I own a version I of the 40W SS Mustang II amp which is a terrific little machine but it needs a pc and some knowledge to get presets, store them, manipulate and use them...

This new V2 of the Mustang 4 is simply magic... after breaking in the speakers the tones one can get from this just by tweaking the existing 100 presets is astonishing.

I have played mine for the last 2 weeks (bought it New (box opened) from Musician's Friend). Initially I had a little hiss which I traced to my lead... replaced this with a Fender Custom shop 18 foot lead and moved my amp to my large room and wow, this is GREAT.

The V2 versions of these amps have some minor tweaking of some of the Fender preset amps (Deluxe '57, Twin Reverb and Supersonic all sound even closer to the real thing)...

The new effects are fun to play with... I have tweaked the Loud as Leeds preset and a few others and used the new effects, including big fuzz, green screamer, orange box and intelligent pitch shifting... all fun to use and for a competent pro a bonus over needing so many pedals.

I took mine to an Open mic in the Hamptons last week where they gig with about 20 different pedals. One of my mates has the Mustang III and we were both tweaking his amp (v1) and mine (v2)... the version 2 and 150 watts is REALLY LOUD. The one real pro musician at the gig ha ha'd our amps until he tried the Hendrix presets.... our Red House Blues, Little Wing and Hey Joe presets sound spot on and he preferred ours over his manufactured with his pedals and Marshall etc.

Loudness - I have a Bernie Marsden SE (PRS) which has really high output Pups and wow on most settings I have my guitar volume at 2 and the Master on the amp at 3 (it is really loud). Using my low output Pups on my Strat (Vintage Noiseless) I can put the volume on my guitar to 8 with the same 3 setting on the amp master...

At the gig in a 1000 sqf pub we were told to turn down the volume (the master was on 4 and the volume on 5, guitar on 5 on a Gibson).

Speakers - I broke in my speakers by playing on lower volumes for 6 hours each day and then put a tone through overnight on higher volumes... all sounds good now.

The one big advantage of the Mustang III-V over the II is the on-board LED display. It takes some work to learn how to tweak the various knobs for the mod/amp/delay/reverb etc but after a week or so I have got it down pat (without using my pc).

The 4 button foot-switch is a nice touch and the ability to remove the various effects with each preset adds some flexibility.

Tone - okay it is not a tube amp, but really who cares... I have played many one or 2 trick pony tube amps over time and with this I get near perfection just from the basic amp presets, especially the Fender clean presets.

This thing weighs around 50 lbs and was quite clunky to move up my stairs in my house.

I bought this and my Mustang II from Musician's Friend who have given me outstanding service on every item I have bought.

These V2 amps are really popular and have some wait time to order (demand is huge) but they are worth every penny and the wait time.

I knew that I was getting into a modeling amp when I purchased the Fender Mustang IV, and was really excited to have all the different presets, and the effects modeling, and the ability update the amp, and I thought that being a Fender the sound quality would be a step above, boy was I wrong. It is next to impossible to get a straight forward clean sound out of this thing. Even when you have all of the effects and other extras off, the tone is still completely and very noticably digital! It just killed me that I couldn't get a clear tone out of the amp, it has something missing in the fullness of the sound.
As far as the presets go, there are many, but very few that sound good, and of the ones that sound ok, the quality of the tone is mediocur at best. I wouldn't recommend using this amp professionally at all, now if you're a kid jamming in the garage and want a bunch of different noises to play with, and want to be able to plug into the computer and record, or join the on-line community, this would be great for you. But if you're a serious player and want/need a clear and crisp tone, leave this one alone. My advise is know what you're getting into when you by a modeling amp, no matter who it is made by!

    700(500) and you get :

    2*Celesstion 75W 8ohm Speakers
    USB + Stereo jacks output
    Solid State Transistors

Recording with a Microphone clung to your amp is getting Ridiclous Nowadays!
simple get your sound with both MultiEffect and Amp effects and connect the USB to Fender Fuse Software or connect a lineout jack to PC line in.
    its done

2 speakers : 2 speakers gives some chorus to the sound and a wider angle to the sound .
2 speaker CAN Deliever wider Ferequency Ranges IN ONE ACTION.which 1 Speaker amps cant afford easiy.

Solid State Transistors : Squeeze the sound with everything you can . and dont be afraid for the Tubes life period . MOSFETs give 80% of tube sound but with lesser price , and a great Reliability . personally i prefer Digital Electronix :)

Remember friends ... The Sound is constructable :)

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Cover band guitar players listen up - this amp is fantastic!

After years of fronting bands that included a guitar hero and playing mostly rhythm, I found myself as the only guitarist in a 4 piece classic rock/R&B/blues cover band and gigging a lot. Needed to upgrade my gear fast to get the sounds and FX needed and on a tight budget. Over the last year and a half I went through a combination of different amps, volume pedals and modelers and wasn't totally happy with any of them.

Checked out a Mustang IV at a music store then called Musicians Friend. I think I'm done!

The amp sounds and effects are dynamite and with minimal tweaking of EQ/gain and FX to my personal preferences I'll be good to go. The presets really sound good, unlike those that come on most modelers. No need for extra EQ's and massive computer editing etc. Went with the presets for a rehearsal the first night I got it and it sounded great. Changing amp models, fx and parameters manually is easy with no need to deep edit on the computer unless you want to. Still need to set up the 4 button foot switch but sounds easy enough.

