I have bought this amp for my son and I will keep it for my self it is an excellent amp you need to buy this.
A friend had this amp. I tried it and bought one immediately. I have used my H&K amp for ten years in dingy dives and pro-studios alike. It has never failed nor required any service or adjustment. It sounds like a Twin on the clean channel... like a high-gain Marshall on the other. I have copious experience playing with and still own Twins, Marshall's, Hi-Watts, so I speak from experience. I also have experience carrying, or paying someone to carry those great old amps. If I have to lug one to gig in a bar or jam session, this is my default amp. Effects are decent. Reverb is good. It is German engineered but made in Korea. I usually go out of my way to buy American-Made products, but this thing is so good, I made an exception. It sounds, reacts and "feels" like my best tube amps, but without the hassle of tube-replacement, biasing or inconsistent tone. They make a higher wattage model with a 12" speaker if you need a little more juice. It?s simple and sounds GREAT! Highly recommended!
An excellent practice amp. Decent cleans and fun overdrive too. The clean channel also will crunch a bit at high settings. Cool for a solid state amp. The built in effects add to a fun little package that is hard to resist at the sale price.Does it sound like tubes, no. But for what I needed around the house, it is perfect. Don't expect to gig with it but that is not what I bought it for.
I got this amp a few days ago. I started out with the clean channel and it was great! That's a plus because I hardly ever talk about clean sounds. The distortion is top noch. It's what a tube amp should sound like. The onboard effects are amazing! I've gotten sounds similar to U2's The Edge and Rush's Alex Lifeson. All in all, great amp. I'm now an H & K customer for life.
I've been playing with this bad boy for 3 months now and this amp sounds twice as good, and looks three times more sleek than any other amp at this price. It has clean, distortion, chorus, delay, and flanger. Pretty much everything you need for a beginner, oh... and it's LOUD!
For the clearance price the sound and quality are very hard to beat. This thing is really loud and it acts like a tube amp..when you crank up the master volume it breaks into tube like distortion. Seems to be well built the controls are smooth like on higher priced amps.
