I have the 100 watt head version of the Matrix. hands down the best sounding solid state head ever built. Sounds better than any Marshall to my ears. I also have an EVH 5150 III that sounds incredible but the Matrix head stands very well on it's own as a solid state amp. I never had good luck with Marshall's. They're all so tempermental and all sound different. Grab a Matrix if ya can!
I just got this amp and fell in love. I hooked it up to my Ibanez and woke the neighbors up. If there is a perfect amp, This is it, The Tone says it all. I have been buying a lot of different amps and I have to say this one blew me away. Tube amps have nothing on this 100 watt 1-12 combo. The clean is clean and then there are 4 levels of effects to tweak to your hearts desire and just push the next channel button and it saves the previous setup without any other user input. You dont have to learn to program it. If you want to change that channel just turn any of the effects dials to whatever setting you like and move to the next channel. Its so easy I can even do it..The channel settings are saved as long as the dials arent moved. Isnt this how all amps should work. But then there is the sound, the sweet sweet sound I am thinking about taking it apart to see if it really is a tube amp. If you try one you will want one. They are worth every penny. You didnt really think an amp this good would be cheap did you. I have waisted a lot of money searching for an awsome cheap amp. Well there are none. Save yourself a lot of time and money and buy a Matrix. It can do anything you want it to. Marshall and fender have nothing on Hughs & Kettner.
