A flip of the Drive switch is all it takes to go from clean to mean. The power amp sports oversized transformers and a 12BH7 dual triode that operates in push-pull mode. If you need to keep it soft in the studio or make it loud in the rehearsal room or on stage, the Red Box and power-soak are on board to feed true power amp tone straight to the desk.

I purchased the Tubemeister 5 from MF along with one other item; a Tung Sol 12AX7. Both are winners! The Tung Sol opened up the amp and gave it a much better sound than the stock Chinese tube. I have to keep reminding myself that the TM5 is a class A/B amp and therefore responds a little smoother than the 5 watt class A amps that I have. It is definately nice to have a full EQ section instead of just a tone knob or nothing at all. It has A LOT of clean headroom and the lowest gain settings on the drive channel start where the highest gain settings on the clean channel leave off. Very nice! I also like the fact that I'm having a hard time deciding whether I like it better with single coils or humbuckers. It really sounds great with both as a good amp should. The Tubemeister 5 is a great amp that covers everything from Fender clean to, well, Hughes and Kettner!
