Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
I've had this cabinet for about six months now. I have it paired with the GK 2001RB bridged and bi-amped. This cabinet takes everything the 2001 has with capacity to spare. I love the cabinet design. It has a very nice transport bar in back with great heavy duty wheels so the cabinet is it's own dolly. The cabinet is fairly lightweight for its size but built like a tank and well protected. The 12s are the best of all combinations for my taste. A bit deeper than 10s but not muddy like 15s. Does this cabinet projects.OMG! I'm afraid of standing anywhere near this cabinet when I'm grinding it out. It has a punch I've never felt from any other cabinet I've had. The sound is solid. Great tone and getting lost in the mix would be impossible with this setup. For me it's all about articulation clarity and headroom. This cabinet provides all that. It is hard to ever think of any situation where I'd ever need anything more powerful than this. You would not believe how many bass players come up and check out this setup out when I'm on break. I do mean bass players that are in love with my setup! I have never had a situation (and I play some big venues) where I've had my amp past 4. This cabinet is a bone crusher. I play all 5 string these days and the low "B" kills. No speaker flutter at all. Just crazy killer punch and tone. I have had and could have anything I want at this point in my life but his GK setup puts everything else I've ever owned to shame!

Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
The 4 twelves is what I needed to add the depth I was searching for along with my other two cabs that included a 10" and horn each. Using a Hartke LH1000 head, sometimes Genz Benz, my sound has improve to the place that I like for the various genres of music. By the use of equalization, my active pickups on one of my fender basses, and placement of right hand fingers/pick I am more successful reaching truer musical sounds of the decades and genres that I play in my larger groups. The GK NEO 412 is definitely what I needed!
Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
The best one-cabinet setup I have ever used or tried out, regardless of cost. Tone is excellent,
it doesn't weigh a ton, and it's relatively easy to move around. In conjunction with a quality bass amp (mine is a GK 1001 RB mk.2) it is an outstanding sytem. I have received many compliments on the quality and power of my bass tone using this cab/head combination. I think that other good bass amps would also sound excellent through this cab, but I have yet to try any others.
Has everything I want, including bi-amp compatibility. The only feature lacking
is side handles, which would aid in close-quarter handling.
I take good care of my gear but don't baby it. After a year of regular use I have had zero problems.
I definitely got my money's worth out of this one thus far. Good value for money spent.
Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
This cabinet is replacing a well-used Warwick 4x10 and Eden 1x15. I never cared for messing about with two cabinets and would often end up only bringing the 4x10 to gigs. Maybe I'm lazy, but I don't like to be exhausted before I even play a note. My sets are pretty energetic and I need every drop of gas in my tank if I'm going to play the way I want. The prospect of hauling two cabinets back up, or down stairs after a set like that is not very appealing. The 4x12 takes care of that while still offering the full-range sound that I love. It's light enough that I can lift it into and out of the trunk of my car alone while delivering a sound that gives everything you ask of it. Since purchasing this cab I am reluctant to use a house backline as I have never been able to dial in anywhere close to the tone that my 1001 RBII into this cab. I also run a compressor and EQ. Perfect sound with very little messing about on different stages. A lot of rooms I've played require you to adjust your tone to the shape of the room. It seems like this thing very nearly re-shapes the room around you. I play both upright and electric basses through this with great success.
One note to the good people from GK: More handles please! They won't affect the weight drastically and will make tossing this deceptively manageable cabinet around immensely less awkward.
The listing mentions all the features and specifications so I won't go into what it has. What it doesn't have is really my only beef with this cabinet. The tilt-back wheels and bar handle are nice, but this is a big cabinet. As light as it is, this still makes for some awkward moments. I can easily muscle the thing around, but it could use two more sets of handles. A pair on the side, and a pair on the bottom (for stairs). Maybe it's just where I play, but I'm rarely on the ground floor. This means constantly hauling this thing up or down stairs. Don't get me wrong, the weight is unbelieveable for something of this size, but the single bar across the back just doesn't give me enough grip options for my liking. It's an easy fix to install a couple more handles, and I've done just that. I'm simply saying that it should have been done at the factory. I don't really like taking a jigsaw to a brand-new, thousand dollar cabinet, nor do I think that I should have to.
