OVERVIEW

Punishing distortion is yours with the Shockwave.

From Jet City comes the Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal, offering monstrous overdrive in a rugged pedal design. The true-bypass pedal sounds great with any amp. With the Overdrive control, your guitar tone goes from lower-gain "British" distortion to full-on hi-gain saturation. The tone knob controls the overall definition of the overdrive, and the volume controls the output level, but be warned, this baby's got a lot of power in it to offer you some bold, heavy overdrive.

Just A No Brainer For The Sale Price! As others have said, it is a worthy addition to your board, it will surprise you, nice flavor in there, gotta tweak for your rig, try driving the output higher than the gain for more chunk--It Works! A True By Pass Pedal at this price point gets my attention!
It does do it better than some old "classic" distortions we have always heard about, had many of 'em, all gone now! Make sure you have a hearty clean channel and dial it full and round first, then punch in the Shockwave and twist around a bit, its in there, you will find it! And sorry my metal brothers, you probably need much more gain, you know why, BUT, a good Strat through the JET can do some nice Blues, Rock and even Country licks, and a Les Paul? Well all the mores so! Go get 'em!

Got this on the Stupid Deal of the Day.......so a good deal. But a slight disappointment. The main issue is on the "Gain" pot........doesn't seem to modify the sound any, except between the three and five o'clock position. Tried it with both single-coil and humbucker guitars........and in both cases, still just a limited window. I really wanted to like this one......it felt really good, and the construction is solid, and I wanted to support our local Seattle product, too. I will continue to check out other overdrive units.....but most likely, I will go back to the MXR Distortion III, which I had in the past, and was satisfied with.

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Solid pedal, true bypass, which is nice. It sounds like a pushed Jet City JCA2112RC. Worth the bucks if you're looking for a ROCK distortion. No metal here, just not enough compression and bite. Sounds great for classic rock too.

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this because it was relatively inexpensive and I was not disappointed in anyway. Sounds like distortion pedals I've used that cost twice as much. You can get a lightly distorted sort of smooth tone all the way to total rock-out crunch with the bad boy! If you're thinking about it, do it!

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is my new favorite pedal. As a long time Pro Co Rat user I've been looking for something that approximates the RAT for a long time as the old ones are no longer available. This pedal is it. If want super saturated metal this is not your pedal, but if you want slightly more than say a Blues Driver can give look no further. What's great about it is it cleans up nicely by just backing off your guitar's volume or the gain on the pedal itself so you really have two pedals in one. Great value for the money from a solid, musician friendly company. Check it out.

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

When I bought this, I knew it wasn't going to be a "top-tier" distortion pedal, but I was hoping it would have good bang-for-buck (as several of the Jet City amps provide) with some SLO-inspired distortion. Instead it's a harsh, grinding affair that I couldn't get a good sound of, despite trying 3 hours' worth of permutations of pedal, amp, and guitar settings. Luckily it was easy to exchange for something I could get a useful sound out of. Maybe if you were going for a super-industrial, grinding sound this might be the pedal for you, but for 97% of folks, this is probably not the pedal you're looking for, even if it's discounted by more than half.

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

The pedal has more than enough gain and sounds very close to a MIAB. For the price, it is a no brainer. If you are looking for a grab and go distortion for jam sessions and/or small projects, this is an affordable option.

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I get great sounds out of this little pedal. Good if your looking for something in this price range. It is more of an overdrive with gain at 50%. Past that it starts to sound more like a distortion pedal.

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Got it for the Stupid Deal for cheap... plugged it in and didn't care for it, at max volume it didn't hit unity with my amps volume and it just sounded, to my ears, to be a low quilty type of distortion... very grainy and no note definition, sorry JC, but not for me. Perhaps i got a defective unit.
Even for the Stupid Deal low price i sent it back and exchanged it for the Seymour Duncan DirtyDeed.

Maybe i expected to much for to little?!

Comments about Jet City Amplification Shockwave Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

If I were on a budget or just starting out, the Shockwave and SD1 would be on my list; and after playing it the Shockwave makes the cut period. I've had $100+ distortions including mods and classics. This thing sounds like a boutique/classic for beer budget.
3 Knobs, 1 switch, 1/4" in & out, standard 9v jack. Everything you need in stompbox, nothing you don't.
Can't believe the quality for the price. It is like a Tubescreamer with more headroom and a nicer box for half the price. I love the vintage knobs and steel box. I sold my TS9 to a friend a few years ago, and this more than replaces it. This is my go to pedal for medium gain saturation. I use a SD1 Keeley mod Over drive and a MT2 & MD2 for heavy gain stuff. This one is my fave of the 4, and the cheapest & best looking too.
Great sound, great look, great price. No buyer's remorse here.
