I can honestly say that I've either owned or tried all the volume pedals out there; this is the best available. It's built like the proverbial tank and does not alter your tone at all. What goes in comes out with this unit. Most of the volume pedals suck tone from your guitar. This George Dennis pedal is the cleanest and quitest volume pedal I've come accross in the last 30 years. I am currently using it for my acoustic guitar rig which includes effects and loopers. The George Dennis pedal has optical circuitry and can be used in line with your other pedals or used in an effects loop. I use a volume pedal as an integral part of my music style for chord swells and violin effects used in conjunction with an e-bow, so it ahs to be dead quiet mechanically and not alter the guitar signal. This is the best!
