The Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen puts 15W of power into a 1x8 combo amp in Fender's Guitar Digital Entertainment Center series. The G-DEC 3 Fifteen takes an exciting leap forward in technology and content with easy computer connectivity. An additional bonus is that many of the Fender G-DEC 3 amp's 100 presets and audio performance loops are created by the world's top artists and session aces.

The G-DEC 3's wealth of backing tracks consists not of generic presets and loops, but rather a stylistically diverse sonic smorgasbord of tracks created specially for Fender by top rock, blues, metal, and country artists and session players.

These include Eric Johnson, Charlie Benante and Frank Bello (Anthrax), Phil Collen (Def Leppard), Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy), Brad Paisley, Dweezil Zappa, Jim "Rev. Horton Heat" Heath, Keith Urban, Hatebreed, Nils Lofgren, Gary Hoey, Crooked X, Strung Out, and many others.

Consequently, the G-DEC 3 can be easily configured as an "all rock," "all metal," "all blues," "all country," etc., amp personally tailored to the user's own musical tastes.

The G-DEC 3 Fifteen also includes the exclusive Fender FUSE software interface, which lets the amp connect to a computer as easily as a digital camera, without need for any special adapters or hardware. Fender FUSE lets the user download and upload backing tracks, edit performance parameters, and swap files with a worldwide community of players.

This thing really needs to be reviewed for what it is. I think some guys are expecting the Blackface Clean sound to rival a '65 Twin. No. It doesn't. With that being said, it still sounds pretty good. All the models sound pretty good in fact. Match that with the band tracks and the ability to import MP3s and wavs and play along and you really have an amazing training tool.

The real key with this will be Fender's (and other company's) continued support. If new material keeps coming (I see that Hal Leonard is now releasing material) this thing will be fun and fresh for years to come.

The Fuse software is pretty cool. Mostly intuitive. Some features are a bit confusing, but within an hour just about anyone should have it mastered.

As I said earlier, I really wish I'd had one of these back in '85.
I think the features are pretty well layed out in the descriptioin. Basically, you have a nice, compact combo that has built in mp3/wav/midi player and pretty good amp/effects modeling that is completely computer controllable.
As well made as similar Fender gear. I have no fears that this thing will fail anytime soon. The fact that it's so 'electronic' means there's probably not much that's user servicable, but as long as nothing goes wrong that shouldn't be an issue.
I just don't know of another device in this price range that does what this thing can. This has to be the best learning tool - ever. If I'd had one of these 25 years ago, I almost hate to think how much better I'd be able to play now.

The band tracks are a lot of fun and cover a lot of ground. The modelling is certainly adequate if not very good. Perphaps not on the level of some other gear, but still really, really fun. I can't recall the last time I got a piece of gear like this that was just so much fun.

You have to get this, its the best practice and lessons tool out there!
Ok this thing is packed with features and Fender is right, this thing can be what ever you want it to be. I go to school at Musicians Institute and I put all of the songs I have to learn on here, slow them down, transpose, its so great! I also LOVE the metronome that is built in, it trains you because its super convientent to have it in an amp. Tuner, awesome.
For what it is, its fantastic. Don't expect the tone to be class A but its good enough for what it does. I don't care about tone when I am practcing. I just want the options of sound when I learn different songs.
Well worth it. I have had it for a day, and I already see improvement in my playing! GREAT STUFF!

    G-DEC 3 Fifteen

Comments about Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

Just got the G-DEC 3 Fifteen to replace my SP-10 practice amp. The practice amp came with a Squier value pack and has no features at all. I haven't had time to use all of the many features the G-DEC has (amp models and practice loops) but am looking forward to learning how to customize settings.

    Awesome!

    By Alan Itt

    from New Hampshire

Comments about Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

As I've discovered, you can't add on extra effects. But there is the room to add more effects if Fender wants to in the future. There will probably be an upgrage card in the works.
The options are great! I'm thinking of playing the overdrive effects through my Marshall to hear what crunchy new metal sounds I can get out of it. And maybe even get a sterio type sound from the two amps.
This is my first digital guitar amp I've ever owned. It's tough, and durable. My BC Rich has active EMG's, with a built-in preamp that sounds awesome through the effects on this amp.
It is probably the best piece of guitar technology out there for the money.

Killer Amp for Fun Playing, Practice & Rehearsal!

