I use this amp with a boss metal zone distortion pedal and man does it sound awsome. It gets loud enough for practices. I have had it for a year and nothing has happended to it. It's a good amp.
About 3 years ago, I decided to buy a decent solid state amp to use alongside my tube amps (Fender twin-reverb, budda 2x12, gibson goldtone) on stage. Let's face it: I'm a tone freak. I do whatever I can to make my tone sound as good as it can. I really like the sound of this amp because it balances well with good tube amps. If you use a number of tube amps on stage, I highly reccommend you buy this as well because of its low-end. The partially close backed cabinet really helps the bass slap at you...the response is great. I don't know how this amp would sound with other guitars...I only use a collection of vintage and custom fenders on stage, but I'm sure it could sound great no matter what. Two things I wasn't so happy about: 1. Reverb - there is only one substitute for reverb that isn't spring reverb or natural reverb in a good hall, and that is the electro-harmonix holy grail. buy it with this amp. 2. After a while, this amp started to get a slight hum and hiss, but this is easily cleaned up by a Boss NS-2 (the third of my rig) in the effects loop. I like the three band eq on both channels, although I rarely use more than the boost overdrive on the clean. I just don't like distortion...overdrive beats distortion...no contest. I like this amp a lot, check it out.
I traded in the Ibanez 10watt amp that I received when I bought my Ibanez guitar and then I got the Tone Blaster 50 for Christmas two years ago. It works very well. When I have it in my room and you turn up the bass, you can feel the floor vibrate. I use this amp along with my Ibanez guitar and the zoom GFX-5 effects processor. Sounds great. If you are a beginner guitarist and are buying supplies for the first time, I would recommend this amp. It is a good starter along with sound effects using the clean channel. Do not use guitar effects along with the overdrive channel because it will sound overdistorted(does not sound very good). Other than that I think any beginner or guitarist who likes to play for the fun of it will like this amp.
i bought the ibanez tone blaster for the power but i got more then that! this amp has very powerfull overdrive and the boost realy brings this amp alive for the chours or loud parts of the songs. however this amp has limited effects (reverb) but if u need all the effects then you should buy pettals to get the perfect tones that you are looking for. over all this amp is loud and has good sound and best of all it is very mobile with the small size of it.
i love this amp its only a 50watt but it sounds like a 70 or even 80 watts of power is in it
i like this amp because of its nice distortion sound, I use it for a rhythm distortion, the clean i'm not so fond about, but it's still an excellent buy. If you're looking for a loud amp at a not so loud price, this is the amp.
OMG! This amp was perfect! The overdrive is freakin' great! It goes great with my Ibanez GSA60 Electric Guitar. The reverb, overdrive, and clean all sound perfect. I highly suggest this amp!
I have owned this guitar now for 2 years and I have yet to hear any wearing of the speaker.I own a Silvertone Paul Stanley Apocalypse Special And they sound Great Together. I also own a Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processer. If You Buy all these and put them together It Sounds GREAT!
this amp kicks like a mule, superb distortian, bell-like tones. very nice clean channel and the reverb is top notch. built to last. an impressive buy, to say the least.
it's a great hardcore amp, good for heavy stuff. but on the clean channel, it could be a little too heavy if you have it cranked up.
I got one about a month ago, its one of the best amps I have ever played. The amount of different sounds and tones you can get are amazing. The footswitch it comes with works well for switching from clean to overdrive. The overdrive channel is great for all kinds of metal and classic rock. Its one of the best amps for its price.
I use this amp for practices when I can't get my rig assembled. It is an incredible amp and I have recently added the TB100R to my rig for some shows. Check this amp out its a killer.
I recieved this last Christmas as a gift. I had waited until now to see if I could find anything wrong with this product and to see if there were any minor flaws that anyone should know about. Well, I could have used the same feelin I had about this amp from day one. Its freaking sweet, the overdrive, and the reverb are awesome, and having a footswitch is great to. It has the option to send to a mixer board for effects, and a return from that board of course. It also features the possiblilty to add another footswitch for your overdrive Mid and reverb changing. You can also send all 50 watts of beauty out to another external speaker, should you be lucky enough or want to do so. The sound is awesome, and whatever you want to paly you can do on this amp. My friend can even run his bass through it with minimal tone loss, and the speaker has great tone. It is fairly sturdy, made of 3/4" plywood with metal corner protectors. I love this amp, no problems after 1 year that I can even think of, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something better than your typical 15-25 watt starter amp.
I have owned this amp for half a year now. It is very good amp for the price. best thing in this amp is the clean channel. If you can play, this amp can make you sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan. The overdrive channel is pretty good too. Lots of bottom end. Good for all kinds of metal. Overall this amp is very good for the price, maybe the best amp what you can get under $300.
I bought this amp 2 years ago to play my Ibanez AFST75 hollowbody electric through. And it sounds great. The footswitch helps to get that sound you want and I use a digitech RP50 guitar effects processor that is connected to the input in the back of the amp. This is a great sounding guitar amplifier and it will crank up loud if you need it to. I highly recomend this guiar amplifier for the beginner guitar player that's getting started and even the professional player. I've been playing the guitar for 40 years and this amp really works great.
