I wanted a poly tuner for my acoustic gtr (with pickup) that could also work with my 5 string bass. This one does not measure up however. With my gtr, it does not go into poly tune mode. I am forced to tune 1 string at a time. With the bass, it is difficult to keep it out of poly tune mode. It works OK if you use 12th fret harmonics to tune but it does a poor job picking up the low B string.

Unfortunatley, returning it means I pay shipping both ways!

Comments about Korg Pitchblack Poly Pedal Tuner:

I've been in the market for a new pedal tuner for a while, but i have a problem with the big money some companies are asking for them. My old ibanez TU-20 was good, but just had too big a footprint on my board, and i wanted to try something polyphonic. Got this when it was the stupid deal for cheap. Ive only used it at a few rehearsals so far, but its been good. No alteration in tone. i run it second in my chain after my wah, powered by a pedal power 2. the polyphonic feature is great for a quick check of all strings. then if you notice 1 string out of tune, play that single string and it zeros in on that string and you can fine tune from there. its super lightweight, to the point that I wonder about its durability, but i havent owned it long enough to see if thats an issue or not yet.

Comments about Korg Pitchblack Poly Pedal Tuner:

I enjoyed it for the summer. First s hiss would form whether the tuner registered a note. Even from the tuner out on my amp. Then the button became non responsive. When we unplugged it, we had an audible change in the tone. This blows cause now I'm hesitant to buy korg again.

It is pretty cool to tune all strings at once, but the precision is not the same as the boss tu-3. Comparing the price its a great deal.

Comments about Korg Pitchblack Poly Pedal Tuner:

I was eager to try this product and when I saw it under the "Stupid Deal of the Day" I had to take a chance. I have not been disappointed. Korg makes very nice products and this pedal is sturdy and compact.

I have tried polytuners before, but I play both a Martin acoustic and a Warwick bass; no polytuner has been able to properly tune my 5-string bass. Until this one. Very satisfied!

All I can say is WOW! Too cool for the price I paid. Instant and accurate tuning. Strum it, tweak it, right back to playing. No more playing one note at a time to tune. Strum the strings open and instantly see what's out of tune and how much. Very awesom

While it may not be bright enough for direct sun, it worked well enough at my last outdoor gig. The display is large enough to easily read too.

Comments about Korg Pitchblack Poly Pedal Tuner:

Very pleasantly surprised with the accuracy, ease of use and stability of this tuner. I was skeptical that polyphonic tuning would be stable enough to use but it does work nicely and is a big time saver on stage. I like to travel light and having this robust tuner keeps me from having to carry two or three guitars for detuning and open tuning.
Musicians Friend sales was excellent as well.

This is a nice tuner. I find it a bit difficult to use the "poly" tune mode, but it does allow you to see which string(s) need a tweak quickly. The strobe tuner mode works best for me and seems to be accurate. The LED display works great in low light situations.
