OVERVIEW

Authentic vintage Univibe sound in a pedal that'll save space on your board.

Real estate is precious, especially on your pedal board, but the lush organic sounds of a perfect "authentic vintage Univibe clone" are a necessity, and they are now attainable in a space now smaller than a standard wah wah pedal... the Mini-Deja'Vibe3 (MDV-3 for short).

The MDV-3 features a Hammertone Blue powder coated finish, white lettering, and a blue LED that throbs to the beat of the pedal's hypnotic, asymmetrical rhythm. It has a new heel or toe activated True-Bypass footswitch that is perfect for the person who rarely changes speeds and just wants to turn it on or off with his toe, but also perfect for the person who rides it like a gas pedal and wants to turn the pedal on/off with a simple flick of the heel.

In typical Fulltone fashion, they also manufacture their own speed potentiometer. It's a dual pot with a gear on it like wah-wah pot, and with a special taper (same as original Univibes). The only change made is Fulltone upped the resistance to 200K to get you better slow speeds, and double screen the carbon composition track to last years beyond what the old ones lasted.

Intensity and Volume knob
True Bypass ON/OFF footswitch

Comments about Fulltone Custom Shop MDV3 Mini DejaVibe 3 Vibe/Chorus Pedal w/Foot Controlled Speed:

This is the real thing (Fullton started making these for Trower when UniVibes became hard to find). It even does the real slow speeds better than the Uni; you can make the dancers dizzy with this thing! It's so much less *overbearing* an effect than your phase shifter/flanger/chorus; with one toggle on 'Vintage' and the other on 'Vibrato' it gives straight-up Leslie-whirl, and the foot pedal changes 'horn speed'...easy on-off without having to undo your speed-setting by heeling or toeing the pedal--there's a separate dimmer switch by the side of your heel. Very nice. Blue LED on the side pulses the current horn speed, but the fact is your 'out' cord will cover it up (unless you use a straight cord-end, which pretty much means it's not going on your pedalboard...so, there's that). It will go over the 'Intensity' and 'Volume' knobs, as well. Here's another thing: this unit is 'small' compared to, say, a wah or exp pedal, but it's not ~small~! If your pedalboard's crammed already, you'll have to take off two pedals to make room for this--not just one. Mine's the full-sized PedalTrain frame with 9 devices--3 of them large (Q-Tron, Dual delay, and Vol JR). So with a full board (half of it goes to the front of my amp, the modulation and time effects are in the FX Loop..except the Q-Tron lol) and the previously-noted awkward placement of the In and Out jacks, I put this Deja-Vibe in the loop; it has plenty of room on the floor NEXT TO my pedalboard, as the last device before "EFX Return". This allows me to use a straight cord Out so I can see the LED, adjust Intensity easily, etc. This comes with a wall-wart, btw; I plugged mine into my VooDoo Lab Power Plus 2 'courtesy' 110v socket (along with the Q-Tron's) under my board. Fortunately, this pedal and its 110v ps fit in my pedalboard's side pocket, so I *kind of* put it on my pedalboard. Its right next to it forever. I can't get over how great it sounds; the 'Chorus' setting and 'Vintage/Modern' toggle might suffice to replace your flanger/phase shifter, too, who knows?! Remember that real slooooow Little Wing in the boxed set 'Jimi Hendrix: Stages'? This unit NAILS that dark warble.....It's quite possible that this pedal is too cool for you (there; I said it!), and if you suspect that may be the case, perhaps you'd be better off with one of those 2-knob units like the BBE or the VooDoo Lab--they cost half what this real one does (and those ones *will* fit on your pedalboard lol). If you try one of these first, though, I bet you'll fall in love with your new sonic spectrum and keep it. This is another real ear-tickler from Fulltone, and my new favorite pedal.

Comments about Fulltone Custom Shop MDV3 Mini DejaVibe 3 Vibe/Chorus Pedal w/Foot Controlled Speed:

This is a good pedal, gives you a thick tone and you'll want to leave it on all night. Press the pedal down a little for faster Hendrix like vibe or bring it back for a thick chorus for ambient tones or jazzy riffs... A little static when moving the expression pedal, but youll probably not move it much during a song... My problem is not with the pedal but with Fulltones non existent customer service... I wrote them (no phone number which is BS) to inquire about other products and no reply.... I wanted to give them more of my money, but they couldn't take the time to answer a simple question or even respond at all... I would just rather give my money to a company that has good service and a good product, not one or the other... I bet when Robin Trower sends an email to Fulltone, they respond... I might not be as famous as him, but customers should be treated well regardless... Sorry Fulltone, but I don't think I will buy anymore of your products... I'd rather spend the extra dough on a boutique hand built pedal made by someone who gives more attention to their customers

Comments about Fulltone Custom Shop MDV3 Mini DejaVibe 3 Vibe/Chorus Pedal w/Foot Controlled Speed:

O.k there is a lot of "hype" concerning this pedal and I fell for it....when I first saw ad's for this pedal I noticed the new design(with the cut out treadle with the foot switch towards the heal) I thought that was a great design.I mean you could set and forget your speed etc and if needed adjust it on the fly(especially live). I've always wanted to capture that Hendrix at Woodstock univibe tone. I did not know much about Fulltone(wish I did!) I only knew people praised his univibes as being 100% authentic and Robin Trower uses them exclusively. ..with that said this pedal should be a winner right???? SORRY its NOT! I bought this pedal from MF back in Dec of 2014( this was a Xmas present to myself)The pedal was delivered 3 days before Xmas(great job MF). I was very excited! I opened the box pulled out the pedal plug it in and tweaked and tweaked and I couldn't give that TONE. I thought maybe its my amp( it was needing new tubes at the time). I wasn.t feeling it....so to make a very long story short....I got my amp in order and I would try within a years time trying to dial in that pedal and no luck! Then I started noticing some problems like it was muddying up my tone and when using a fuzz pedal it would loose output(the volume would drop big time with the unity gain maxed) . I knew that something was wrong....so I tried to contact Fulltone 6 TIMES within a 4 month period and I never ever received a response. I didn't get an automated message giving me a ticket/incident number( so I had no idea if they even got my inquiry) I did some research and found out Fulltone basically has no customer service and sometimes even berates their customers, that is IF they contact you) This pedal is very pricey and for it to cost so much and to have no customer service is ridiculous! So be forewarned and do your research about Fulltone and it's rep of bad customer service before you buy.

Comments about Fulltone Custom Shop MDV3 Mini DejaVibe 3 Vibe/Chorus Pedal w/Foot Controlled Speed:

This thing sounds great. You can dial in a little subtle vibe flavor or thick swirly Hendrixy goodness. I love expression pedal for the speed control, it makes it easy to change on the fly. The speed range covers everything I would ever need, from rapid fire machine gun sounds to slow rolling swooshing. Construction seems to be pretty solid, I would have no worries taking it on the road. If you're in the market for a vibe pedal I would definitely check the mdv-3 out. It has a bigger footprint and price tag than the micro vibe or some others but I think the sound quality and expression pedal make it worth every penny in my opinion.
