The Ibanez Tube King guitar pedal also includes a 12AX7 tube for true tube distortion.

This OD has a sweet sound but you have to find it. The classic controls are all there (Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Presents and level). There is also a sensitivity switch. This unit sounds best overdriving the sound and like tube amps has a sweet spot. once you pass the sweet spot it goes into more of a distorted sound and looses the articulation. The case is large and is diamond shaped. Not very conducive for pedal boards. On pedal boards it works out better if you mount it on a 45 degree angle. so it only takes up a 7" x 7" space of your valuable real estate. It also weights a pound or two.

This is a really nice pedal. I wanted something that I could take with me and give all my amps that wonderful tube sound. I also really like all the controls to change the tones and sounds. For the cons, the pedal is huge! It takes up a big chunk of my pedal board. The pedal is also not white like the pictures, it is more of a cream/brownish color. I think anyone would like this pedal especially if you want that tube sound.

I bought this pedal with high hopes and I must say it has exceeded my expectations completely! The tone it gives not only gives you the exact sound of an overdriven tube amp, but it goes further by offering various different tonal colours to really help you shape your tone, and they all sound wonderful; however, I would warn you that this isn't a metal pedal at all. It offers some fantastic medium gain tones and it can even be a boarderline fuzz pedal if you tweak the controls right, plus, the tone this pedal provides can be great for metal if you combine it with another medium gain pedal. I would highly reccomend this pedal for any genre you want to play with it and I know it will be a permanent part of my pedal board.
The TK999OD has just about every feature you could possibley think of throwing into it! It has all the normal level and gain controls but the 3 band Eq, Hi-Lo switch, and Pressense knob really make this pedal a great buy!
The metal housing is very rugged and the finish, glass tube screen, and jacks are all very durable, plus, the gain and level knobs are almost flat to the surface of the pedal, keeping them out of harms way. It's a very smart design.
Even though it's not made in Japan or the US, the price is great considering it's a tube overdrive pedal and because the quality is outstanding it really doesn't matter where it's made.

This pedal warms any solid state amp up considerably. The value is not to be underestimated if your looking to get complex harmonics and overtones along with loads of creamy overdrive. it's a keeper.
Only drawback is it's enourmous size. Forget adding it to a pedalboard. This requires it's own floor space..Mine is not white like the illustration in the ad but a light beige color. I would have prefered snowy white.
Add this to the front end of any digital amp and you've got genuine tube tone for days.
Hi- Lo swithch will boost any single coils to shred like humbuckers. Built in EQ functions perfectly. You can scoop the mids and chunk up the bottom with ease. Runs cool even with the tube.
Recessed knobs will avoid being stepped on. On- Off switch set on the corner makes for easy stomp. Bult like a tank and heavy as well.
Tons of tube tone for about the right price.

I run this pedal on the high side of my Acoustic amp, and it is truly amazing.I can use it in combination with the gain of the amp and go anywhere from chunky clean rhythm to great chunk and sustain with an increase in gain.This pedal gives a solid state amp a very good feel of a tube amp.With the diversity of this unit ,you can get a vast amount of different tones from your guitar.It is probably one of the best built pedals out there.

If this unit is half the quality and tone of the heavier dist red HT it is a 5 star choice. I was blown away by the TK999HT red box and I want this OD asap. These puppies are amazing quality and tone, and this is a HIGH current tube compared to anything else that uses a tube, someone keeps tagging it wrong, or the one reviewer who was obviously using the wrong power supply. These are high current 12v 400mA draws, no brick or avg wart can supply them! Current is stepped up to 100v inside which is rather amazing in a floor pedal. Tube King rules and Ibanez has a new fan!

I use a Fender Superchamp, and/or a Line 6 Spider III. Works well with both on their clean channels. Priced right to try with a solid state amp. It's an extra pre amp tube for the Superchamp. Own it only 4 months, no complaints.Helped dial in the sound I was looking for.
