Comments about Fender FSR 65 Deluxe Reverb 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
In comparison to other Combo amps this model actually carries the distinction to several other small and bigger wattaged amps with the 12inch. Used with single coils, or humbuckers,it stood really well as is also noticed it didn't drain the output using an extension speaker! I especially enjoy hooking up an extension speaker at a distance away for seperation in recording.Note: the shorter in length the louder the output! I've used it as a format amp using amp modelers and as a stand alone with pedals, rack equipment, and this amp is very much the "PRO" for many uses, the Tube rectifier doesn't really affect the performances at 22 watts it can get louder up to the full 10 spot and the breakup is something that takes after the amp has been used awhile consider the components have to be broken in but in the meantime the amp has a robust tone and the sound is in the speaker's typical of the newer modeled amps making this different from the Vintage amps! The Tweed is different from the Blackfaced, is different from the Silverfaced,is different from the Reissues! Great amp I bought 2 other '65 Reissues and am pleased that I did! The'65 Deluxe Reverb FSR "Western Wheat" I was fortunate to acquire is already sure to become a collector's as it already is great demand and especially difficult to find new!BTW this amp takes very well to different tubes in the preamp's V1 & V2 as well as the Reverb & Rectifier, will hold off on trying the Solid State Rectifier for the 5-10 watt boost and the bottom is pretty good now but sure to get better as time goes by I've had this amp going on 2 years soon, the only small drawback is the propietary speaker is mounted by 8 screws so if you have to subsitute, the run of the mill 4 screw(s) will not work but an extentsion will! And it drives multiples very well!
