Decided on the GPT-PWR over the SKB. I'm pretty happy with the gator. I'm not a pro so I don't need a pro-size pedalboard. If you're gigging every day, you'll probably want to go with a bigger pedal board. But the gator is perfect for what I do. It will hold a max of about 6 pedals, unless you only use Boss pedals, then it will hold probably 8. I really like the design of this board, especially how the power supply is mounted underneath the board and the power cables feed through a slot on the front. That really cleans up the looks of your board and makes it a lot easier to tell which cables is being routed to which pedal. However the contruction of this board is a little shoddy. Particularly the edges of the board near the front. Also, the velcro strips that attach the pedals have a tendency to rip up the bottom half on the velcro. Just be careful when re-arranging or moving pedals once you've attached the velcro. Overall this a nice, bare-bones pedal board. You get power for your effects and that's it. I wouldn't reccomened this to a pro as it doesn't have a cable tester or a bypass for a tuner in the chain. But if you gig on the weekends or just want to clean up the mess of wires from you effects, buy this pedal board.

This board is a good buy for the price, however if you are a professional musician, think twice. I've had it for a couple of years and dissapointed with the choice of power supply and AC adaptor selection. The AC power adaptor has a very thin power chord that IS NOT professional grade and is very easy to break or short and does not last. The worse thing is that the power supply plug is not a standard 3-prong, but a very small, unique plug that cannot be found anywhere else. And yet worse, now that the power chord of the adapter has broken and shorted, I cannot find a replacement adaptor, looked online and can't find anyone that sells this type of adaptor and plug. So my power supply is useless. Gator does not sell replacements, Musicians friend neither. If I want to get my board up and running again, I have to buy a new power supply. Next time, I will select my own power supply that comes with a standard heavy duty cable that will hold up to gigs. Oh, and the plug for this adapter is so chintsy that unless you glue or tape the chord, it keeps coming undone in the middle of a show.
I'll go with VOoDoo labs or something similar.

Pedalboard

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

Like i said compared to others this pedalboard's a steal, would definitley grab another if it was stolen.
Comes with a power supply on the back, can hold a nice amount if pedals. I have a morley wah, an mxr eq, an overdrive, a distortion, and a delay, can hold about 5 or 6 stompboxes with a smaller wah.
Sturdy, looks clean, just nice and compact.
Compared to other pedalboards this ones a steal for the quality and price.

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

This pedlaboard works OK. My issue is it's poor quality. I bought this, and had it a few days before I had a chance to actually mount pedlas on it. I took it out of the bag a coupld times to look it over and plan what pedals to use on it. When I took it out of the bag to work on it, the "tolex' had started to peel off in a few places, and just taking it out the the bag had damaged the tolex in other places. While functionally acceptable, it falls far short of expectations in build quality. It's cheap construction isn't going to withstand the rigors of a working guitarist. Don't buy it.

May work for some

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

I agree with other reviewers that the construction of the Gator Powered Pedal Tote board itself is top-notch, and the velcro is DIESEL! Unless you're checking your pedal board on an airplane, this should keep your gear in good condition. It's a good value for the price. The problem is with the power supply. Although Gator provides individual jacks for each pedal, internally this is an unregulated, daisy-chained power supply. So, if you are using boutique effects with high-headroom gain stages and your power source at the wall is not absolutely pristine, you will experience 60-cycle hum. I found that I could hook up my first two stomp boxes (Retro-Sonic Compressor and Tech21 Tri A.C.) with an acceptable amount of noise, but as soon as I added another box with a gain stage (DLS RotoSim, Dr. Scientist Woofer Wailer), a swarm of angry hornets was unleashed. I live in New England, where every coffee house or tavern that my little vocal trio is likely to play has 100-year-old wiring (just like my apartment!), and coupled with my high-gain effects, this Gator power supply simply could not provide usable results. If you're running Boss boxes and don't have multiple overdrive/distortion/boost units in your chain, you'll probably be okay. Sadly, I had to send mine back, and am now in search of a regulated, isolated pedal board power supply (which will cost me three times what I paid for this Gator package).

If your pedals fit, this board is the...(stuff)

By Eric Carlson

from Coastal Carolina

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

This board is smaller than I expected, but it turned out to be a perfect fit for the seven pedals I use. So check the dimensions to make sure it's big enough. If so, you won't be disappointed. It's very sturdy and well designed, with the power supply pre-installed in just the right place underneath. Unfortunately, there's not enough clearance to attach the power adapter to the bottom of the board, so you have to put it on top or on the floor. No biggy. I play through two amps. My signal chain starts with a Hardwire tuner into a Radial BigShot ABY, with one output running clean into a Hardwire reverb and out to a Fender Blues Jr. The outher ABY out runs to an MXR Super Comp -->TS9 Tube Screamer -->MXR Phase 90 -->MXR Carbon Copy delay into the Hardwire reverb and out to a Vox Night Train. It's a tight fit with all the cable, but it works great. And the whole thing drops into the soft case for transport.

