I used a Peavey Tmax for about 15 years until I finally realized that I wanted to invest in a new amp. What I loved about my Peavey was the simplicity: pre-gain, post gain, high, and low. The LH1000 follows the same philosophy except you gain a mid control and lose a pre-gain. Nevertheless, dialing in a tone has been very easy with this amp. You can really add a lot of volume by just turning the eq knobs up. I use this amp primarily with an Ampeg 112 cabinet, and it gives me lots of headroom along with the ability to blend in to the live mix while not getting buried or blowing everything else in the band out creating a volume war between drums, guitar, and bass. I play professionally, so I wanted an amp I could rely on, and so far I have had no issues. I tried this cabinet with a Hartke Hydrive 112, and I didn't love it, so don't abandon your old cabinet because you want everything to match. Try it out first. This amp really took my favorite parts of the Tmax, added a mid control, and tons of power. I hope that this amp will have the longevity my Tmax did. Also, kind of a weird thing about this amp is that the first few gigs that I used it on, the amp had a slightly strange bandaid smell. It has gone away since I have used the amp at many gigs since it was probably something from the manufacturing process getting burned off as the amp got warm.

Bought this amp as Blemished, but it said it would work all fine, like if it was a new one. After using it about 6 times, it lowers the volume while playing it, like it loses power in the middle of use, and once it even turned off.

Comments about Hartke LH Series LH1000 1000 Watt Hybrid Bass Amp Head:

This is the real deal for a bassist running an active bass and serious cab. It is scary good at dialing in an amazing overall tone, and will accommodate your crazy tones with ease; it will also run two different cabs simultaneously, which is insane. Personally, I use it as my main gigging head, mostly with my 610hlf for most bar gigs. However, it also provides versatility. I can run it with my 410hlf as well, and can run them both at the same time, with a panning knob on the amp to allow me to tweak how much power goes where. It's a miracle amp, really. It actually sounds better the expensive SWR and preamp setup I ran for around 10 years (and which I was convinced that I would never leave), but it has so much more power and is less expensive than almost anything out there; let alone that beats most amps in pure sound quality, regardless of price, that I had to buy it. Worth. Every. Penny. If you're logical and on the fence, I can tell you after owning and gigging regularly with the LH that it's legit. You will not be disappointed in the quality, and unlike many others in this price range, this will last forever; pots, fans, everything is quality. This will last.

Comments about Hartke LH Series LH1000 1000 Watt Hybrid Bass Amp Head:

This is a great head that is simple to use and has just the right amount of features for me. I will be using this with a Hartke Bass Attack pedal that goes very well with the head. Overall a great buy, and I would guess that this is the most watts for the $$ of anything current available on the market.

Comments about Hartke LH Series LH1000 1000 Watt Hybrid Bass Amp Head:

As a metal bass kind of guy, I was looking for a head that would fit all my needs (performance, recording, and general jamming), and let me tell you, I found it when I first heard this baby being used on stage by another local musician. I knew right then and there, I had to have one. I took the plunge and ordered, and was not disappointed. It is hands down the most simple yet fully functional piece of bass equipment I own.

The tones you can get out of it are diverse, the amount of power is incredible, the controls are easy to use and understand, and the beauty achieved in its simplicity is stunning.

This IS the head you've been looking for. Hartke is amazing, and I thank them for putting out this fantastic product.

Comments about Hartke LH Series LH1000 1000 Watt Hybrid Bass Amp Head:

I'm 45; been playing 20+ years. Note that this amp has a fender-style tone stack: learning the EQ is a process, but it's fun and rewarding.

The ability to blend the A and B speaker outputs makes for great flexibility, allowing you to use non-identical cabinets and adjust them to taste, and/or to add cabinets as your needs change. (It's generally understood that more cabs is the path to more sound, not more amp - so consider also the LH500 if you dont need this much of a beast.)

And oh yeah: did I mention? It'll massage your internal organs and vibrate the neighbors' beds a few houses away if you don't exercise restraint.

Oh, the endless joys of fat clean bottom end. I don't deserve this wonderful gear, but you do!

I bought a nice little road case to lug it around in, and am glad I did.

Comments about Hartke LH Series LH1000 1000 Watt Hybrid Bass Amp Head:

This thing is a keeper. I've tried a lot of different setups, amps, cabs, combos. Playing with 3 guitars is difficult to be heard sometimes. When I first bought this amp it worked great. I have it running bridged out through (1) Hartke 4x10 cab and daisey chained to (1) Ampeg 4x10 cab but, some screws worked themselves out of the amp. I called up Musician's Friend and they were more then happy to help me out and send another amp in exchange. I actually had to play 2 more gigs with it before I sent it back. If you are looking for an all around great sounding amp with plenty of volume and power at a very reasonable price, this is it! And if you need more of a recommendation, listen to Dave from Megadeth or Frank from Anthrax.

Comments about Hartke LH Series LH1000 1000 Watt Hybrid Bass Amp Head:

I purchased this amp almost 3 years ago in my local music store, with two Hartke cabs (4x10 and 1x15). i was in a band at the time and we were playing some pretty big gigs, which is why i needed so much power. needless to say, i had more than enough. this head is amazing. i don't need a lot of features and presets, so this head is perfect for me. the tone, the tube and valves, the power, the direct XLR output, everything about it. no its not an ultra-light, but its worth every pound!! for its class and price bracket, i'm not sure you'll find a better sounding amp.
