I already owned the Mustange IV and i wanted something small and light to take to shows where they have low stage volume and big PA Systems. This is it! Its my practice amp at home and my go to amp for Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth...If you meed an amp that will do everything thats light and powerful that you plug in the power chord, the footswitch, and guitar chord that fast and easy, this is it. I love this amp and I will buy another if anything happens to this one. I can do without the big stereo effects that the Mustang IV has but the two buttom FS sucks compared to the good four button FS with the tuner in it. If your doing alot of gigs do yourself a huge favor. Buy this amp and a 4 button FS, install a really good speaker and you are done. Its really that good!! I have been giging hard for over a year with the two of mine with no trouble. And every band i play with is also impressed with the sound and simplicity of these amp. The kicker,,,I bought mine for [$] and put a Swamp Thang Speaker in it. Now its twice as loud and sounds great for less than $350. I play super clean country and western swing so i needed a speaker that doesnt break up.at all. I know you will not find an amp.that sounds as good or will do more than this amp will for less money. Great jod Fender!!!!!!!

I had my first gig with my Mustang III last evening. I play in a cover band, mostly blues, oldies and rockabilly type of songs. I've made five presets that I use, and they are all very subtle. No modulation, just basic amp-settings with some reverb. In front of the amp, I have a compressor, a Blues Driver and a Tubescreamer-type of stomp to give some extra beef through solos. This amp just rocked! And I got some really good bluesy tones from the amp.
In a setting like this, I believe that not a single person in the crowd would notice that this is not a tube-amp. And would they care? They were there for the music, to dance and have a good time, and my guitar sounded like a guitar.
I don't care about modulation effects, so I haven't tested them. The advanced amp settings let you control sag and bias, which affects the behaviour of the simulated amp.
You can only have one stomp box effect at a time, so you can't combine, let's say, compression and overdrive, and that goes for the post and pre amp effects.
I've ordered the four-button foot switch. It's hopeless to use the two-button switch in a live setting, so I had to go to the amp every time I had to switch to another preset. The amp got a little dirty during transportation and rigging up, so I have to get me a cover for the amp.
The amp delivered. Volume at 5, and I had a perfect monitor that filled up the stage and was loud and clear through vocals, drums and bass.
My amp has that digital noise that you can hear especially on clean settings. In a gig setting, that noise was covered up with everything else that was going on, so I don't think anybody noticed. But that noise is bugging me when I play alone on clean settings.

Comments about Fender Mustang III 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
So I have owned and used this amp since August of 2011 and waited to write this to give it a fair review. Out of the box I played with it until I had blisters because all of the preset options are just so cool. Programming is pretty simple. I have tweaked all of the presets that I use to get just the right sounds. The software gives you so many options and is fun to play with (hours go by playing with this thing) but really you hone in on a dozen or so sounds and work off of them. For those unique songs/sounds you really want, it has 99 presets to store them in and I just name them by song. The price point gives you a lot of effects with a solid powerful amp. Rarely do I need to go above 5 or 6 on volume to fill the room (without going through the PA). It's a single 12 and you know going in it's for medium sized rooms and not for a staduim. The 4 button footswitch is a must have. Moving presets is easy to align with the set list from weekend to weekend-- a few seconds is all it takes to move from song to song. Built in tuner is good.
Bottom line is for the price you get more effects than you will ever need and at a great price and enough amp/power to sound good.
The only complaint is the little bit of buzz on the clean settings. A pain in a studio, but not noticiable playing live and the only reason to not give it 5 stars.

Comments about Fender Mustang III 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
looks like it might be great... would be nice if it included a manual... the 2 page "get started guide" tells you to plug it in and turn it on... great info.
I think fender might include the "advanced guide" so that I can actually learn something. I will review again when I find this advanced guide.....
oh ...and the "included" softwear.... NOT included. Having to go online and download it is not what I would call "included"

Comments about Fender Mustang III 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
Up until now, I've only played acoustic guitar in a bluegrass band so I have no piratical experience for comparison. That said, I am not at all disappointed with my decision to go with the Mustang III. I've had no problems understanding the menus and I find the Mustang III sound is cleaner and tighter then I would expect from such reasonably priced electronics. It can also get quite loud if you like that type of thing. My one complaint might be that Fender does not include a cover so I had to purchase that separately from a different vendor because I could not find one at the MF website.

First off, I'm totally addicted to this silly amp. Down side is that I'm also heavily addicted to stereo.
I know, I know; I should have bought the IV. :>(

Comments about Fender Mustang III 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
Really, really like this amp. I was looking for something that could be used in a small venue with a microphone (church). Had been using a 40W Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and it was just too much. Loved the warm tube tone, but could never turn the volume any higher than 1 or 2, so it sounded bad. Also, was difficult to manage that amp with many different guitarists using it every week.
I am EXTREMELY picky about the tone, and hated most of the solid state amps I tried. Thin and digital. This is one of the only ones I found that could replicate warmth and full tube sound. Excellent. As an added bonus, it has a huge range of amps and effects to choose from, which means all my guitar players don't have to bring anything but their guitar every week.
Mustang I and II do NOT have the same flexibility and capability as this one, so even if you do not need 100W, I would still recommend this one. Sounds great at low or higher volumes. This one is very intuitive to set up and use. And get the 4-button footswitch. It allows you to play just as if you had 3 pedals and a tuner sitting in front of you, or have tons of presets to cycle through.
Love it. Very happy. Does not work that well with regular analog pedals, but that isn't why you get this kind of amp. If you want absolute tube sound with analog pedals, buy them. This amp is perfect for what I wanted.

Comments about Fender Mustang III 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
This is a solid good sounding amp, but it has too many features and options that take a musician off focus. If you get to the computer part, you might end up spending more time on your computer than your guitar. I traded mine for a vox valvetronix 80 which has many featrues but is more basic to use and more capable of being a basic manual amp if you want.

Comments about Fender Mustang III 100W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:
Fender hit a homerun with the Mustang line of amplifiers. The Mustang III is a LOUD and great sounding amp with lots of useful settings. Nice compliment of Fender and British modeling. Found it suprisingly easy to navigate through the Fuse programming. Worth a listen.
