Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
I have been playing for 25 years. I only use this amp at home and it is awesome for that. If you don't have a pedal board, you will enjoy this one. You can get just about any sound you want. You can even use the built in effects (reverb, OD, delay, etc) on the clean channel if you use the optional foot switch. I like to use the built in reverb pedal on the clean channel and use my pedal board. Get one!! You won't be sorry.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
After playing solid state amps and rack-effects for two decades, I got a little Fender Vibro Champ XD from a pawnshop and loved the tube tones so much I decided to get a grown-up tube amp. There aren't too many good available tube amps sitting around in my corner of Montana, but I tried all I could in my price range including a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Mustang III (tho not a tube amp), and Marshall 5 Series. None really suited my needs as a weekend warrior and occasional small gig player. The Deluxe and 5 Series have to be cranked to ear-splitting volumes to get good tones out of them and I would have needed various stomp boxes, and the Mustang didn't have those authentic tube tones I was looking for. After extensive online research I rolled the dice and ordered the Super Champ X2 HD and matching SC112 cab untried through MF. This is the first factory-new amp I have ever bought.
Right out of the box I had concerns, as the sound was a bit harsh on both channels and the models all sounded a bit, well, wrong. But after installing FUSE, tweaking the settings, and breaking in the tubes and speaker, all those concerns melted away. I am now getting fantastic Marshall and Fender tones out of this thing, as well as pretty good metal tones. As for the cleaner blues/jazz models, they are killer – that classic warm tube clean with basically no harshness or breakup until the main volume is up past 7. The FUSE software really lets you tweak everything just the way you like it. I have fiddled endlessly with the parameters and my sounds just keep getting better and better. I love how FUSE shows a mockup of the amp fronts for each Voice, so for e.g. when you are on Voice 12, your FUSE screen on the computer looks just like an 80's Marshall. The head and cab version yields a super-punchy low end. This amp is ideal for a lot of styles including blues, jazz, country, alt, and classic rock. Extreme metal players who play nothing else might be better served with something else.
Despite its wide range of grade-A tones, this amp is not ideal for the touring player – key controls like Mid and Presence are only adjustable via FUSE, so for at-gig tweaks you would need a laptop to fully adjust for the room. Obviously, technophobes should also look elsewhere, as this amp only really comes alive through use of the FUSE software app. But for players like me who want 100% authentic tube tones, wide variety of sounds, great sound at all volumes ranging from the bedroom to the small club, punchy low-end, and affordable price, this is as close to perfect as I can imagine. Oh yeah, and it's light-weight and easy to carry around. LOVE this amp and cab!

