Even more portable with its smaller, lighter construction.

The Gallien-Krueger Neo 115-III is a bass cab built to deliver silky-smooth, solid tone—and now it's even more portable with a reduced weight of 40 pounds and smaller dimensions. This compact, roadworthy front-ported cabinet is loaded with a custom-designed, cast-frame 15" neodymium speaker. Neodymium speakers are lighter than traditional speakers, but deliver the same robust performance. Tuned for a consistent response from top to bottom, there is plenty of definition in the highs and mids, coupled with a fat low-end. The bass cabinet also features GK's bi-amp system; Speakon-style and 1/4" connectors; 300W power handling; rugged poplar construction; Tolex covering; reinforced, interlocking corners; and 16-gauge steel grille.

  • 400W RMS/ 8 ohms

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 115-III 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I bought this cab to go with my new purchase of the MB200 head. I was very pleased with the tone and volume of this pairing. The impetus behind my decision was to have an option other than the 3 ton Ampeg classic tube amp and 8x10 fridge I've been using. I went into this purchase knowing that it would never replace the old stead for all applications, but with the purchase of one more NEO 1x15 daisy chained to the other (MB200 only has one speaker out) I honestly can't imagine a stage too big for this set up. I continue to use just the one 1x15 cabinet for all but the outdoor festivals. I had the opportunity to a/b the cabinet combos. I started with the NEO 1x15 paired with the NEO 410 (my original choice) decided I'm getting bulky again and went to the 1x15 paired with the 2x10, liked it a lot and almost stopped there. Of course my third and last was to pair it with another NEO 1x15 and I have to say, a lot of the reviews you read are spot-on, nothing sounds better and more harmonious than pairing like speaker to like speaker. Gallien Krueger has done it again, the NEO cabinets ALL OF THEM are truly well thought-out and executed lightweight beasts. The MB 200 is remarkable and gives you 110% of the rated 200 watts, a review in itself.

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 115-III 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

If you're a bass player, than you already know that GK builds a quality product. So I'm going to talk about their excellent customer service. I emailed GK a question pertaining to matching the wattage of two cabinets to a head. I received a very well-written response within a day. I then ordered this cabinet, which compliments my GK 12" Neo quite nicely. The other thing I'm very happy about is Musician's Friend customer service! Are you people shy, or what? Do I have to focus on a product just to say that Musician's Friend is very honest & reliable?

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 115-III 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Nice tight sound...very warm and very clear. I love the weight ( and my back thanks Gallien-Krueger as well). I was looking for a smaller 15" cabinet that would be loud enough for small - medium sized clubs. It does a great job as a stand-alone unit and I couple it with my Aguilar GS 112 for larger venues. I'm powering mine with an Ampeg PF-500 and couldn't be more pleased. I play blues and this cabinet provides exactly the sound I am looking for. My type of music doesn't require me using the tweeter much, but I like to keep mine at approximately 1/3, just enough to broaden out the high end a bit. I would have liked another 1/4" jack out. I really don't think there is a better compact 15" cabinet out there in this price range. Job well done, G-K! My 60 year old back appreciates what you've accomplished.

Great modern, compact, high power cabinet

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 115-III 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I've been very pleased with this cabinet both in tandem with the GK 4x10 NEO and as my preferred stand-alone cabinet. I can't imagine blowing the speaker as the other reviewer seemed to do. He may have just got a lemon. I think some slight improvements in the details can be made as mentioned above, but otherwise, I think this is the best 1x15 NEO cabinet available in all categories; quality, sound, and price. This is a professional cabinet that won't break your back or your wallet.
This is really nice and compact and looks great. Adjustable horn and ability to bi-amp. Speakon and 1/4 inputs. Great power handling (don't know what the other reviewer did to blow this cab!). Nice handles. Nice corner protectors. Sharp looking. The only two features it lacks are casters and a cushioned spacer between the grill and cabinet. With respect to casters, it's a very, very light and compact cabinet, but considering casters don't cost much to include, why not just put them on GK? Sometimes we have a lot of ground to cover from the car to the stage and back. With respect to the grill spacer, I haven't heard any grill rattle yet, but a cushioned spacer would almost guarantee it won't occurr. Small gripes.
I have run a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 and a Markbass Little Mark III through this and the GK 4x10 NEO. I've used both active and passive basses. The cabs together are an awesome stack with a wall of clear, punchy, articulate bass. When I just need to use one cabinet, I choose this one over the 4x10. Ever since I started playing many years ago, I've always been drawn to the 15in speaker. I don't think any other speaker configuration can give you the chest rattling lows of a 15in. And this one is especially compact and punchy. So far, no quality problems at all. It looks great and pumps out low end and has NEO portability. The box is so small, it's like carrying a 1x12 around. I love the way the corners fit tightly together with the GK 4x10 NEO. One odd thing: this cabinet and the 4x10 each come with Speakon cables included. That's a great deal, however, they include very cryptic instructions that seem to say that those cables should only be used when biamping and that regular Speakon cables won't work for bi-amping. It was unclear to me whether I could use these cables when not biamping (I prefer to run rull range). GK needs to clarify its manual on the included cables.
If you look at the features and the power handling, it's hard to beat the price. Other brands like SWR charge much more for NEO cabinets for the same or less power handling. Considering these are GK's pro quality cabinets, the price in comparison to other brands is the best. I would have paid $10 more had GK included casters, even on this small, light cabinet. Also, the included Speakon cables save you money too (presuming they can be used when running full-range and not just for bi-amping). I could have bought any cabinet I wanted and I chose this one. No regrets.

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 115-III 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

This cabinet sounded great with my neo 410 both being pushed by my 1001rb right up until the second set when it blew with the most unbearable screaching sound you have ever heard. not a good value. I hope GK comes out with a neo 115 that will handle some real watts, I will be first in line to buy it.

            Nice Stand Alone Cabinet

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 115-III 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I was looking for a single cab solution that sounded bigger than my Aggie GS112. This did it for me with a GK MB500 head. It has nice definition in the upper mids. The tweeter is bright and I typically play it almost off, but a little does sound good. The low B sounds great with this cab. And it does have some of the low mid flavor some may associate with a 15. I am impressed with the balance of modern with the 15 vibe and at a very affortable price point.
