Hand-wired, classic tube sound from across the pond - or is it the dark side of the moon?
Based on the Custom 50 head, but with special modifications as commissioned by Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd himself, the DG-504 adds a bit of modern sophistication to the classic performance amplifier. In addition to the Bass, Treble, Presence and Master Volume controls, the DG-504 uses a specially linked input system, where the gain of each channel can be altered to suit different musical styles. Built using Partridge transformers, 4 x ECC-83 tubes in the preamp section, 2 x EL-34 tubes in the power stage, and is rated at 50 watts output, with switchable 4, 8 & 16 ohms impedance.
A look inside the amplifier will reveal point-to-point hand wiring, turret tag boards (no printed circuits), and hand laced wiring harnesses. The power and output transformers are manufactured by Partridge, the original 1970's supplier to the original design sheets. The components and wires are the modern available equivalents of the vintage components, 1-watt carbon resistors, and wound polyester capacitors being used throughout.

as a professional touring musician, i must say...this amp is untouchable by any and all other manufacturers so called guitar amps..the tone is superior, unmatched reliability, and a bottom end that is the most solid i've ever encountered !! good luck to all the other amps in ever trying to catch up with HIWATT !!!!!
I've tried all the others. There is none better!! BUT... If you want to use digital effects with this amp, don't bother to buy it. I hooked a Vox Tonelab SE up to it that sounds really good through other amps and it was wimpy. Then I dug out my full analog pedal board and it turned into a MONSTER!! Unbelievable!! Bottom end THUMP that is unreal and singing highs like no other amp!! Will you sound like David Gilmour? No. You're not him. Will you sound the best you can through an amp? Absolutely! Be advised, if your playing is not up to par, you will hear it. But, if your playing is good.....WOW!!! Yep, it's expensive. BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
This thing sounds absolutely HORRABLE; after spending 2 weeks with it, I could not manage to find a single usable note with any of my guitars (usa strats and teles, gretches, esp and jackson customs, an kxk warrior... just to name my favorits). this amp (if you even want to call it that) is dull flat and lifeless sounding through any cabinet (avatars with eninance legends and mesa oversized cabs with vintage 30s); I have honestly heard better tone out of headphone amps. do yourself a favor and stay far away.
