Monster tone in a tiny box.

The Friedman Pink Taco 20W tube-driven head might be small, but it packs a big-time punch, and has tone to spare for studio and practice settings. It has a thick, classic tube overdrive that cleans up beautifully with the volume control on your guitar.

The single-channel head features easy-to-use controls — three-band EQ, gain and volume knobs on the front plate — and an FX loop and 1x16Ω or 2x8Ω speaker output on the back panel. The rich tube overdrive is handled by a complement of three 12AX7 (preamp) and two EL84 (power amp).

Features
  • Power: 20W
  • Single channel
  • Controls: 3-band EQ, gain, volume
  • Tubes: three 12AX7 (preamp); two EL84 (power amp)
  • Impedance: 1x16Ω; 2x8Ω

Comments about Friedman Pink Taco 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I have been playing guitar and chasing tone for 30 years and this is the best sounding amp I have ever owned or played.. For a 20 Watt amp this thing is very loud.. It can deliver gain for days if that's want you want and cleans up nicely when you back off your volume knob. The high gain tone isn't overly compressed like some other high end amps. The tone knobs actually do something when you adjust them so there you can dial in a lot of diffent tones.. Sounds great at low volumes too but trust me.. It sounds so good it's hard not to crank it up! I'm currently running it through and old Marshall 1960a with GT75s.

I also currently own a Soldano HR50+, Blackstar HT60 and have owned Marshall JCMs, Peavey 5150s, Mesa Dual Rect.

Comments about Friedman Pink Taco 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

Great amp. This is my second time owning this model. The original one was great but I really wanted 2 channels so I sold it. After failing to find anything that came close to the tone and portability of this amp, I had to get another one. It's very close to the big brother BE100 which I've also owned. Aside from the lack of a clean channel or boost, it's perfect for what it does. Everything from slightly edgy clean plexi to hot rodded 80s metal tones. It's got a thickness and warmth to the single notes that's better to me than any other hot rodded m style amp. It's also got that classic upper mid crunch that's not too brittle like some plexi style amps can be. Also very touch sensative and with the volume knob you can get a lot of tones without touching the amp. The loop is also very good and you don't miss it not having any level controls, etc.