I've run GK stuff before with mixed results. Other GK reviews seem to tell similar stories. I fried my 1001 RBII to the tune of a $300 repair. No problems since though, and the sound is better than anything I've found (in my opinion). In the case of this cab the quality seems decent enough. Haven't had any problems yet, but the weight of the thing doesn't instill a lot of confidence. I know I shouldn't be complaining because it weighs next to nothing, but there's something about a heavier cabinet that makes me think, "Man, this thing could take a real beating".
You definitely get your money's worth, especially if you're running one of GK's bi-amp capable heads into it. It's light, LOUD, and crisp, yet with deep, thick bass. It's the cheapest of the 4x12 cabinets I found on this site and leaves little to be desired (aside from the afore-mentioned handles).
Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
I have been playing bass for 20+ years mostly in punk bands I have had Ampeg Cabs Hartke Cabs and SWR Cabs none of them have ever given me the tone control I wanted. I use this with a GK 1001rb and can control my highs and lows and mids with the Bi amp system. It's not just great for punk I also can get great control when I'm playing funk. If you want to waste money for years as I did looking for the perfect bass sound then go ahead but if you want to be able to compete with two guitar players on stageand a PA drummer and be heard with tone and control to get the exact sound you want this is the Cab for you I have played it with ampeg SVT 7 Pro but I like my GK 1001rb better. I have retired my ampeg now and am a GK fan. I play with a musicman Stingray 4 string mainly but also with Fender pbass and Jazzbass both 4 Fender jazz 5 and an Ibanez 6.
Strong light and powerful
Best cab I have ever owned
Ridiculous to think how much I have spent over the years on ampeg, swr,and Hartke cabs and how I was always dissapointed.
Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
I have owned all kinds of cabs. This one does it for me!! Honest I have never pushed this thing too far. The same weight as my mesa powerhouse 4x10 but twice the wattage/power. It will cut through the mix. "My Band Loves It !"
Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
Most people I know use the 1001-RBII with this head. I use the GK700RB-II and it sounds amazing (the peak power of the 700 is way higher than it's actual advertised ratings... I have the blown speakers to prove it 800-900 watts is my guess). I never have to worry about having a full PA anymore because I can power any house my band comes across. Thundering lows.. crisp highs. Works great with GK bi-amping. I laugh just a little bit every time I see an SVT/Ampeg 8x10 rig. They are just too hollow sounding for me. The 4x12 has all the bottom end I could ever want. I went from having the heaviest most annoying rig, to having the lightest rig in the band! It's lighter than my guitarists' and easier to transport.Get the GK NEO 4x12 NOW or hold out for the NEO 8x10 (1600watts power handling!). No matter what you choose, this line is pure gold, and you will never have to worry about your rig again. It's just epic, and it looks gorgeous on stage.Dream rig = two Neo 4x12s + GK 2001RB. Some day... some day...
Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
This cabinet thumps the stage. I was not a big fan of 12" speakers in a bass cab. I was sold on 4x10 cabs. Then came the Neo4x12! It changed everything. Not only has this cabinet made me a fan of 4x12's, It has converted me to Gallien-Krueger lover. The frequency response on this cab is unreal. I drive it with my Ampeg SVT 4Pro head in the bridge mono mode. This Neo cabinet handles it with ease. So if you like fat warm Marcus Miller sound, the Neo 4x12 is the cabinet for you!
Comments about Gallien-Krueger Neo 412 4x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
Ordered mine directly from GK...Puts my AMPEG 8x10 to shame. At a fraction of the weight. I had the GK GLK 8x10 and was afraid that I was going to be giving up that snarly Flea-like sound. The tweeters on this puppy really fill out the top end nicely, for that good ol GK "more of everything tone". Can handle 1200 watts, but the 1001RB-II (700 watts plus a 50 watt tweeter amp) does just fine.
