OVERVIEW

An instrument preamp with effects for the stage-ready acoustic musician.

With a high-quality preamp, dual effects section, tone controls, a compressor, level booster and a balanced DI - the ToneDEQ has everything you need in one box. Its analog signal path goes from end to end - from preamp to output - to give acoustic musicians a richer tonal quality. Even the digital effects are mixed in parallel so they don't affect the purity of the your acoustic instrument.

Fully Balanced Stage DI
Flexible outputs include a 1/4" amplifier output and XLR DI output for the lowest noise possible. Plus the DI features automatic ground-lifting and selectable pre/post
EQ settings.

Discrete Class A Preamp
With Fishman, you get quality discrete Class A signal conditioning created by a leader in instrument preamp design. The high impedance input is a must for any
passive instrument pickup.

Advanced 4-Band EQ
Legendary 4-band equalizer design provides superior tone control for any acoustic instrument. The variable low cut filter controls sub-bass effects produced by some
passive pickups.

Comments about Fishman ToneDEQ Preamp EQ:

I bought this product to use with a new, high-end Martin guitar that's equipped with the Aura system, and found it to be, frankly, overkill. But, instead of returning it, I tried it with my piezo-equipped Fender Robert Schmidt electric mandolin.

What this preamp did for my pickup is nothing short of amazing. I've gotten by with cheap, battery-powered preamps my entire career, and it was a big leap to drop this much money on one, but I am SO happy I did. Effects; awesome, EQ; very helpful, I/O; complete, Sound Quality; stellar.

You know, it's not often you use tremolo with an acoustic instrument, but, with mandolin, it's a great touch. And the inclusion of tremolo on this product had me scratching my head, BUT, when I ran the mando through it, it was a beautiful thing. Compression, nice reverbs, and great I/O capabilities/impedance matching, plus, yeah, it's the classiest-looking pedal in the world.

I highly recommend this unit if you have a weak pickup, 'cause this'll get you where you wanna go.

One con: At this price, the AC adaptor should be included. Make sure you order one!

Comments about Fishman ToneDEQ Preamp EQ:

I purchased the Tonedeq to use primarily as a preamp for performing fingerstyle acoustic guitar. The main concern was how the preamp section would "color" the sound. I was looking for a preamp that would be as neutral as possible. After doing an A/B test, it is very difficult to discern any difference in tone between the raw guitar signal and running through the Tonedeq with no effects and the tone controls set to null. This is what I was looking for! The effects have great tone and are very useful. The boost works very well also. So far I am very happy with this unit. It will run down a rechargeable 9v lithium battery in about 3-4 hours. I haven't utilized the compressor yet, but judging from the usefulness of the other sections this also should be well done. The only drawback that I found was that the XLR out bypasses the main volume control.

Comments about Fishman ToneDEQ Preamp EQ:

Being a Fishman Loudbox 100 user, and now moving to the ToneDEQ, it's like having having the Loudbox 100 there beside you, plugged in DI to the PA. The separate chorus and reverb are very we'll set up, and the compression is flawless. The tone controls set at 12noon are almost perfect with little twitching required for a full sound. Add in an Aphex to the signal chain, and it's a full house. I use a Godin Nylon string Multiac with the Fishman pre and pickup system, and it's amazing.
Highly recommended. Well done Fishman, I'd be your Australian Sales Rep anytime!
