The Fender Mustang I has got a loud, lightweight 20W power amp design and a muscular 8" Fender Special Design speaker in its solidly built cabinet, so it sounds as good as it looks. The Mustang I combo comes factory-loaded with 24 presets built from 8 amp models and 24 effects, with tones from vintage Fender to modern metal. The number of amp models can be increased with its USB connection and the included Fender Fuse software, letting you completely reconfigure the amp any way you see fit. The USB connection also serves as a high-quality, low-latency audio output, making it easy to lay down tracks to the included Ableton Live Lite 8 Fender Edition software a breeze. Also included is IK Multimedia's Amplitube Fender LE software.

I being playing guitar for almost 11 years so I'm not exactly a beginner. The futures of this AMP are amazing, 24 pre-set FX PLUS the ability to Morph the 24 pre-sets giving you the possibility of over 50 FX. It has a built in USB module which allows you to plug the amp and Record straight to the Computer using the included software called Ableton Live 8 and Fender Fuse. Tottally Amazing.
The quality of the Fender Mustang is by far one of the best I have owned. The Mustang 1 Comes standard with an 8 "inch" speaker and 20 watts, If that is not enough for you but still want the Mustang futures? Fear not there is also a Mustang 2 and 3 which include more watts for more power and louder sound.The over all sound quality is Great 9/10. The Built in USB, Amazing 10/10. The Built in Sound Effects 9/10. The included software 10/10.All for the Low price you can't beat it.This AMP is far superior than the Fender Frontman R25 not because all the extra futures that the R25 doesn't have but simply on the Sound Quality alone.
Best Value... I can't stress it enough, Great Quality, Great Sound, Great Software. This AMP feels like it is worth 200+$'s

I purchased the Fender Mustang I 20W Guitar Combo Amp about 2 weeks ago. The amp plays OK and sounds OK, but for my likes, it has far too many adjustments, knobs, and too much stuff already programmed into the amplifier for my likes. I spend too much of my time fiddling around with the knobs trying to get it to sound right instead of playing the guitar.
Ordinarily, having a lot of adjustments would be a good thing, but so many of these adjustments affect not just one feature or sound but many features or sounds. This makes it difficult, if not impossible, to make a simple adjustment to the sound. I much prefer the Vox Pathfinder 15R amp which I own. It sounds just as good, or perhaps better than the Mustang I, and it's much simpler to adjust to get the sound that you want. It also costs about the same (a little over $100).
The Mustang I does have many different sounds already programmed into the amp and it's easy to select one of these sounds. The problem is that I don't like most of the sounds already programmed into the amp. On the few sounds that I do like, they may sound good for one or two songs I'll play, but when I want to play a different song, they don't sound good with that song and it's very difficult to make an easy adjustment to the sound on the amp.
In short, if you like to spend your time fiddling around with knobs and hearing different sounds instead of playing your guitar, then the Mustang I would be a good choice. OTOH, if you want a good sounding amp that is easy and simple to adjust that doesn't have all this other crap pre-programmed into it, then get the Vox Pathfinder 15R amp. The Vox sounds very good and you can adjust it to the sound you want in a couple of seconds instead of spending all your time messing with knobs trying to get a sound that you like.
I rated it 6 of 10 on features. For my likes, there are actually too many features, adjustments, knobs, etc on the amp.
I give it a 9 of 10 on quality. It seems to be well built.
I give it a 8 of 10 on value.

I really wanted a fender tube amp when I was looking into getting an amp to go with my Ibanez hollow body, but the cost was just too much. I looked instead at this amp and the vox valvetronix line. After trying a few different amps I finally settled on the mustang and have been happy ever since. I play mostly blues and jazzy stuff and this amp is great at dialing in those sounds. Spend a few minutes with the manual and set up a few good presets and you can easily switch between tones in seconds. This amp is louder than I expected as well. You won't be disappointed with this amp!

This amp is amazing! It has tons of presets and effects you can add to those presets. The software opens up a world of possibilities, if you can figure out how to use it.
Sound quality of this amp is just great. Everyone I talk to says they cannot believe an amp like this would cost around 100 gold.
I've always been impressed with Fender amps, I promise this will not disappoint! For at home practice or even recording, you cannot go wrong with this amp.

Great little amp, but Fuse software documentation is a little lacking. It requires one to "roll up their sleeves" and really dig into the application to make the best use of it.

I just started playing guitar, but played bass and used a Fender amp and lovedit. I was very impressed with the amp and the Fuse software is awesome. I was also looking at the Peavey Vypyr amp, but the fender seemed to have more of a rich clean tone I was looking for.

this is a great amp all around and i would recommend it to anyone! the only con i found with it, is that it takes a few days or so to figuire out how it all works with creating channels and all that, and without the ability to rename the channels, it will get harder to remember which custom channel is which, but thats hardly a problem! this amp is amazing and its a steal for how much you pay for it! and the fender fuse technology is also amazing and helpful as well so i would definately recommend this to all

It's a decent amp but there are very few settings that sound good and you can't Chang them from the presets to much.the clean sounds are terrible all of it has some kind of distortion. The metal and American 90s aren't bad but other than that I pretty much hate this amp. I would recommend for a cheap first amp

I was lookng for a small versatile amp to use at a beach place. I've been playing for 50 years and have a number of good tube amps and guitars. I just wanted something I could noodle around with in the living room.
This amp fits the bill perfectly. Small, nice fit'n'finish and design. This thing really sounds good to me. Pretty warm for a cheap circuit board amp, with nice bottom from the closed back speaker. Nice range of cleans and overdrives. The effects tend to be a little too strong but can be controlled using Fuse software.
I'm pretty computer savvy but found FUSE a hassle to download, set up, and use. Once you get it going, it does provide a wide range of some pretty good settings... e.g., I like the SRV "Lenny" clean.
Bottom line is this thing is a unbelievable deal. An amp at this price with this kind of appearance and range of sounds ?!?!?! Also have a Roland Microcube and like it, but you can't get the depth out of that little speaker... the Mustang is much fuller sounding and versatile... Amazing!
