This amp really is meant for a beginner, which is just what i was when i bought it. it is small, sorta quiet and very easy to understand. however, there are many cons to this amp. they are...1.Presence knob does nothing at all.2.Makes a loud popping noise when turned on or off.3.Not very loud at all. However...4.INCREDIBLY LOUD BUZZ. its just unbearable. you cant even turn the treble up more than halfway. if you do, you wont be able to hear yourself think. overall, this amp is just a semi-decent beginner amp. nothing special, but it gets the job done. NOT TO BE USED IN LIVE GIGS

I've had this amp for two years, and it just died. It rattled right out of the box. The tone it produces is not what you actually sound like, so that makes you practice less. It has many features and is very very good if you plug in headphones. Plug in a CD/MP3 player and some headphones and you're good to go.

See all my reviews

Pros

  • Good Mini Pa
  • Good Tone
  • Great For Acoustic Guitar
  • Just Add Mixer For Mini P
  • Loud Enough For Practice

Cons

  • It is What it is

Best Uses

  • Mini Pa Adding Mixer
  • Practice Amp For Bass

Use for practice or playing with acoustic players when using as a bass amp. Good P/A for small to medium rooms for speaking or solo performers. Great for farmers market type gigs. For low power amplification it works well.

Great Amp

By Anonymous

This is a great beginner amp. I've had it for about a year and it's surprisingly loud. It pisses off everyone in my apartment complex, so it's loud enough for me. Great for practice. Does just what it's built to do.

not that great

By Bad Magick

i've had this amp for about a year. The thing i hate about this amp is that it has got the worst buzz i've ever heard. other than that, i like the cd input and the gain. If you get rid of the buzz it would be a great amp.

Awesome for practicing

By HoellesBestrafer

I've had this a few weeks, and for its size and cost, it produces suprisingly loud, clear sound. This is really great for new players who are just starting and experienced players alike.

I've been playing guitar a few years now, and I just recently decided to start up the bass. I purchased this amp plus the Rogue violin bass, and what a great combination. The amp is very quiet and loud for a budget price. This is a perfect amp for any Bass beginner

Good practice amp

By Jon-B-g.r

This amp is a good amp for beginners because it is basic and it is small. It's good to use for practicing but be sure to have a larger one for gigs or else you'll have to use two amps to keep up. So if you're starting out this is a good amp but remember that later on you'll need to get a more powerful amp.

I recommend it for newer players. It's the amp I started out with and it serves well as a practice amp now.

Decent practice amp

By ka0ttic

I've had the Ibanez SW20 roughly 6 months and it has served me well thus far. I was a little suprised with how loud this thing gets. You can just barely get away with using it with a drummer. I'd recommend this amp for anyone looking for a decent practice amp for a decent price.

Pretty Good amp....

This amp is a pretty good practice amp but I wouldn't recommend it for shows because everyone else will drowned you out. The only really negative thing about this amp is that it has a pretty bad buzzing sound in it. Ive noticed that the CD input jacks when in use slightly turn down the volume of your bass but really isn't all that bad. Overall a great practice amp but wouldn't recommend it for live shows.

The amp is overall pretty good, the only thing I don't like is that humm..other that that the features are good. Great practice Amp.

Decent

By Anonymous

I have had this thing for six months and I loved it at first. I hate the noise this thing puts off when I put it above 5 on the volume. The high ends sound muddy, but its great for the first little bit of playing.

decent, but humm is annoying

By ned-Bh8Px

It's got the right features, CD in, headphone out.Sounds really good for the money. But, it humms all the time which is annoying.I would gladly use it for coffee house gigs if there were no humm.
