The Fulltone OCD—Obsessive Compulsive Drive—overdrive pedal packs classic OD tones into a compact pedal with simple, no-fuss operation. From heavy crunch rich with overtones and feedback to spanky cleans, the OCD delivers the sounds of a great tube amp, as sell as the same sensitivity and response to your playing style.
Along with standard Volume, Drive, and Tone controls, the OCD's HP/LP (High Peak/Low Peak) switch takes the pedal from a clean boost to manic, sustain-laden distortion. True bypass switching.
The Fulltone Story
Fulltone was founded in 1991 by Michael Fuller, a session guitarist, composer, performer, electronic tinkerer featured in Guitar Player magazine, and first place winner in their "Ultimate Guitarist Competition" Blues category. Fulltone pedals were born out of a love for music, tone, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc. Early on Fuller developed a love for fine vintage pedals, and his frustration at the inconsistencies and the often fragile nature of old gear drove him to start Fulltone. Rich, Fat-sounding TONE TOOLS with a reliable build quality is the goal. Fulltone effects carry a 5 year warranty and are built for (and by) musicians.
Fulltone use True Bypass switching (with L.E.D. status indicators) in all our pedals, whenever possible. Most other pedals have a buffered output that destroys the performance of most pedals that follow in the signal-chain. Fuller says don't be fooled by the claims of "Pure Bypass," "Hard Bypass"...etc. These are just catch phrases to divert your attention away from the fact that those pedals are not true-bypass. Fullertone manufactures their own custom potentiometers because what has been offered as "Industry Standard" has a 20% failure rate within 2 years is not acceptable to them.
All Fulltone pedals are handbuilt & tested at their shop in Southern California using full-sized top-notch components. In the Choralflange, a rather complex pedal as analog designs go, there are NO miniature surface mount chips, capacitors, or resistors. They have their wire custom-made, and it's 22 gauge copper stranded with no tin-coating, so it stays flexible over the years without breaking. You might not know or care about components, but you'll certainly hear the FAT, clean, warm results.

Overall, I believe you can't go wrong with the OCD pedal. I've played it through a Fender Blues Junior, a Crate Palomino, and even a solid-state Fender M-80. On all of these amps the pedal produced a better sound than what was available with the amp alone. The OCD takes an average amp's sound and makes it better. The OCD, combined with another boost pedal for solos, makes a great setup for rock/blues style playing. It has a beautifully articulate sound, like a great tube amp cranked up.
The OCD pedal is brilliant: it has simple controls, a variety of tones, and a reasonable price. (I own version 4). It seems that almost any setting produces a usable sound. It can be set to simply produce an almost transparent volume boost, or can crank up the drive and get a creamy, saturated, overdrive sound. What I like best about the OCD is the fact that individual notes in chords can be clearly heard, and they don't "mush" together as can happen with many other distortion/overdrive pedals. Additionally, the pedal reacts much like an overdriven tube amp; therefore, when the drive knob is cranked up on the OCD, one can "roll back" the guitar's volume knob and clean up the sound, without losing much clarity. Many other pedals sound like mud when using that technique. The OCD is a great pedal.
The OCD is built solidly: it has a rugged metal case and solid switch. I use the pedal weekly, and it is holding up well. I feel confident that it will last for many years.
The OCD is a great value for the money. Adding the OCD to your setup is like upgrading to a better amp. It increases your sound quality, and is inspiring to play. And that is worth every penny.

This pedal is great if you want a pretty genuine cranked tube amp sound, ranging from a blackface on 11 to a vox or lower watt marshall. BUT I've found this pedal works best for recording or for jamming with yourself. It absolutely does NOT cut through live, i've played it at about half a dozen shows with various guitars. Whenever I soundchecked my guitar is sounded great, but once the band kicks in you disappear completely. I agree with the other reviewer on here who said there is a weird volume problem with this pedal. You can leave the settings EXACTLY the same (I've taken pics with my phone) but the volume output will vary whenever you turn it on. It's a shame because otherwise it's a well-built, good sounding pedal, but I recommend keeping it at home.

Been through a LOT of distortion pedals. Some were good, others were not. However, none were exactly what I was looking for. Until now. In my opinion, the OCD is the Holy Grail of distortion pedals. Very dynamic and musical, very smooth, warm, and full. Rolling back your volume garners some of the best tones the pedal has to offer. You could easily leave the OCD all the time, using your guitar volume and picking attack to determine how much drive you want.
Bottom line is that the OCD is a simply awesome distortion pedal. If you only had to use one dirt pedal, the OCD could do the job and leave you smiling. Don't hesitate to try it... you'll be glad you did.

Did I need this? No! I already own a tube screamer, the 808 reissue model. I also own the Wampler sovereign distortion pedal. Am I glad I bought this? Yes! The OCD pedal is very amp like. It is very easy to dial in a good sound. It seems well constructed. The HP and LP modes add some versatility. On my pedalboard, the OCD comes in third place. I usually do not like the Fulltone stuff however this particular pedal is pretty good.

This Pedal Is Good For Low Distortion,Warm, Oldschool Tones. I Was Not Impressed With The Sound On My Guitars. LTD MH1000(EMG 81/85), Schecter Hellraiser(EMG 81/89) And Ibanez ART100(Duncan Custom5, Dimarzio PAF30th Anniversary. On A Marshall Combo Valvestate2000, 100watt. Marshall MG100FX Halfstack. I Crave More Versatility, Output, And Sustain, So I Payed A Little More Money And Picked Up A VFE Distortion3, Awesome Pedal.

All the positive reviews on this pedal should tell you something. I played at least 15 different overdrives before picking this one. In the process, I learned that I am really not a fan of the Tube Screamer mid range hump (or other similar pedals), and some other options out there don't give much low end.
This pedal is able to give you anything from a slight volume boost to heavy distortion. I can even get mine to match a Boss MetalZone much of the time. Only thing it doesn't do well is the heavy metal full-on distorted "sing".
HP/LP switch gives some nice options in the level of "growl" that you get. When I play worship music, the LP works well for giving some dirt withouth going over the top, and HP works well for when I do classic rock or alternative stuff.
Very good pedal, very well built. On my first one, the tone knob went out after about 2 months. It was replaced by the store immediately, no questions asked. So Fulltone backs up their product. No problems since.
You will not be disappointed.

All I can say about this pedal is wow. It's amazing. Put it in front of a solid state amp, and it'll sound like an overdriven tube amp, put it front of a tube amp, and you're in tone heaven. This thing has an amazing amount of gain on tap, more then a typical OD has. Before I was using a Boss SD-1, but the OCD blows it out of the water. It's warm but not muddy, and it reacts nicely to the sound of your guitar and your amp. It can add color to your tone, or keep the integrity of rig. The OCD will do whatever you need it to, it'll go from Hendrix to Van Halen, it is THE overdrive pedal.

I have recently gone back to individual stompboxes after years of multi effect pedals and rack mounts. I tried at least 50 other pedals before I settled on this one. I think it has a great well rounded tone and I love the way my mids sound with it. I found setting that I love and will stick with it but there is plenty of room to experiment and change things up. I would definitely recommend this pedal.
