Comments about Ibanez TSA Series 30W Guitar Head:

I was looking for a 6L6 based amp and this Ibanez TubeScreamer nailed it. I sampled it through the Seventy80 that comes in the Combo version and was blown away. I play it through my 2x12 with a V30 & Creamback and it sings. My JVM410H is jealous as it's rarely plugged in anymore.

Do yourself a favor and go play this amplifier somewhere or just buy the darn thing. For the price this is the best bang for the buck I've ever seen.

The only almost con is the white tolex/faux leather. It's REALLY easy to mar/scratch/mark, so be careful unless you like that broken in road worn look. I'm seriously considering getting the Ibanez IL15 to round out my dream tube stack (EL34 in the JVM, 6L6 in the TSA and EL84 in the Ibanez IL15, still love Vox too though, so many choices).

Reminder that a great tube amp need not be a Fender.

Comments about Ibanez TSA Series 30W Guitar Head:

I love this amplifier. I use the 212 twin cabinet of the same line, comes with Celestion Seventy-80 speakers.
What sold me on this amp was its clean sound: warm, with tons of headroom. The 15-watt version has only treble and bass control, while this amp features a midrange control, which I think is crucial, given the sound this amp produces. When you put all the knobs at 12-o'clock, the amp is wonderfully warm and loud, but can do with a bit of scooping in the mid-range, depending on the sound you're going for. So a Mid control is an excellent feature.
This amp also has a front-end gain control, which the 15-watt version doesn't have. This lets you get some breakup without having to crank the volume. What this amp will not really do is overdrive simply through volume. The power tubes are 6T6, which I understand gives tons of headroom. This is fine for me--I personally don't like an amp to breakup early just through volume. If that's your thing, a Blues Junior might be the ticket.
I chose the Ibanez over a Blues Junior because of the cleaner power tubes, and also because of the effects loop. One thing to keep in mind about the TSA 30: the effects loop is BEFORE the pre-amp, which is a bit daft in my opinion. If you're going to use a delay, it might not work ideally when you're getting all your distortion from the gain setting. The effects loop does come after the Tubescreamer circuit, so that should be your overdrive.
This amp does not come with any on-board reverb or delay. You're getting a built-in Tubescreamer, which is the only on-board effect. This leaves you free to add your own delay or reverb effects.
I am sold on the Tubescreamer. I use it in combination with an MXR '78 distortion pedal, giving me some awesome, though not overpowering, classic rock distortion. The on-board boost circuit is an added bonus, acting as a boost pedal if you spring for the footswitch.
I do think the tubes are a bit cheap.
After breaking in, this amp is a delight to play.
