Jet City Amplification

Raw power in a bite-sized package.

The Jet City JCA2112RC is a "combo" of the JCA20H and JCA12S, with tube-driven reverb included. Easy-access speaker connectors on the rear panel allow the JCA2112RC combo amp to drive external speaker cabs either with or without the internal Jet City Eminence Custom driver. Stacked on an additional JCA12S, the speaker volume doubles and the added height brings the controls to arm's length in a small club. For ease of use at live gigs controls are top-mounted, and all Jet City combos include real, tube-driven spring reverb.

Jet City's keep-it-simple approach to tube amp design speaks for itself. With simple controls, cool cosmetics, and sensible pricing, this 20-watt Jet City amplifier offers a taste of the good life, at a fraction of the cost. Each tube guitar amp is meticulously hand-built and rigorously tested, ensuring 100% legit tone, and unflinching reliability.

Heavy Little Beast

| Review By: Rand Rueter | 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Features:

This amplifier was purchased to use in places where I didn't want to take my old Mesa Subway Blues amps, ie, bars with sloppy drunks and other equipment hazards. Its a good little amp, but hugely heavy for it's small size. Not fun to carry out at the end of an evening. It sounds better with my Strats than it does with my 335 family Gibsons because it has to be up a bit to get tone and the Strats have less to lose with overdriven preamp. It was a cheap solution to a problem, and I would probably buy another on,e if I had roadies instead of having to carry it around myself. If you turn the preamp section up, it sounds alot like an old 60s single 12 Fender .

Quality:

Seems to be put together properly

Value:

It's a reasonably priced piece of equipment.

Overall:

Closed back makes it hard to change tubes or access internals. Sound is as expected from a single 12" speaker and tube voiced circuits.

Great Value, Great Option for Rhythm Guitarists

Features:

This is a simple amp, pretty straight forward so there was no expectation for a plethora of features.  It has everything you need for a single channel tube amp.

Quality:

I am new to tube amps so I can't say whether or not the tubes are the best but as far as the design and look of the amp, seems good to me.  The only exterior parts I would expect to get broken at some point or another would be the corner pieces...unless they are metal or aluminum, I can't tell what material they are.  Knobs are solid, handle is solid, not too heavy, overall quality for me is 8 out of 10.

Value:

Boutique amps are awesome, and have awesomely high price tags as well.  The main reason I purchased this amp was because of the reviews and the demos I watched online.  Having a beast of a tube amp and an additional 12" matching cab for the price is amazing.  I was using a Line 6 Spider III before this, and while it had tons of presets and effects, it holds nothing to this Jet City beast for blues tones.  20 watts is a lot louder than you might think...

Overall:

I have not played out with this yet but I have 2 shows coming up at the  end of the month and I can't wait to unleash the fury.  Last night I cranked it up LOUD and it sounded crisp and sexy, I really couldn't be happier right now with this purchase.  I play rhythm guitar in a blues cover/original band, and for what I need, this is perfect.  I don't rip solos and I don't play a strat, I provide the beef in the songs, so this single channel amp works great.  I have different settings for different songs, and of course you have to utilize the knobs on your guitar to get the tones you want.  I am getting an overdrive pedal but you really don't need one with this amp, it has a wide range of tones and plenty of crunch as it is.

Great Amp

Features:

Needed a bit more presence than my little 5 watt Bugera, and this Jet City JCA2112RC amp does a great job. I stick with the warmer tones, but this amp really loves dirt. Saving for a JCA24s cabinet to round out the picture. Well made equipment at a bargin price.

Good Amp

Features:

Very good amp. Good tones.

Quality:

Been going 9 months without a problem. First one had an issue with shipping. Strange buzz

coming from chassis on certain notes. All tubes slightly pitched in their holders.  exchanged,

this one has been great.  No issues.

Value:

Tube amp for this price. Incredible.

Overall:

Very nice amp. If you like 70's Marshalls, you will love this amp. I either play it clean with the master cranked and a Boss ME-70 for channel switching or punch it in the face with a mid 80's

Rat. Great tones either way. Reverb is o.k. I wanted a compact 1x12 tube amp for times I

don't feel like dragging around a head and 4x12 cab.Plenty of volume. I mic my halfstack always anyway. Will this replace your halfstack. No.

But there are lots of great tones in this little monster.