I think the Fender amp presets probably sound the best (go figure!) but they're all good. The last 17 presets are just the amps themselves so you can easily create your own presets from scratch.

There are 17 amp models that include 7 Fenders, 2 Marshalls, a Vox and a Hi Watt that I can think of off the top of my head. I'm playing classic rock, blues and R&B covers. What else do I need? In most cases those are the amps that were used on the records and the modeling is really good. I'm not a metal guy but the more modern hi gain amps sound good to me too.

Great sounding amp. Plenty of power and celestion speakers. Easy to dial up sounds needed for any style song. Lose pedals and pedal board for smaller stage foot print, minimal cables and set up time. Great price. Great deal for all you get with this amp!

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

The amount of basic amps tones that this amp offers is great. Then add the effects and all of the modern input/output options make this an amp a force to reckon with. I use this amp with a 5 piece band and have no problems cutting thru or having enough horsepower to punch thru when needed. In particular I liked the 2x12 open back cab that this amp offers. The overall warmth and bass response are very impressive. Furthermore, I love tubes amp and I've owned many over the years. When it comes to having almost everything you need in one package this amp will do it. Pure tube freaks need not apply; however, when playing live with other instruments, you would be hard pressed to say this amp is lacking in the response and feel that come from tube driven amps.

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

The Mustang IV is not a small amp, it weighs enough to make it difficult to move between gigs, but it's worth the effort to play with a dual 12-inch combo amp.

With 100 presets and some great sampling of classic amps such as VOX, Marshall, Silvertone, and nearly all the vintage Fender amps of the past such as the Champ, Princeton, Twin, etc- if you can't find a tone on this amp you never will on any amp. It's just that good.

If you want to customize tones further you can create your own and store them to the amp if you own a computer, and take the time to download the Fender FUSE editing software. Attach a USB cable to the AMP and CPU, and you can download your own custom tones.

The headphone jack is handy for practicing at home without disturbing the neighbors, and this amp has all the power you need to crank out some serious volume.

The only downside I can mention would be out of 100 presets, a lot of them you'll never use, as a few are useless trashy tones someone at Fender thought were cool, but they're far from it.

With the 50 tones that are on this that still sound great, you can make some fantastic music on this thing.

Put it on a clean mode, add your own pedals, - just like any other Fender, it sounds great.

The price is right. There's competition from Line6 and Peavy but their amps are not as nice IMO.

If you are considering a modeling amp- look no further. This one will meet and then far exceed your expectations.

Awesome Amp! It was more than I expected. Although it takes some practice adjusting settings, there's virtually any sound you can get out of this thing with some practice and tweaking. Definitely recommend buying..

I have had just about every Half Stack,Combo brand out there over the years. Tube,SS ive had them..My band has been playing more and more shows this year in and out of clubs and i wanted to try a all in one amp for shows. This thing is just the trick for me.I have a Fender twin for clean with chorus and delay and a 5150 rock tone for dirty. I use the 4 and 2 buttonswitch for my set up. With those i can do anything.I mic up this amp on stage and have the vol at 3 and rock with the other guitar player in the band and he is using a all tube half stack. No problems hearing myself. And i like the tone better than my last amp the Orange CR120c. Great amp Fender!

Comments about Fender Mustang IV V.2 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have owned many amps over the years, combo's, heads, SS, hybrids, all tube, from an array of manufacturers. Ever been in the situation where you love the amp, but then you tend to find weakness'so for one reason or another. I purchased a mustang 3 v2, modded it to run a marshall 2936 212 cab, what a fresh breath of air, no loud hissing, sweet cleans, great amp models and no pedals all over the floor, waiting for one of them to play up. Now purchased the big brother mustang lv. So no cab to lug about. Fender have really nailed the sounds out of these amps, they just don't sound sterile like most SS amps, they even react like a tube amp, cleaning up if you roll of your volume on guitar. Imo they are under priced. There defo on a winner with these amps, reliability? Who knows, guess to early to tell with V2s. Some YouTube shootouts with original classic vintage amps, people have been unable to tell the difference. Well done fender.

I Love this Amp! I just started playing again after about a 9 year hiatus. My gear was in sad shape so I decided on some new stuff. This amp is way more than what I need at this time, which gives me some room to grow. It has plenty of pre-programed tones. The only drawback is navigating through the presets with just he amp and footswitch is minor. The "Fender Fuse" software is easy to use (my desktop way exceeds the recommended requirements). I got a killer deal on a used 2 button footswitch and EXP-1 pedal which also improves the use of this amp. I recommend this product. The features and price make it a great value.

Works perfect in our band. Most important it is not too heavy to haul around. The price was more than I wanted to pay, but in the long run it was worth it.

Bought this for my son for Christmas. Played with it a little to make sure it works. Love the 4 button pedal that comes with it. So many ways to tweak your sound. It may take a while to figure it all out, but the possibilities and combinations of tones, reverb, chorus, distortion, and whatever else you're looking for are endless. This is also a very powerful, loud amp. Love it!
