This is the amp I've needed at home for the longest time. It plays great with all my guitars, Fender or Gibson. Not each amp model is made for every guitar I own, but I found the right amp models for each guitar easily in a matter of minutes. This amp is loud for 40 watts, not noisy, but pretty powerful for at home play. I could probably play a small gig with it. The effects are nice, but if you want to run your pedal board through it, that works too. Really nice for the price. I had a Line 6 Flextone modeling amp 10 years ago, and this sounds so much better -- the tech has gotten so good for these Fender Mustang V.2 amps. For a small bedroom I never roll the master volume past 4, and that's too loud on my Les Pauls for my ears. I haven't connected it to my computer or used the recording and amp tweaking software you download when you get it, that's how good it is out of the box. I'm really happy with this amp. For the money it's great fun.

It is truly worthwhile to play through this amp before you buy it. Some may like the sound others will not. This amp has been recommended in its class for providing a wide range of tones and the Fender Fuse technology increases those greatly. For me, I was looking for a practice amp that could model a wide variety of sounds from clean to blues to hard rock. I found the Roland Cube 40xl to be a better choice. It did a better job in each of these areas than the Mustang.

Comments about Fender Mustang II V.2 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have several acoustic electrics but never had a amp that sounded good with them. With the fuse software this one works.

I bought this amp as a more portable rig over the 65W crate I've had for years. I've always liked the sound of fender amps and bought this to use with a tele, it works nice with it too :)
Working so well as a acoustic amp though was a huge plus.

Nice clean sound but if you want a screamer it will scream. Lots of punch for a little 40W amp.

Combine this amp with a Fender Stratocaster and you will get a great blues sound -- especially with the Twin Reverb setting.

Comments about Fender Mustang II V.2 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

The Mustang Series may never be outdone for price quality and sound. I have the Mustang 3 as well and both produce exactly the same sounds thru the Line output and USB and it is great sound at that. When I bought this amp first before the Mustang 3, I was just looking for a convenient practice amp but found that it recorded so well that I found myself building patch after patch. The first patch I wanted so badly was a great on the edge Twin clean. Never heard any amp produce it well except the original Twin by Fender. Here it was coming out of this amp and sounding so sparkly and tubey. There is a popping in the upper mids and bell like harmonics when you bite down with the pick. Exactly how I have heard it a million times on records and from my uncle's Twin in an old band we had. Use to play it for hours in his basement. IMO it is the most unique clean sound ever. Never could ever touch it with a Solid State amp, never until now. Since I like it with compression and chorus and half second delay and a tad of reverb it is untouchable and it would take the fx here with an original Twin to sound this good. The second amp I went after was the Deluxe reverb which can do anything from country to acoustic to bebop 50s and jazz. With phaser or flanger it can do most any style and has a biting clean edge that picks up where the Twin leaves off. The fx in this amp are really good and are stereo and sound great in headphones. Then I could not get over the Metal 2000 amp with a Greenback cab SIM. It was doing Van Halen. The Marshall 80s with the Ranger Boost Distortion before the amp sounds Fabulous. These amp Sims are acting just like the amps and adding boosters and Screamers really emulate amps in a real life setting. The factory presets are weak and show nothing that this amp can do but you really need the free Fuse Software download to see how nice and easy it is to edit from a computer screen. The Fender Fuse website has thousands of user patches to share. Great LiL amp

This amp is awesome. I was sure surprised when I got this amp and plugged it in. Awesome sound! Don't let the small size fool you. I was going to get the 40w with the 12" speaker but went for this one and it's more that what I was hoping for.

I bought this amp for my husband who is an aspiring metal band member! He is just learning how to play and was frustrated with the old amp he had. This new amp has made the sound sharper and cleaned up each movement he makes. He is doing much better since we got this. He loves it.

I bought the 20 watt Mustang for my son and was amazed at the quality and variety of tones available using the Fuse software. The Mustang II takes it up a notch with 40 watts and a 12 in speaker. This is loud enough for small venues and practices. The only real drawback is the lack of a display showin gthe preset name- have to go to the Mustang III or up for that but shouldnt have to. Most amps are a one tone pony - the Mustang can do anything from clean, jazz, blues , punk or metal

Just received the mustang today. It will grow on you the more you fiddle around with it. Play my les paul through it sounds good, clean, and loud enough... BUT... I bought an orange crush LDX20 a month or so ago and to me it has superior sound in a much more compact package, but lacks USB and a couple of bells and whistles the mustang offers. Waiting on my squire modified custom that's on backorder, I think the mustang will be just fine for it. Overall, a good, quality amp.
