i bought this lil thing because i needed something for the band room the room we practice in is VERY small. so i figured this would do the trick... it works fine. we had a last minute gig and i brought this thing to the gig. i eneded up running direct into the pa (w/ a direct box) but one of the guitarists ended up using this amp with his 7 string. man the tone from this thing with that seven string was unreal! scooped some of the mids. and WHAM it was HEAVY. sounded better than the other guitarist's Blue Voodoo. Guitarist even used it to record the demo with. all i can say is WOW!this amp works awesome for both bass AND guitar!

This little amp is a good solo practice amp, at low volume levels. However even the low gain channel is still horribly gainy when turned up so I can hear myself when playing with my band. It ruins the sound on mellow songs, and just sounds horrible when trying to fill up a room. Don't go play gigs with this amp, because you won't get the sound you're looking for.

I bought this because I didn't have alot of money and I need something to replace my old 25-watt amp, so I bought this, and LOVED IT!! The speakers sometimes rattle a little, but other than that, it's great!!

Not a bad little amp

I recently bought the GK Backline 110 to use with my Squier MB-4 bass. I've played through a Peavey 115TNT, a Fender Bassman, an SWR LA12 and the GK, and only the Bassman, in my opinion was a better amp, but at a much greater cost. I wish the GK would get a little louder with a clean signal (even on the clean channel, it really wants to clip unless you turn the preamp WAAAAY down), but the GK has a much clearer sound than either the LA12 or the 115TNT.All in all, perhaps not the best amp available, but still a very good amp for the price.

I love it

It's got lots of punch for being such a little amp. I use it for recording as well as practicing. Plus, you can't beat the price.

Great tone at low volume

Was helping a friend get an amp. She plays with an acoustic group that plays at coffee hose levels (very quiet) and this was the only amp that sounded like a real bass amp at those volumes. However it won't get very loud so if you are playing rock w/drums, better buy a bigger amp. That said, the tone really is awesome! Great practice amp.

Great practice/recording/small gig amp

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Small size, but packs a big punch. For a practice amp, this is the one that I measure up everything else to. Nice EQ circuit. Sounds great, although will overload if you try to turn it up all the way. That's not a problem for me, I really don't need to turn it up all the way. Pleased with this amp.

Found the bass amp I have been looking for

By superdave-lcxmy

from cape canaveral, florida

I have been looking for ages to find a bass amp that has power, punch, ins and outs, and very flexible tone adjustments, all in a small and light weight package at a reasonable price. This amp is the one. I can't find anything bad to say about it.

Pretty good

By Adem

This is a great amp but not for gigs. At above the six o'clock position on the volume dial the amp begins to distort, not what should be expected from an amp of this price.

Great amp - easy to drag around!

By GBDevlin

from Boston

G-K's always sound great for bass... I use this one with guitar as a stage monitor while I go through the PA, and as a bass amp for small gigs. I'm not sure it puts out a full 70 watts, though. I will probably buy another for my regular size gigs because these are easy to tote.

Great little amp for the money! Bought it for use as practice amp/stage monitor. Works great - clean channel will distort if pushed too hard!
