Fishman does it again! I already have the Artist and Love it, so when I saw this model I just had to have it. My Artist gives me all I need for most any gigs that I do and, I have no doubt that the Performer will even go way and above my expectations! I have tried all the competitors in this catagory of acoustic amps and Fishman blows them all away in all areas. Try a Fishman you'll see what I mean.

I bought this amp as a scratch and dent for a very good price from MF. I was suprised that it looked perfect. I didn't see anything wrong at all. I am a solo singer/guitar player and I was looking for a perfoming amp for small venues to replace my 10 year old Peavey EFX110 which had served me well, but is rather heavy. I have tried both of the smaller Fishman amps but found them too weak and limited for live performance. Unfortunatly, this amp is not much better. It's built well, but lacks the range of depth I need for live performance. It has very limited amount of low end and lacks the clear high end that I require. It has plenty of mid range though. If you were a non-singing acoustic guitar player in a band, I'm sure it would cut through fine. My rig of choice has always been a PA with minimum of 200 watt's, driving a 10 inch or 12 inch main. I realize it's a lot to ask from a small combo amp, but my current Peavey is much closer than this Fishman. And, at regular price this amp is very expensive for what you get. I really wanted to like this Amp, but I just coulnd't.

Comments about Fishman Loudbox Performer 180W Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp with Effects:

Got this for acoustic gigs cause I've gotten sick of hauling the PA around. It sounds great and is SO much more convenient and easy to gig with. I really do miss the compressor from my mixer, but for how good this sounds and how much easier it is to gig with, I can live without compression or just use a pedal if I really want it back that badly.

Comments about Fishman Loudbox Performer 180W Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp with Effects:

Open Box blemish minus a 10% promotion, minus my Backstage Pass and no tax equals nearly half off. Then Fishman threw in an official beanie and key ring! I'd actually been surfing around for a used Fishman Artist when I stumbled upon this Open Box Performer at Musician's Friend. I could probably have gotten by with a Mini but hey, why settle for a four cylinder when you could have a V8? Factor in weight, size and reputation... I called in the order. The blemishes were non-discernible and I'm enjoying this amplifier. I play a Martin Dreadnought Jr or an Epiphone DR-500MCE and sing using a Shure Beta 57A. The Epiphone is using an LR Baggs Anthem since its original pup broke and the Martin has its factory pup. All sound great after adjusting for volume, tone and reverb with minimal feedback. Note to Baggs fans: the LR Baggs can really howl. I'm using a small practice room but its nice to know that I have the watts to go large. If this amp never breaks, it will be one of the better amplifier investments I've ever made.

Comments about Fishman Loudbox Performer 180W Acoustic Guitar Combo Amp with Effects:

One reason I bought this amp is because it has 2 independent channels each w/separate volume, tone, effects and line out. I`m using one channel for guitar w/effects pedal board and the other channel for my Roland GR30 synth and the piano, organ etc. It has plenty of headroom and also sounds good at low volumes. My first gig with it is coming up and that will tell the tale and my final evaluation of this amp. Right now I`m very impressed and love it.
