Incredible boutique tone, and stage-ready power.

The BE100 is a hand-wired, 100-watt, EL34 powered, multi-channel British style amp that is capable of producing many styles of music from blues to classic rock and from heavy rock to metal by just adjusting the gain and master volume controls. To say it is British styled is just the beginning of describing this inspiring tone machine.

The BE100 is a critically acclaimed amplifier head that was created for the many musicians who have been asking for the Friedman sound in a professional 100 watt format. It can be seen on many superstar stages like Alice in Chains, Pink, Bon Jovi, The Cult, The Foo Fighters and many more. No wonder this amp has received The Editor’s Choice Award from Guitar Player Magazine (Nov, 2013).

Plug into to the BE100 and you will notice instantly, the huge, tight low end and rich harmonically detailed chords at any volume. This is made possible by Friedman’s excellent Master Volume control - so put your attenuator in storage!

Single notes have that Holy Grail singing quality that all guitar players strive to attain but rarely can through most amps. The BE100 cleans up remarkably well with the guitar’s volume control, even with the amp on higher gain settings. To achieve a more dramatic clean, merely switch over to the clean channel, with it’s bass and treble tone shaping controls and 3 way bright switch. All 3 modes (BE, HBE, CLEAN) can be accessed from the amp’s front panel or from the included 2 button footswitch. Start playing through the BE100 and you’ll find it’s very hard to stop!

The BE100 was designed to take pedals very well and loves boosts, over-drives, phasers, flangers, tremolos and wahs, etc. The brand new ultra transparent Series FX loop takes time based FX pedals and rack units equally well.

Comments about Friedman Brown Eye 100W 2CH Tube Guitar Head:

I've owned my BE100 ( from musicians friend) for close to 1 month now and have spent a good amount of time living with it in a home practice, recording and in a band situation.

I'd not played a BE100 before so was anxious ( in a good and bad way ) about the purchase. Here are some things that are of concern to me that I'd like to mention in case they are of concerns to you. One, the amp is very, very quiet. No hum from the amp or dancing around finding the right position to minimize EMI noise (like 3rd power amps for example). I hate noise and this amp exceeded my expectations. Two, there are no annoying frequencies or overtones. More on the tone later.. Three, it does sound great at 'bedroom volume' .. the taper of volume is so smooth .. it really goes from very low to loud gradually. Four, it feels great to play.. just right amount of feel and response. Not too stiff and not too giving.

Tone. the amp is good... crazy good. The cleans have a 3 way bright switch and you have a lot of control with the treble and bass eq for it. It is a good sounding clean.. nothing at all bad with it.. but its not a standout tone. The BE and HBE is really where this amp was designed to be so to have a good clean with the ability to go from a darker jazz to snappy bright country clean is a great thing if your a one amp guy. But, this is built for gain and this amp goes from mild gain to very high gain. The tone is crunchy and smooth but not too smooth.. It isn't as open as my Marshall VintageModern 2466 but thats ok .. because this amp is meant to be punchy. No booming bass.. just bottom end that is super tight ( it NEVER gets mushy and holds together at higher volumes). And part of the reason it sounds great in the internet videos is that this amp records perfectly.. Its truly one of the best amps I've ever owned and I'm convinced it's really one of the best amps ever made.

Was nice to see my BE100 has D.F. initials on the chassis.

By the way, the amp comes in nicely packaged with a good, well written manual, high quality footswitch with detachable cable and power cable.
