Righteous tube tone and practical versatility.
The Twintone II 50W Amp Head is all about tone. Its clean sounds are rich and well defined. The Accutronics long-can reverb is bright, open, and generously deep. An unusual feature is dual input--normal and bright clean. The latter is designed for use with humbucking pickups and automatically trims excessive mids to create a balanced, very pure clean tone. The overdrive channel has dual gain controls and offers everything from clean with edge, to power crunch, and on to all-out pure saturation with infinite sustain. Special features include a solo/rhythm facility with a potentiometer on the back for setting a rhythm level, so you can footswitch between rhythm level and full volume. Another cool feature is a 0, 25, or 50W power soak so you select the appropriate power level and sound loud without being loud. A serial effects loop, recording out, and headphone output enhance this Twintone's versatility.

Can only confirm, very nice 'warm' cleans, at any level, niceley reacts on the use of your guitar's volume setting, superdynamics and sensetive to your picking, in my opinion the od channel goes from light chrunch to heavy rock, again, leaving your tone controlable by picking and guitarvolume. Perfect amp for small to medium gigs, also the recording-out is perfectly usable.Yes I live in the Netherlands, but I also use US made amps.

This amp has the best sounding clean I have ever heard. It can get jangle like a Fender and the chime of a Vox and the balls of a Bogner. It has tons of head-room, though breaks up great with an attenuator. The dirty is really sparkly-nothing like-at all. With the gain at 3, it is a little dirty and responds well to dynamics. I mean really-when you play softly, it sounds clean and compressed, and when you dig in it grinds! With the gain at 5, it sounds like a handwired Plexi cranked. Anything above that is harmonic bliss. The overdrive becomes like the Randy Rhodes era distortion-not my thing, but very sweet. You really have got to try it to believe it.

This amp is killer. I literally play all styles from classical and jazz to metal and bubble gum pop. This amp can do it all. Great overdrive channel, ridiculous clean. For the OD channel, think anything from just on the verge of breaking up (Bluesy) to classic rock vibes (crunch) to Metallica level (high gain OD), to Randy Rhodes over the top distortion (DS-1 and beyond). The clean can be more mid heavy like a Dr. Z or more chimmy like a Fender.

Before I tried this amp, I tried several others like Dr. Z's, Matchless, Bad Catz, Vox, Boogie...etc. Man, I loved all of them...especially the Dr. Z I tried. I went with this amp though, and man I am really pleased with it. The clean channel can hold its own with any of the others mentioned, very chimey. And the overdrive channel is the holy grail, very sparkly!!! At such a low price, this amp is killer. If it ever breaks, I will buy a new one straightaway.