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
Ok, first off i have been playing for only two + years. I have now owned many amps and many guitars. This one continues to impress. I have had this amp for 6 months now and I want to tell you what i think. I put at least an hour on this amp everyday. It is durable. I currently have it sitting on a peavey 112 sx cabinet loaded with an eminence texas heat. The stock tubes have been replaced with a combo of JJ's and tung sol 12ax7 and re biased at 40%. The addition of new tubes was not a necessity, but an improvement. The sound quality is better than a marshall haze 40, egnater tweaker 15, vox valvetronix, fender mustang, line 6 spider... These have all been in the same room with the champ. Side by side these amps have been put to shame by the x2. I cant imagine getting better tone for the price. (you cant) This little guy is remarkable. With the fuse software I can make this thing sound like anything i want. BUY IT! This is the only home studio amp you will need. Insane beautiful cleans, to red hot hellish distortion. Tweed to metal. The modeling is the best i have heard. I have heard them all. Also the clean channel works great with pedals. Not that you need them. If i lost my equipment this would be the least inexpensive and the first to replace.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
I bought this amp as a replacement for a FM 65 that was beginning to die on me. I thought I would use it for practice as well as in my home studio. When I first hooked everything up, (I bought the 112 cab for it too.) I noticed it didn't have the sound that I wanted. It was okay, but, I decided to hook up the computer and download the fender fuse software and started playing with the controls. turns out that most of the amp models have the midrange wide open. dial that back, and tweak the other knobs and you get a really good imitation DDR or Twin or Bassman and anything else you want! I got a great clean DRR sound and use that extensively with pedals in front of it and it does the Job quite effectively!
If you think that it's 15 watt rating is weak, think again, this thing is loud! and unlike the Blues Jr and HRD this amp doesn't distort! I had the thing on 7 and on the way there, never got to the saturation point. At first I didn't think I would use it on the gig, however, I find that I have used this amp for a number of gigs. Since I mic my amp anyway, I have plenty of power to spare. the effects sound really good for digital effects. Overall, Fender has scored on this amp. I think this head with it's mated 112 cab makes for one small compact and powerful package. I would suggest to fender that they revamp their combo version and replace that 10" with the 12" speaker. If you want a great amp that's lighweight, powerful and has plenty of tone, then give this head a try. I think if you tinker with it, you will find a number of sounds that will make you grin for ear to ear. Fender did a great job of moving the platform for this amp to the Mexico plant. In doing so, they have revamped the amplifier and made it into an amp that can be used anywhere, unless you're playing stadiums and even then with a mic on it, you never know?
give this amp a good try, I think you will like it.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
The Marshall and Vox settings sound a lot different than on the Super Champ XD. The clean sounds on the X2 are great...tons of great options. For crunch-time I prefer the British overdrive sound (#8) on the XD...but the Marshall and Vox sounds on the X2 still sound sweet...I'm not complaining. Great deal...the most versatile thing around.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
An excellent small tube amp at this price point. I don't play live with others very often, so cannot speak to the applicability of this amp at a live gig, but the sound is outstanding for an amp at this price. The 15 amp voicings give a great amount of versatility, although a few are chintzy and I would not use (like 90s metal).
Still, extremely pleased.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
A sweet blend of classic fender tube tone and modern modeling tech in a small but powerful little package. I also own the previous version in the combo. Great little amp as well but, the little baby speaker doesn't let the amp breathe. Had been running that with a 2x12 cab with 25 watt celestion greenbacks and it opened right up and sounded like a boutique amp. That and a Boss Blues Driver became my go to rig. Wished it came in a head and didn't want to hack up the poor little guy to cut it down. Then one day I found this little gem.
Soundwise it is very similar with minor differences in a couple of the stock effect sounds but still great. Might even like it better haven't had it long enough to be sure yet. One may think, "oh 15, watts, what am I going to do with that". This is more than just a bedroom beauty, I have used it in rehersals and a number of shows and it holds it's own just fine. The 12" ext cab offered probably helps too, compared to the little speaker in the combo but, I know with my greenbacks the sound is sweet.
The amp is very versatile with a wide range of amp sounds and effects. It has a sweet clean channel as well as the many choices of the drive channel. Sure it doesn't have a 1,000 different amp sounds and a 1,000,000 different effects but if you can't find it here you likely do not know what you want yet.
Versatility, affordablity, portability, and great tube sound. This amp can't be beat. Now for big venues with large stages where you need more coverage I do slave a 100 watt Marshall 1/2 stack but the SuperChamp x2 is definitely awesome. We tried this head with my cab side by side with a number of high dollar low watt heads and this one put most to shame and held it's own with heads that cost many times more. A lot of other guys were kicking themselves for the money they dropped on amps that this amp smoked for this low of a price. Anybody wanna buy a hot rod deluxe?

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
A great Fender amp. I bought one of these at GC last week and ive been so busy with it i havent even touched my supersonic. I havent used the computer features, or many of the amp models, in fact i have only really used the basic - tube side of the amp. Crank it up and it screams like a champ should, you can then adjust the volume on your guitar , like any old tube amp. Thats really the reason i bought it - to have the standard, basic 15-20 watt Fender 6V6 amp sound for not a lot of money. Im sure the other features are fine, if thats what you need but im here to tell you its also just a great little old school champ, without any of the added gadgets.

Comments about Fender Super-Champ X2 HD 15W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
I've been playing guitar for almost 25 years, I am not a pro, but just a casual player who likes to play covers, and write and record some of my own music. I play mostly blues/rock.
I normally play two different guitars through this amp, a Fender american select mahogony body strat, and an epiphone flmaetop dot.
I prefer mostly a clean sound, with a little gain/od and reverb, which this amp is perfect for. I have yet to setup the fender fuse program and change any of the settings yet, but out of the box I find the old fender amp models to sound really good, but I don't really use any of the higher gain voicings.
I wanted a low watt, affordable tube amp for that tube sound that has a natural sustain and reverb that you just can't get with a solid state, even with amp models. Well this fit the bill, and them some.
For the price, paired with the SC112, it really is a bargain. Real tube tone, with so many extras, you just can't beat the price.
I highly recommend you try one of these out, and if you order one, don't worry about shipping. These came to me in some of the toughest cardboard boxes I have ever seen, and well packed, so no worries about damage.
