Comments about Koch Multitone II 50w Tube Guitar Amp Head:
The addition of seperate volume controls for rhythm and solo channel is a plus and I wonder why there was no thought of it originally.
First let me say that I own the Multitone which Koch does not make anymore but these amps are the same except for the added voicing switches and seperate volume control for the rhythm and solo channel. The clean channel is pristine, clear and full. The second channel has drive control and will give a good crunch for classic rock and blues sounds. The 3rd channel can be dialed in for heavy distortion if you like. I keep it set to about halfway and it's all I need for soloing. I use a Keely Clean Boost for more "clean" sustain at times but you can use the solo channel with no other pedals and have an awesome sound. This amp does truly have great tone and you can get just about any sound you need out of it. It also has a long tank spring reverb which gives you a very deep and beautiful reverb. I originally bought this amp as a backup for my Marshall JCM 900 but that quickly changed. I am running into a Marshall 4-12 cabinet with G12T 75's. Before buying this amp I tried a number of amps on the market. There are of course quite a few great sounding amps out there but this was one of those amps that when you plug in to it you just know without a doubt this is the one.
This is a heavy amp and is built tough.
If you compare this to boutique amps it's a bargin.
