NH

Before I go too far in my review, I want to say one important thing - TAKE THE BACK OFF THIS AMP. That one simple modification makes all the difference in the world with this little powerhouse.I bought this amp as a practice/travel amp to take with me on vacation and use in the house. In general, I liked the sound and the built-in features make this a nice little amp for practicing without getting bored with listening the same sound, and you can play your latest song to your wife with that particular sound that will make it sound perfect.Taking the back off this amp made the sound much better. The speaker gets to work better and it really opens up the sound. I made a short rear cover out of some pine to help avoid touching the transformer when I turn the amp on.The only thing I wish this amp had is an effects loop. The built-in effects are great but don't have much ajustability, just slow and fast.

Wow!

By Aaron-kLKlR

This is an awesome little amp. The models are great and the effects are unbelieveable! This little thing really rocks. I bought it about the first of the year to play my Squier 51 through, and it has really impressed me and all of my friends who have played with it. My buddies with other 15 watt amps are easily drowned out when I start playing! My only complaint is that it was on backorder and took about two weeks to get to me. I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for a small practice and jamming amp. Go ahead and spend the extra over a 15R. It is definitely worth it!

Best 15 Watt In the world by far.

I got this amp for Christmas. When I first plugged it in with my brand new Ibanez I was blown away. The Blackface setting is great for Blues. The British and Hot Rod are awesome for Rock. Tweed gives you a great vintage tone. This amp does not feedback at all. Buy It if you want the best 15 watt amp in the world.

great effects and amp sounds

By I love guitar

If you can't decide on what kind of amp to get, buy this one ,because it comes with all kinds of different amp types. Instead of paying 70.00$ for a single effect ,with this amp you get many effects for a low price. I play with my Epiphone les paul on this amp ,and it is the best sounding amp i have ever heard. When i play on it I mostly play on british and metal amp settings. The plug-in for the amp was the wrong plug-in for the amp, but i called this site and they sorted it out.

Not What You Think

I have owned this amp for more than a year and I play mostly metal songs like metallica. I also play punk and grunge. This amp however has the worst distortion ever!It is way to muddy and it buzzes. I would not really reccomend this amp maybe for a beginner.

Great Practice Amp!

By JustJammin

from Virginia

I bought this because I got tired of lugging my half stack back and forth from practice to home. I wanted something cheap I could set up at the apartment and practice, but didn't want to sacrifice too much in sound quality. This thing rocks for what it is. The only issue I have found is the clean channel tends to distort a bit in the low end. For the price, the effects, and general overall quality (not to mention saving my back), it is definitely worth it.

Good little practic amp. The amp models are pretty good. i use the Jazz setting to feed a Martin into the PA system which gives a sound that is a really warm and clear tone. The only complaint really is the quality of the pots. These are definately the cheap ones. Once you get things flowing though the modeling/effects pots the way you want - DONT TOUCH 'EM or it'll change or just go away. Otherwise, all is good.

Practice

By majic54923

This is a great little practice amp. The clean channel has that Fender sparkle. The amp models are pretty good. My favorite is the british with the gain around 6. The effects on it are decent, the only drawback is that you can't adjust the intensity of the effects. This is a great amp for beginners or for a practice amp. Disregard the review entitled "Disappointment". This amp is NOT a tube amp. It is a solid state amp. With that being said, it is a great little amp.
