This little amp was exactly what I was looking for. A small amp to fit in my apartment, throw in the car, have a jam session with a drummer and it sounds awesome! A combo amp with 15" driver was too big to lug around, a 10" driver could not push the low "B" and most amps with 12" speakers are just 15" speaker cab with a 12" driver and then just priced lower. You WILL need to purchase a limiter/enhancer to smooth out all of the rough edges of its tone. I dig this amp!!

This amp has pretty good tone and I like the distortion BUT... if you put the volume over 5 the speaker starts to rattle and it starts to sound very bad. I mean, it RATTLES REALLY BAD! The volume is actually very low for a 100 watter. You won't be able to play the smallest gigs with this thing. If you just need a practice amp, it's OK, it's really small for a 100 watt amp, but if you need it even a little loud, buy another amp. BUY THE FENDER RUMBLE 100. It's cheaper, TONS and TONS LOUDER, and no rattling even at the LOUDEST VOLUMES. The only thing I really like about the GK Backlines is that the grill looks so cool... but other than that I would consider it a practice amp.

I tried swr10,15,12, I also tried ampeg ba112 this was by far the best, sound is clean, loud, alot of features and great portability.
I own this amp, and i am preparing to sell it. I play with my band in a soundroom in my guitarists garage and i have to crank it up to hear myself over medium volume guitars and a drumset. Anything over half power begins to sound scratchy and buzzes from the speaker. I have to use my friend's 4x10 peavey and a 300w behringer to play my shows. Don't get me wrong, GK makes some nice products, but this combo must be the runt of the litter. I suggest to NOT BUY THIS AMP!!! stick with a low end amp, maybe borrow a friends larger equipment, but do not wast your money on this.
This amp is not that good, i have a 5-strng and everytime i go for a low sound it sounds distorted so if you have a higher tuning and a 4-string it would be good but for everyone who has a 5 string dont waste your money
I'm in a band and this amp definatly works well. My guitarist has a crate amp that's 130W and this amp can definitely keep up with it. Since I play with a pick a lot I don't have much of a problem with distortion when I have it cranked up all the way... Yes, all the way!!!! When I do play with my fingers though, if I'm too rough it will distort a bit. Definitely a great amp @ this price range, especially to achieve a great punk rawk tone!!!
when i bought this amp i thought it would give me more presence playing than a 50 watt peavey but i was wrong. I can only turn it up so loud without it starting to sound like crap. Save your money and buy another amp.
I have one at my house, it's fun to play at home. Loud enough to play small gigs.
Has a great sound to it and is fairly simple.
This light-weight combo packs a mean punch, yet has a small footprint. It has a solid tone that cannot be mached for the money. It is perfect for practice and small venues. G-K knows bass and have made a quality product.
this is my first amp, and still is. Im in a band that has practiced tons. the amp sounded fine, no flaws. We have played two shows and when i turned this thing up it rattled and sounded like i had the distortion on. it was embarassing. its fine for practicing, but shows...no
It sounds great has a wide range of different sounds you can get out of it. Its perfect for jammin gets a great bass punch and sounds great at any volume, I love it.
