This cabinet is great in many aspects, but lacks serious low end drive. When combined with a GK amp with separate tweeter amp, the sound is great! Sounds great for slapping, but if you need some seroius bottom out of a single 4X10 cabinet, you better look elsewhere. However, if you plan to add a 1X15 cab with it, that may give you the low end you need, but I did not want to haul around two cabinets. I ended up getting the Ampeg SVT410HLF, which goes lower and moves more air than any other 4X10 cab I've seen. This cabinet combined with the GK 1001RB amp pushes some seroius sound!

I purchased this cabinet new about 4 months ago. I was truly surprised by the sound I could get out of it using many different heads. The sound is very good! Comparable to the higher end ampegs and even Aguilar cabs. Unfortunately the cab is not well constructed. I have gigged it maybe 6 times since I purchased it. 2 castors have broken off (not easily replaceable with the style gromits used). I blew 2 speakers less than 3 months after purchase! The cab says it handle four hundred watts! I blew it using a 200 Watt head turned up to less than 1/4 power!!!!! Great sound BAD QUALITY! an odd mix! Thank god it has a 1 year warranty on the speakers!!!

There are still

By Lowgozit

from DFW TX

When a person constantly refers to everything ampeg it is very clear that person is in love with the bottom end over tones very much characteristic of the entire ampeg line. I have have owned almost every production, and boutique line of amps/cabs on the market, still come back to GK. Made in USA, looks and sounds GREAT, and the most dependable/predictable amps/cabs I have ever owned. Learn how to use the product via proper amp/cab selection before running an item down!!!

Great Cab for the price

By Easter

I have the 410 SBX cab with the 700RB head. It's punchy and I love the responsiveness of the cab. I would highly recommend the Cab.

people who think they are smart, are stupid...

By T-ZdYqy

from Colon, Mi

I purchased this cab a while back and ran it at first with a 150 watt (@ 4ohm) head, that didnt work so great, so I bought a more powerful head that ran 400 watts @ 8ohms exactly where this cab is supposed to operate and it still sounded like crap past 3 on your volume. After already replacing ALL the speakers with origional equiptment once, I got to do it again (just so i could sell it). Dont waste your money on this G/K stuff, just go buy Ampeg. Why? Because they work.

People Are Stupid

By Chase_The_Bass-INUpt

from San Antonio, TX

What people dont seem to realize is that underpowering a cab is worse then overpowering. U have a 400W rated cab and u are running a a 150W amp at half, that is 75W going into cab, which is grossly underpowering it and will make the speakers blow easily (this is with all cabs). Most cabs have a RMS, which is the reccomended minimum wattage that should be pumped out, any less is hurting the cab.

Give or Take

By T-Bird-zXToj

from Grand Rapids, MI

I bought this cab a while back with a randall BT1000. The randall roadwarrior BT1000 is an awesome amp and I had run it though tons of different cabs. This cab really has every end of the deal as far as tone goes and the adjustable tweeter is great. The only problem is it cannot handle power for crap. It is rated at 400watts I believe and with a 8ohm amp I couldn't run over half volume with 150 watts, then on top of that your typical electronics aren't quite as solid as your ampegs. Great recording or small gig cab but don't expect to bring down a larger venue with this cab.

Not Very Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Cheshire

from Crystal River, FL

I bought this cab about 5 months ago and it sounded great but wasnt cutting through at band practice. So I purchased the 115 sbx to give it some more thump that seemed to just barely cut through band practice so I fugured maybe the head wasnt very powerful the 700 rb II. Well to shorten the story my 115 blew up so I went shopping again for a cab while my 15 was being repaired and I bought the Ampeg pro series 410 hooked it up to my 700 rb II GK and it shook the band room it cut through the pa and the guitar I almost craped my pants. So to overall GK makes great heads but the sbx series cabs are horrible I will never buy one again.

I had one..

By Willem!

from Palmdale, CA

Well, on my first big step going from a combo amp to a head/cab set up I got this guy and a GK 400rb-IV (280w). The low end on this cab is definitely lacking, and the higher end frequencies have a tendency to make the speakers shudder.. which isnt that pleasant. The input on the back is made of a very weak plastic so, if the cable so much as yanks a little bit it will probably break the plastic input, I returned it 3 times after this happened. On the 3rd time I got a Ampeg 4x10 Classic cab and never looked back. I guess if someone gave you this you could use it, but i wouldn't recommend buying it.
