I was initially not sure about an amp with an eight inch speaker having any semblance of sound worthy of a new guitar. Was I wrong! In much the same way that many audio products have become smaller and more profoundly excellent, this little amp is amazing. Right out of the box, within 3 minutes I knew that I had made a good purchase. It IS Small, light and does have an eight inch speaker. Close your eyes and you would have no idea that what you are hearing is coming from such a small amp. The Fender Fuse software that is provided by download from the Fender web site adds another layer of presets and is supported by the creativity of other users. An amazing value for such a low cost product.

I got this 2 months ago and at first was pleased, palying with the distorsion effects was neat, hardly noticed the buzz that comes with any of them. I was really impressed with the volume I get out of it.

Now I really wish I had waited for a Mustang III or better yet a tube amp. I use a Voice Live 3 and a cheap Zoom G1xon for guitar effects and these two are not compatible with the Mustang I, if you're looking for a strong clean palying sound.

The onboard effects really need a total off setting so that you can get rid of the feedback and buzz sounds coming out. For a Fender I am disapointed to not be able to get that clean sound. I will save up some more and either go with a Roland CUBE or at least a Mustang III or a small Fender Tube amp. If you still like listening to AM radio, then this will suit you just fine (read as scratchy, interference, and static).

Comments about Fender Mustang I V.2 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

The Mustang I has all of the sounds that the bigger Mustang amps have, you just need to use the Fuse software to access the full sophistication of the chipset. The 8" speaker is surprisingly good on the bottom end, probably because the cabinet is closed. I bought this amp to use at church for the effects, and instantly loved the portability and ease of setup. I can just plug in and play, selecting the presets that I've crafted during the week, and can either play through the speaker or go direct from the headphone jack to the board. Any sounds you've created can be saved in your computer and transferred to any other Mustang, so If you set up on a small one and decide to get a bigger one, you will not have to redo them, just download them to the other amp. The Fender community online has hundreds of presets that other guys have made to download, and if you have a sound you want to share, you can upload it for them to use. If you are looking for a modeling amp, I suggest you look at the Fender Mustangs.

Comments about Fender Mustang I V.2 20W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

Great little practice amp and great for home studio. The mod and rev controls are touchy, sometimes resulting in terrible hum unless set perfectly, once you get used to that its great. Haven't played with downloading yet, as I'm still getting to know what it comes with in the factory presets. Very loud for its size and great amplifier emulatuions.
