Designed with four 12ax7s tubes and versatile enough to cover all styles of music.
Dave Friedman’s first signature amplifier, the SS-100 was created to the exacting tonal demands of guitarist extraordinaire, Steve Stevens. The SS-100 is a 100-watt EL34 powered, two channel plus BOOST, high gain tone machine that is capable of producing many styles of music from blues to classic rock and from heavy rock to metal by simply adjusting the gain and master controls. Likewise the versatile and gorgeous clean channel is great for a whole palette of styles.
You will notice instantly, the tight bottom end and rich harmonically detailed chords and single notes. This amp cleans up remarkably well with the guitar’s volume control, even with the amp on higher gain settings.
The SS-100 takes pedals very well and loves boosts, ODs, phasers, flangers, tremolos, wahs, etc. The SS100 has ultra-transparent series FX loop that takes time based FX pedals and rack units equally well.
Handwired in the USA.
For many guitarists, the name Dave Friedman does not have the cachet of, say, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Stevens or Jerry Cantrell. Yet without Friedman’s helping hand these players, as well as a host of countless other guitar heroes, wouldn’t sound as amazing as they do onstage and in the studio.
Dave Friedman has been building, modding and repairing amplifiers for some of the world’s biggest stars for the past 25 years. Friedman’s innovative designs have made him legendary in the world of professional touring musicians and the meticulous construction of his Rack Systems gear has earned him a loyal clientele from all over the world.
One of Friedman’s services has been to modify amps to each player’s specific tonal pallet and to consult for other established amplifier companies with their own designs. Friedman’s extensive experience in this area inspired Dave to develop a brand-new series of production amplifiers under Friedman Amplification. In the past, having Friedman build or mod your amp required a certain level of notoriety, but now his sonic wizardry is available to everyday players.
Each Friedman amplifier is handwired right here in the USA using only ultra high-grade components. With 25 years of experience in fixing amps, Dave has learned all the pitfalls other companies may have over looked, none of which are in a Friedman amp. It is for this reason Friedman amps are designed and built to last a lifetime.
From hard to smooth, this head provides plenty of groove. Order today!

Comments about Friedman Steve Stevens Signature 100W Tube Guitar Head:
I've been playing for over 40 years. Having come from an era where the tones we grew up on and loved in the 60's and 70's were nearly all Marshall based, my truest love of tone and feel has always been based in the Marshall camp. Like many out there, I've owned many Marshall's and been through just about every boutique attempt at "improving" on the "Marshall" mystique in existence, with some coming "close" but all failing to nail that elusive tone in my head. Then after all those years I came to own a Friedman BE100 and my life has never been the same. Everything I ever wanted to hear and feel was finally there more perfectly than I had even dreamed. So I decided to give this Steve Stevens a try and all I can say is Dave Friedman is pure genius. This amp is just enough different from my BE100 to easily justify having both and yet it's so fantastic sounding and feeling that I have a hard time deciding which one to plug into. Never, in all my years, have I been so blown away by simply plugging in and playing. If you can afford this amp then don't hesitate. You will finally experience happiness you've only dreamed of as a guitarist. Friedman's are the most amazing amps on the planet IMHO.