Comments about Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

It arrived on my doorstep today!I was not expecting it to be this good. The amp is built like a tank. Very strong, sturdy and a little bit heavy in weight. I like things heavy & solid, but wish it was a ittle bit lighter. It weights about 25 lbs and has a nice covering on the amp similar to a faux black tweed pattern. It is louder than I expected and has a fuller sound quality than I anticipated through the 8" speaker. Easy to use right out of the box and I haven't had this much fun since the pigs ate my little brother! Two guitar inputs as well as USB and AUX IN give you plenty of options for playing with a friend while jamming to the tracks. The carrying handle is spring-loaded and 'snaps' back into place with metal undersupport straps...not plastic. If you want more volume, go for the 30 watt amp OR just hook the HEADPHONE OUT to a larger amp, mixer, P.A. or home stereo for bigger and higher fidelity and quality, though I am surprised how well the 8" speaker sounds in general. The possibilities are endless with the SD Memory Card Slot capabilities to play WAV, MP3 and MIDI files. Create and/or Record your own tracks as well as download and share an infinite amount of songs, riffs, jams and music online. The included software allows you to tweak and create new sounds and setups, record and mix your tracks. I even found some freeware apps to easily create MIDI tracks that you can download directly to the amp.The headphone output not only gives you quiet playing but also functions as a stereo LINE OUT to hook to other amps, mixers, PA systems, home stereos, etc.The original cost was a bit pricey, but now that the price has dropped to 1/3rd the cost, it's a 'no-brainer'...get this amp now!I own 12 Fender all-tube Pro amps and have been a full-time musician for the last 27 years. I love this thing and I've only owned it for 1 hour!It comes with the standard Fender 5-year Warranty, a DVD with instructions, owners manual and software apps for your computer. The tuner is way cool and easy to use and despite my snobbish "tube purist" mentality, I fear this will be my grab & go rehearsal amp with all FX, Tuner, Presets and Setups ready to go and easily tweaked on the fly.I can't wait to get back home and start going deeper into the capabilities of the amp. Create my own tracks and record phrases and solos, etc., using the amp, memory card and all features! If you are looking for an amp to play live with a normal band, this is not your puppy. This is a designer amp with a special purpose in mind for fun jamming, practicing & rehearsal...this is NOT a live amp rig by any means whatsoever, though I could see playing at a small event or venue quite easily.

    G-DEC 3 15W

    By Ivan Jakic

    from Croatia

Comments about Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

As i said, i bought it for home practicing, but i wouldn't mind taking it to a small gig, the sounds are THAT good.
I am a pro musician, with original albums, and touring etc....and this little amp is IMO the best value for money on the market.
Incredible choice of tweaking, and using different sounds with different tracks.
Guitar practicing has never been more fun
I bought this amp for the sole purpose of practicing at home and at bedroom levels, since my main amp is a 40w tube monster, loud as hell.
This little thing does so much, the sounds are very impressive, the backing tracks also.
And with the Fender fuse, you can do so much more in real time.
Anyway, this thing makes it interesting to practice, and that what it's all about
Have for a couple of months now, everything works perfectly, seems very well built.
The value is actually the best feature. Tons of qualitly sounds, great backing tracks, online community, fender fuse program.....all in a great little package

    Fender G-DEC 15

Comments about Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

As I said, this thing is awesome. The main difference between the 15 and the 30 watt are line outs in the back of the amp, to run to a p.a. or whatever. But that isn't really an issue because you can still run out of the headphone jack in front.
This thing is just great. Why would you not run right out an buy it? I think about 90% of us never take our guitars out of our basements, rarely playing with a real band..now you'll never leave for any reason! Lots of cool presets..so far the blues and rockabilly are the most fun, and the Eric Johnson Cliffs of Dover sample is dead on!
This thing seems to be built like a tank...and heavy! You won't have to worry about pulling it over if you run out of guitar cord.
A little pricey...but well worth it in the long run.

    It never gets old

Comments about Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp really never gets old. I've had it for almost a year and I'm still finding out new features and such. I wish I had gotten the 30 watt though because there is nowhere to add sound reinforcement and it is pretty quiet on acoustic, even with the volume on 10.

    Awesome

    By Jbird-Nh3ns

Comments about Fender G-DEC 3 Fifteen 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

Ok, where the heck has this thing been all my life? Seriously. This is not only a decent amp, The Fender propaganda for this product shows that it can playback and record loops for you to jam along. Which is kind of cool. But what it doesn't show you is that the 3 series is also a computer interface that sends your guitar to the PC, it comes with a multi track recording software and a computer controller for the amp that has a variety of effects, amp emulations, and play along clips. Downsides, it's a little expensive, but considering what it can do it's worth it. Also, it was way too tricky for me to get it to work with the multi track software. I did eventually figure it out but it was not intuitive. Also, as mentioned in other posts, the included DVD is pretty much worthless. And online support isn't much better. Anyway, if you're a hobbyist or beginner I highly recommend checking this thing out. If you're semi pro this might help you out too to easily and cheaply experiment with gear to find the sound you're looking for.
