Comments about Jet City Amplification JCA2112RC 20W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

After figuring out the nuances of the knobs I was able to get a very good sound. It's the best amp I own out of over 25. I was looking for a replacement for my Epiphone Blues Custom that just wouldn't turn on one day in less than 6 months of use. Hopefully this will last much longer. It has a very good gain section, which the Epiphone did not. I finally found my amp! Now when I go to jam I can compete with the mix AND hear myself.

Comments about Jet City Amplification JCA2112RC 20W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a good affordable tube amp. This amp will not quite produce as nice of a tone as my friend's Crate Voodoo 50. He has an American Tele and plays through a cab with two 12's in it. I am playing a Gretsch Special Jet. I sold my Fender 212R and the Jet City is far superior to the Fender solid state and weighs about 13 pounds less. I get plenty of volume from the Jet City 20 watt. I have only had the amp for two weeks but have been very pleased. It sounds great with my Gretsch and it produces a really nice semi-clean sound that is what I wanted. I play a wide variety of songs for mostly older people and the tone is excellent for my diverse style. I like the fact that I can set it and forget it. It was easy to get nice tones with just the few knobs on the amp and adjusting my guitars controls.
This is the best amp for me right now. Best tube amp for the money!
No cons, but it is fairly heavy. You could say well constructed.

Comments about Jet City Amplification JCA2112RC 20W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp was a replacement because the first one was having issues with the volume. When this exchange amp arrived, the power chord and the manual was missing. It took Musicians Friend 2 weeks to send the power chord after I was told that I would have it a couple days.I was also instructed to down load the manual from a web site that Musician Friend provided in a response email. After the power chord finally arrived I was able use the amp and check it for any problems. So far none have occurred. This amp is limited when it comes to wanting a clean sound with some volume. It's more of a metal amp than a clean sounding jazz, blues of R&B amp.I will only use this amp for practice and not for gigs.

Comments about Jet City Amplification JCA2112RC 20W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Simply put, this amp is fantastic. Sturdy (heavy!), affordable, and best of all it sounds great! I've owned this amp for about a month now, but I've already put it through over 20 gigs and a number of practices. It just keeps sounding better as the speaker gets broken in, and the tone is awesome- running from smooth and warm to fairly high-gain distortion.

                Here's what I like:
-super easy to dial in a bunch of tones.
-LOUD. lots of power in only 20 watts. And, because of the relatively low wattage, you can crank the bejeezus out of it in a small club and have enough volume while achieving maximum tone.
-sounds like the real deal, because it is- the Eminence speaker sings and the tube breakup is very musical and strong- not a lot of compression here- the crunch keeps driving hard no matter how much you crank it and the "presence" knob makes scooping or accentuating the mids easy.

Here's what might be a problem (but not really for me...)
-This isn't really a clean amp... it's not exactly high-gain, but cleans are a bit sterile on their own (to my ear) and have to be achieved by dialing the preamp gain WAY back and cranking the volume. Throw a compressor on there and it works fine, but the amp is more suited to the overdriven sound. But I like that, so it's all good.
-The Reverb is true, tube reverb and it sounds natural, but it's pretty subtle. If you're looking for a long decay, groovy surf type thing, you should use a pedal also. For me, it's not a big deal... I keep the verb at about 12:00 for most stuff and if I want to get crazy I use my delay and/or my reverb pedal.

Overall, I love this amp and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. My pedal board is a MXR MicroAmp -- East River Drive (ts808 copy) -- Compressor -- analog Delay and along with the JC2112 that's all I need to get pretty much every kind of tone I need, from garage/grunge to Country to Stoner Rock. BUY this amp.
