Comments about Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister TM36H 36W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
I have been playing professionally for over 40 years and have tried dozens of amps over the years. My preference in sound: bell-like/chimy clean sounds with two level of overdrive all at the touch of a footswitch for live playing. This does it. DEFINITELY buy the footswitch if you are going to use this live. My favorite guitar sounds...think Duane "Live at the Filmore". I have a Suhr Badger 18 watt which sounds great, but with no footswitching, it is good for studio work only, as I do NOT like to use pedals to achieve distorted sounds. Also the Badger just doesn't have enough headroom for clean (I play through a 4/12" vintage Marshall greenback cab--yeah that helps!) at only 18 watts. So, with the Tubemeister, I can select full 36 watts for clean and 18 watts for the crunch and lead channels (or 18 watts clean and 10 watts for the distortion channels in small gigs). What is the sound like? Try a Marshall 50 Watt plexi cranked to 10, but without killing people. Actually, I like this better! More gain can be had, if you want it. If you think you need more than 36 watts, mic it. I can manipulate it enough to sound great with both my Les Paul and my Strat. I am completely enamored with this little head AND it is so easy to carry around. The effects loop works well with my Fx pedals. The reverb is remarkably good for a non-spring. My only complaint: the tone controls don't have as wide of a range of change as I would prefer.

Comments about Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister TM36H 36W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
The last time I owned a Hughes & Kettner was the original Triamp. I loved the amp but it was super loud. For the money this amp is just awesome. Reverb works great and all the options it has make it a bargain. Great little Carry bag and this amp can easily play any small venue. You also have the ability to change wattages which is great as well.
I have been really impressed with this little amp, and it will not let you down. The Red Box out allows you to go straight to the PA as well as the ability to record with no speaker load. I have several amp and amps that cost way more than this one, but for the money this is hands down a stellar purchase.

Comments about Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister TM36H 36W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
This is honestly the best amp I've ever played.
The 3 channels are great and works for all my guitars. From Archtops, Les Pauls and Strats. My Danelectro Baritone also sounds great with it.
It can go anywhere from the nice Fender clean all the way to metal if desired. I mainly use it from clean to classic/hard rock tones.
The MIDI function is great. I'm using a Tech 21 Midi Moose with it. You can pre-program the power attenuator, reverb, and fx loop. I use the Clean for the Fender sound, then for the crunch/lead I turn the reverb off and use the gain to my taste. But you can program tons of different "patches" for different songs and ideas.
I also like the Tube Bias Control. This ensures that the tubes are working to their fullest potential and it's very easy to change the tubes. Just pull them out and put them in. As easy as that.
This amp is such a steal. Sure beats buying a high end Fender or Marshall stack. I use it with the Hughes & Kettner 112 Cab and that works great. It will work in any setting like it states. Home, studio, and live. It covers all those so well. Of course it sounds better cranked but even at 1watt it sounds great.
All in all, unless a find a better amp in my lifetime I would be happy with this for the rest of my life.

Comments about Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister TM36H 36W Tube Guitar Amp Head:
Channel two died on the second day. Muscian's Friend was great about the exchange and had a new one to me quickly. This amp has super cleans with a seperate eq, a great crunch channel with a seperate channel, and the lead channel is just perfect (even though it shares the EQ from the crunch channel it has a tone shift to it.) all 3 channels have seperate gain and master volumes. It is lighweight, has a carry/gig bag, the tubes auto bias and with a guitar pick you check the tubes "health" , it also lets you know what tubes are starting to go weak , the number "grade" of the tubes you need to replace them with.
Led switches on the back for 36/18/5/silent mode.
Using a F/S works well , I like the midi funtion F/S , you can set the channel , the reverb, the effects loop, and the power wattage and store that in the midi pedal. I use three settings clean \,crunch,and lead, then 4 variations of each. A Tech 21 Midi mouse works perfectly for me ,I know 1-3,4-6,7-9,10-12
are three different settings of clean , crunch , lead, simple and effective.
