OVERVIEW

Acoustic amplification done right!

The single-channel Fishman Loudbox 250W Triamped Single Channel Acoustic Amp delivers exceptional tone, clarity, and power at high volume levels. The Loudbox has an ultrahigh impedance input with an EQ section comprised of bass, treble, midrange, plus brilliance controls. Anti-feedback circuitry (notch and phase) keeps acoustic feedback under control. Other goodies include a spring reverb, mute switch, effects loop, and an XLR output. A convenient 3-position kickstand lets you tilt the amplifier back as a floor monitor. Inspired by high-efficiency commercial sound reinforcement systems, the Loudbox's 3 power amplifiers deliver cleaner, less distorted sound through its speakers than any acoustic amp in its class. The highly efficient 8" woofer delivers maximum low end with clarity and definition while a 4" polypropylene midrange driver covers those crucial midband frequencies. 2 soft-dome neodymium tweeters ensure a detailed and musical treble response. Each component is housed in its own sealed sub-enclosure.

This is a great amp. Its small size fits easily in my car ( I gig with it twice a week). More importantly its sound quality with my Yari DY78 equipped with a Martin Gold plus (same as Fishman Natural Matrix)is outstanding ( I also use and love Fishmans Aura for exceptionl live sound)The claims made by Fishman and Guitar player (who reviewed this amp 6 months ago) about this product are true and even somewhat understated. Every "band mate" that has heard this rig has been blown away.As terrible as it may sound my new amp and Aura arrived literally 2 hours before a Gig and altough I was reluctant to risk it I decided to bring the gear with me and try to use it (fall back plan was to plug in via DI into the board). I had 20 minutes to setup and dial in( the amp was still in a sealed box)it took 10 minutes to dial in the Loudbox and Aura ( I had downloaded the manuals from Fishmans site prior to my delivery and read them. Needless to say I love this amp and pedal.

When I saw this thing on the internet I was blown away by the specs, but when I actually played a demo of it in a local music store it sucked. It was decent enough to play through but the Fender acoustic amps blew it away at a lower price. The sound was not very clear and didn't have the depth the Fenders had. If you want something loud and don't care about tone then this one is for you.

Lets my playing come through

I played through this little beast and what an amp. Not only does it amplify better than anything else I have used, it amplifies ME. MY TONE, MY GUITAR. No coloration, no "fender sound" - No -"marshall sound" - this is an amp for players who get their tone.

Great Amp, a little heavy for its dimensions

By Seeing Blind

from Seattle, WA

I owned this amp for two years now, taking it on the road to all my shows. It is a strudy little amp, but it is pretty heavy for it's size! It is really loud and stays pretty true to your guitars tone, so if you have a really nice guitar it is perfect. I recently sold this one to get a fender Acoustasonic Ultralight (seperate head and cab)- I like the tone a lot on the Fender, but be careful, it will really bring out any mistakes you make in your playing. The Fender is nicer in the weight category as well, the speaker is 22 pounds and the head is 7.6 pounds and comes with a carrying case!

I bought one of the at Guitar Center and am very pleased in every way. I love the simplicity of the unit and the sound is great.. I really makes my guitar sound awesome. I compared a few different amps but this was the hands down winner.

Great Amp, if you have a great guitar

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This amp is amazing. I've owned mine for about 2 years and I wouldn't play through anything else. I play small shows around town and this amp really puts out the volume. It is simply brilliant. The only thing to be careful about is what kind of guitar you play through it. If the guitar or the guitar's electronics aren't at least mid-range in quality then you won't get a very good sound. I know that seems a little obvious, but just believe me, play a high-end Martin or Breedlove through this thing and you will be in love, play a crappy guitar through it and you'll want to trash it.

AMAZING AMP

By Thunder0084

from Kingston, Ontario

I play this amp a lot. I use it every night of the week and 2 practices a week with my band. I had a Crate amp and thats exactly what it was good for is a crate. I can't understand why somebody wouldn't be impressed with this amp. I use it in concerts and I don't baby it at all. I run it hard all night right in front of me as a stage monitor for my guitar. I never get feedback from it. It has amazing response and excellent tone. Thats where the tri-amp system comes into play running a woofer for bass, mid for mid range and 2 tweeters for the highs. there is no other amp that even compares to it!!! FISHMAN did and exceptional job on this amp.

Bang for the Buck

By KingsFan

from Sacto

Simple front panel with 250 Watts of Pure Power and Punch. This amp is clean, crisp, loud and has exceptional tone quality . It does not come with all the bells and whistles, but remember it is an acoustic amp. I tested several acoustic amps and this product rates with SWR, leaving Trace sounding small and boxy. My point...Who needs all those useless adjustments, especially if you're paying extra for them? If I could change anything it would be to add a 2nd channel and chorus(thus my 8 rating on features).

My Pedal Steel AMP forever!

By Pedal Pusher

from Albany, NY

I play pedal steel and this amp shines! Just what I need, single channel, reverb, powerful. Tho' not a lightweight, it has the specific requirements I needed for my rig. Clean clear crisp, tight, powerful. I can't say enough about it. Compared to the competition, it is far and away the best in class.

Best sounding acoustic amp on the planet

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Ive been playing my Ovation acoustic for 25 years through several acoustic amps and never have I heard one that gives my guitar that sound I have always craved. I ended up just running direct through a 15 band EQ. People were always thrown back by my acoustic sound(without a acoustic amp). Can't wait for them to hear this little monster at the next gig! Super sound! If your looking for that professional concert sound, look no further.
