Comments about Fishman Loudbox Mini PRO-LBX-500 60W 1x6.5 Acoustic Combo Amp:

I was previously playing with a Fender Acoustasonic JR for the last 10 years, which was a solid amp that did it's job, and was a great acoustic amp 10 years ago before this Fishman Amp and other amps were on the market.

As my Acoustasonic amp is slowly wearing down from years of use, and starting to feel more and more bulkier as I get older and have to haul that 40 lbs amp around, I decided to invest in a new amp, since acoustic amplification technology has improved in the last 10 years.

The Fishman Loudbox Mini was perfect for what I need! This thing is so small and light weight, around 20 lbs and only a bit larger than a lunchbox, it's so easy to throw in the backseat of my car carry it to my gigs without straining my shoulders. The sound of this is way better than my acoustasonic, it's very crystal clear and natural sounding with amazing tone, and amplifies the unique sound of each guitar that plugs into it instead of coloring it. Also, don't be fooled by the speaker size, there's still plenty of bass response coming out of this tiny amp.

I play background music in many restuarants, coffeehouses, cafes, and this thing does the job perfectly, and is plenty loud enough for these venues. I haven't tried the vocal channel in a live situation before, since I'm an instrumentalist, and I haven't tried this thing in a noisy bar yet.

The only drawback, though, is that the leather covering of this amp scratches, tears, and dents easily. This is defintiely not road worthy unless you use a case for extra protection. I recently came back from a tour across the East-Coast, where I just threw this amp in my trunk. I guess the friction of the amp moving around in my trunk and guitar cases rubbing on it for many hours caused all sorts of tears, dents, and scratches on the leather binding :( So definitely get a case for this.

This is a very good acoustic amp for home and small gigs. You can use it for a monitor and DI to the FOH. Makes whatever guitar you have sound better.

Comments about Fishman Loudbox Mini PRO-LBX-500 60W 1x6.5 Acoustic Combo Amp:

It was backordered, then got lost in warehouse, but the customer service folks are terrific in making things happen correctly. This amp is really portable and easy to use and especially good for acoustic singer/songwriters becuase it's got good strenth and a warm sound (reverb, too). It is easy to use, and only weighs about 20 pounds. Very happy with it.

As always, dealing with Musicians Friend, was a pleasure. The customer service rep/sales guy was very courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating.

The amp is awesome. Incredible, solid sound in a compact amp. Would HIGHLY recommend both Musicians Friend AND the mini Loudbox!

Comments about Fishman Loudbox Mini PRO-LBX-500 60W 1x6.5 Acoustic Combo Amp:

I was always looking for and amp that would reproduce the sound of my acoustic instruments just like they sounded with out and amp. And this one is the very best I have ever tried and now own. And have had all my friends try, and like me they love it. The demand was good enough to put them on backorder.

Comments about Fishman Loudbox Mini PRO-LBX-500 60W 1x6.5 Acoustic Combo Amp:

This amp does a great job of duplicating sound in a small venue. I play through a Taylor 814CE and it does not detract from its great sound. The only thing that could be a bit better in this amp is the reverb.

Comments about Fishman Loudbox Mini PRO-LBX-500 60W 1x6.5 Acoustic Combo Amp:

Well I have owned the Loud Box Mini for two years now and I love the unit! I must say that it does not cut the mustard on a loud stage. You know the situation I mean. Full band with electric guitars roaring you have to have this amp pointing right at you and even then, nope. So there is no amp headroom left for clarity.

However, in all other types of gigs it is a dream come true. Super clean sound of my guitar but much louder! My vocal sounds just like a decent PA at lower volumes (in-door gigs). The chorus effect only has two dialed-in sounds, but hey how many different chorus sounds do you need? I have used the Aux inputes to trigger effects and sounds from my Boss RC-2 pedal, very handy.

I was in the middle of a large festival gig last weekend and used the phase button to stop feedback. On that gig I used the amp as my floor monitor with the PA pushing 750 watts in the monitor speakers. Just used the DI on amp to send acoustic guitar only to the PA. Was not loud enough so I had to add my guitar to monitor mix and then of course that makes the acoustic guitar too loud for others in the band. Funny thing was that the solo musician who played before our band was using the LBX-600 (He knew)! I live in Medford Oregon and it was the old home of Musician's Friend so there are many savvy musicians here.

The single DI output is ok for small gigs (when your not recording) but causes any decent sound person fits cause they can't separate the lead vocal from the acoustic (so save your pennies and buy the 120w ver. With its two, channel DI's.) I am thankful each time I reach into the back of the car to pick up this amp. My back says thanks each time yours will too. Heck if you are under thirty maybe you should buy something heavy so you can have "back in my day" stories, but if not then buy this amp. I am now saving my money for the LBX-600. Which is only a little heavier than the Mini. Then I will give the Mini to my son (gosh, I wish I had had a Dad like me…) lol.

The final thing is this amp has gone up in price from when I bought it. When that happens, you know two things. One is Fishman has raised the price to keep quality up and two is all the working musicians out there know this is still great deal! I pride myself on buying the best gear for the lowest price. So buy it now or the next size up and start rocking it!