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

the board works rather nicely and has a clever design with the power supply on the underside, with the cables running through to the back. However, the included power supply is pretty average, the cable connecting the box to the wall is not professional quality. im going to end up replacing it with a Voodoo Lab power supply because the little power cable with the gator power supply is destined to break while on stage. My advice, get the gator pedal board WITHOUT the power supply and spend the extra money on the voodoo lab

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

I use/transport my board every week. For 2 yrs of bar room/club use it has shown minimal wear. Mostly on the nylon case corners. The board is sturdy and compact enough to work around on a crowded stage, yet has the room for two rows of pedals. I dropped the board on the top corner from about 4 feet up while loading into a gig and while the corner took the blow (cracked wood and split tolex)the petals were all good. I think you would be hard pressed to find another board with features and quality this good.

Incredible Pedal Board

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

I am a gigging musician (a harmonica player) who plays through an octave pedal, a power booster, a special preamp and delay by Lone Wolf Pedals, and also a Vox Wah-Wah pedal. This thing has never failed on me once and I've been using it for gigging for quite awhile now. It is not too heavy even with the pedals. It also has double sided velcro where one side is sticky to keep your pedals still. The powered part of the board is also fantastic. All in all, a great pedal board if you don't use a million pedals. Just get your patch cables and you are set to go!!!

      Someone FINALLY got it right!!!

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

So far I have done 3 gigs using this product and I am so glad to have it! It has just enough room for two rows of 4 Boss pedals and I am running exactly 8 of them. I simply set my Vox wah before it and my line 6 delay modeler after it since those two boxes are rather large. The first row has my tuner, overdrive, distortion, and tremolo pedals and I run from this row into my amp. The second row has my chorus, harmonist, flanger, etc for my effects loop. Then its out thru the delay pedal and back to the loop in. The power supply is securely bolted to the bottom of the board as pictured on this site. It has worked perfectly so far and I feel it is a good quality unit. The supplied cords are plenty long enough to reach my boxes and I use bread ties to keep them tidy underneath everything. My only complaint is that these have straight plugs on them. This makes it more difficult to have 2 rows but barely fits with Boss units. Angled plugs like those found on the one spot would be better. The handle is really sturdy and the bag is also very tough. The pocket is large enough for some cords and other junk you may need such as adaptors. The entire top surface is velcro so you can place your gear however you wish. I wish this had been available much sooner because it saves me alot of time during set up. If you like using real pedals and are sick of stringing them along all over the stage---GET THIS THING!!!

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

This is a very neat pedal board if you need to save space and money. I grabbed this pedalboard in a rush, and it saved me when I needed it most. It isn't as practical as it could be. For starters, you have to shove the actual pedalboard into the carrying case, which is sturdy, but the threading unfurls easily. Also, the actual carrying case itself is pretty hard to manipulate when trying to open up the case on the fly. The pedalboard itself is sturdy, and the power brick underneath the wood is really useful and helpful. Overall, this is simple, efficient and for the price very reasonable. However, I would only purchase this pedalboard again if I needed one on the fly.

Comments about Gator GPT-PWR Powered Pedal Tote Pedal Board with Carry Bag:

        I've used this for years.
I always had the power lines taped underneath the board as to not yank off, and the wall-wart velcroed upside down on the top of the board. I then plug a cheap extension cord into it to the wall.
I read some reviews about the power connector being fragile so I took a look and took off a piece of duct tape. Yes, I guess it looks fragile if you are going to be pulling on it connecting the wall wart to the actual wall - but I never did this because the AC cable is short and looks fragile.
So i guess the moral of the story is that this board works great - don't pull on the AC adapter.
I attached some pics..the black duct tape looks awful but it's under the board and works perfect - for many years.
The power supply attached underneath has never given me any problems over the years no matter what pedals I use.
There are plenty 9v and three 18v. outs.
Has really big velcro closed pocket. It's big enough for patch cords and an extension cord etc..
Side note - I recently added a strip of the velcro fur along the top to make more area. Nothing was broken, just had a huge roll of velcro tape from work so it did make it look perfect.

Didn't need a huge board, ordered this one based on the cost and what all was included. Currently have 5 pedals mounted, 4 single size and one dual size and have room for 2 more singles if needed. Mounted the plug in transformer under the unit to keep it self contained. Carry bag is good quality and the velcro so far has kept everything in place above expectations. Only two things i would like to see would be the power cord needs to be longer and there are probably 6-7 9v adapater cords included and only 1 18v cord. would like to see at least 2 18v adapater cords. Overall very happy with puchase, so far would buy again.
