OVERVIEW

Two highly sought after overdrives plus a beautiful compression all packed into one space-saving pedal.

Introducing the Tone Workstation
The front end of your signal chain–this is where your tone develops. The first stage of amplification is critical for a sound that has clarity and delivers expressive tone. Compression, Drive, Overdrive, Boost: you get it all here. The Tone Workstation is designed to be the first stage in your pedal board. It may even be the only pedal you bring to a gig. And Keeley designed it that way.

Starting with the classic Keeley Compressor, you can build a nice, thick tone full of sustain. Adjust the Sustain control for increased compression or squeeze. As you add sustain, your notes will ring out longer. The Blend control allows for a Manhattan-style compression, keeping the sound lively and crisp as you blend in your natural guitar tone. The Blend control is perfect for adding a little bit of bite back in with high output pickups or humbuckers. In addition, the Treble Boost switch can be engaged to further increase the treble and sparkle into the signal when using lots of compression. When the Blend is set completely CCW, you get only compressed signal out. Then, as you turn up the Blend, you blend in more and more of your original signal, all the way to a 50/50 ratio. The attack and release times are pre-set in this compressor and are set for use with humbuckers or single coils.

Next up is the 1962/Katana Boost section, because the Keeley Workstation gives you plenty of options for your core tone. With the 62/Katana channel, you can select a sound with just the right amount of break up. Or use it in Boost mode, for that clean, pushed amp-style overdrive. First, the 1962 is our British amp-style overdrive, which is full and even sounding with a moderate amount of crunch. Based on the famous Blues Breaker, the 1962 stage has been amplified by our Katana Boost on either side, adding tube-like saturation with our JFET valve simulation. But, decide you just want the famous Katana Clean push? No worries. Just a flick of the switch and you have it: pure clean, tube tone. In the Katana Mode, only the volume works; the Tone and Drive are disabled. It’s a clean sound people say you just can’t turn off.

Last in the chain is our renowned Red Dirt overdrive. You get 15 years of modding tube screamers distilled into one toneful circuit. Also featuring our JFET front end, the Red Dirt has the perfect amount of crucial midrange coupled with the option to go all the way from clean and clear to super-saturated gain, times two! The Red Dirt circuit captures every nuance of your guitar’s tone and delivers a classic, smoking hot, silky smooth lead tone.

The Tone Workstation—reinvented, re-engineered and re-released for 2016—is the final word on your front end. In 2026, you’ll wished you’d grabbed two.

Comments about Keeley Tone Workstation Overdrive Guitar Pedal:

I have been waiting for this unit for months and it was worth the wait!
In the past week I have sold 4 pedals no longer necessary - this pedal does it all - from compression to boost to overdrive to beautifully saturated distortion. I love this pedal! Cannot wait for the Delay workstation to come available. Thank you Keeley.

Comments about Keeley Tone Workstation Overdrive Guitar Pedal:

I wish I had thought of this combination a long time ago. Compressor -> Overdrive (amp in a box) -> TS
I use the compressor for clean lead or slide. I'm very happy with the sound
The OD is possibly my favorite part. I use it into a '65 Princeton and it nails the classic rock sound.
I use the TS as a lead boost for single note playing. This can be used alone, combined with the compressor for lead on slide or combined with the OD for more sustained lead sounds.
Then only negative is that you have to watch where you're stepping due to the size.

Comments about Keeley Tone Workstation Overdrive Guitar Pedal:

Keeley has come up with an excellent pedal here. To me, the real star of this pedal is the treble boost and blend knob option on the compressor, really changes the game on the legendary keeley comp. I had a 4 knob version previously, and never could really bond with it. This, however, has become the base for my tone. The 1962/katana section is great, although I wish there was an option to use the boost with the 1962. That is my only real gripe with the entire pedal. Perhaps having just a boost knob instead of having to switch it out. But I still love the great clean boost from the katana with my mesa, and the 1962 it great for a faux Marshall sound. The "red dirt" section is......well, it's a tubescreamer, what else can you say, really? It does what it's supposed to do. I'm not a huge ts fan, but, it's still very useful for boosting or for that SRV sound. The built is solid, and the size, for the amount of options and the fact that it is 4 pedals in one, is absolutely great. A very small footprint on your board for the amount of tone you get. To be honest, I really think this should be considered a great "bang for your buck" option. Another great job by Mr. Keeley!

Comments about Keeley Tone Workstation Overdrive Guitar Pedal:

Been looking for something to give me more sustain. I have been using a strat with single coil pickups and a Princeton reverb with only a clean channel. I play in a cover band some of the songs require a heavier sound with more gain than my set up would allow. I was using a maxon od 808. Now I add the workstation to my mix and I can sound like I'm a playing an amp with built in gain boosted and a guitar with humbuckers. I have it all with this one truly versatile setup. I can go from stevie ray tone to metallica if I so choose. Thank you this is what I was looking for. finally a boost for clean amps !!!!!!!!!!!!! from not hot enough to too hot. If you are lacking sustain and need more juice this is it, without a bunch of noise. The tone is very pro. Thanks again my 30 years of searching is over, finally.
