OVERVIEW

Great sound at any volume.

The Gallien-Krueger Goldline 810GLX Bass Cabinet is loaded with 8x10" Paragon Goldline aluminum cone loudspeakers designed and manufactured by GK. Goldline speakers are designed to deliver a rich, warm, golden tone with a little extra sparkle in the top end. Special care has been taken in the cabinet design to eliminate standing waves so that nothing gets in the way of your performance and the 810GLX uses a sealed design for enhanced control and that classic rock and roll growl. The result is a thick low-end with a smooth, even response across the entire frequency spectrum. The cabinet features black carpet coverings, recessed, spring-loaded handles, rugged steel grilles and custom interlocking corners. The 810GLX sports a tilt-back handle, wheels and rear mounted slide rails to help protect it from road wear.

..Maannn! This Cab is just a demolishen machine ! I've tried it at the store and I'm getting it soon, very soon! If you play hard and you like the dominating bass sound, sound that brings you up front and people realize that there's somebody serious on stage holding the bass-axe : THIS is for you! The lows just shake the ground, prestine mids and highs. Very clear and very punchy and very loud too! GK just nailed it with this one! Absolutely astonishing looks as well! The only thing I was a little turned down with is the power rating: 800W (I would liked more like 1,200 Watts or more..) What I really killed me is the PRICE! Let me tell you, I have tried the Mesa 8X10 before, I really liked it, I must say, and I thought nothing ever would come close to that.. Not until I tried this baby! It doesn't give in even inch to RoadReady Mesa! And Mesa costs THREE TIMES as much... Common!!! ..Get it, you'll thank me later!

Have the GLX810 enclosure. Have had it over a year now. The first speaker started to go bad after about a month. G-K actually sent me a replacement without making me drive the 90mi to a service center. Cool, expect when the 2nd one went bad, I couldnt get a response. With it costing less money to buy replacements than to drive it to a service center, I got a Jensen Mod replacement. Then the next speaker went. Then the next. My 1001-RB head has a clip light and no electronic issues, so Im not willing to blame the head. The aluminum just separated one-by-one. In researching the problem I found some used enclosures for sale with all 8 speakers replaced, or with most of them blown and being sold just as an empty box. I finally chucked out the money to replace all the remaining speakers with Jensen speakers, which is a so-so arrangement. Its like paying retail for the cab and getting a headache to go with it. Shoulda got an Ampeg. On the upside, before they started rattling the sound was great. The brightness was not harsh, even playing with a pick on round-wound strings. Still, a HUGE disappointment.

Awsome

This cab is untouchable for the price. The aluminum cone speakers are a nice touch especially if you play any slap bass at all.The tone is untouchable and the price cannot be beat. The only set back is that this cab is heavy and it is big.The added wheels on the bottom and the metal hand rail on top make it fairly easy to move around.

I've used it for 2 years now!!!

By MM-rBsh0

I've gigged out with this cabinet for 2 years now ... It still sounds great .. Its built like a tank. I've had friends who used the ampeg with great sound but always had issues with wear ... Not with the GK ... Built to last ...

BUY IT!!!

By Nannie Doss

from Louisville, KY

I recenly bought this cabinet and I am really impressed with the sound. Its tone is amazing. I have played ampeg and doesnt compare to the sound of this. The only thing I dont like about this cabinet is I wish it had handles on the side. With it weighting over 150 pounds its hard to lift in and out of trucks/trailers. but It truely is a beast. I def. recommend this to anyone.

CARDBOARD!!!

By Bassripper

from Sauk Village, IL

My friend own this piece of machinery. he lives in an apartment and this thing is a monster to carry by oneself. We were going up the stairs and we dropped it on its wheels and the wheels broke the wood going into the cab. The horrible site to see was picking out the pieces and realising that the cabinet was made out of cardboard...you heard me right CARDBOARD. the overall sound wasn't affected but, cardboard. If you plan to get this...Be carefull dropping it will cause it to shatter. GK you disappointed me.

Just.......O.K.

By Stevebass

I recently upgraded my bass rig after 15 years of playing through the same stack. I really had done a lot of homework and research before making a final decision. After playing through numerous different types of brands,of amp heads and cabinet combinations I found that the Gallien Krueger really did not have it, (at least for me). Not that it was a horrible cabinet, it was just missing that sweet sound that you would expect from an 8x10 cabinet. I found that Markbass and especially Ampeg were far better choices for basically the same price. Sorry GK, just not that impressed.

Veddy Veddy Nice

By Krash2kill

from Denver, CO

I played this thing at the store for weeks, I loved it, I liked it more than the Ampeg 810 that was right next to it. I brought my head in, I was worried about it being underpowered. It runs 300w at 4ohms, and I was concerned about matching a new cab with my vintage Peavey Mark III 400 bass head. Shouldn't have been worried at all. It sounded great! Totally and entirely swamped everyone around at less than half volume. Guitars playing louder than they need to be? where? Drums? What do those sound like? The highs rocketed through, lows rattled the storefront windows, I got yelled at, but it was worth it. At home I have to watch the volume, it gets loud fast, and rattles crap off the walls. Absolutely awesome cab, I can't wait to play this one live.

HEAR your bass guitar

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This cabinet provides the ultimate clarity. The GK1001RBII amp head is the perfect match for this cab, letting you express yourself no matter your style. Slap and pop ring through like bells, and hard driving metal lines are defined like never before. I never knew my bass sounded so good. A bargain at twice the price.

By ZMsvchloU

This is hands down the best cabinet ever. it can handle the low sound of any bass. i suggest to not even hesitate to buy this. if you have the money to buy this now! buy it! i have a cousin who owns one and it really sounds good. Very clean and very bassy when set right. there will not be another bass cabinet that beats it.
