I bought this cabinet and let me say this thing is amazing. I play through a peavey jsx and a 6505 plus. This cabinet brings the best out of these heads. You can crank it up and the speakers wont buckle or crackle. IT has an enormous bottom end and can handle the highs just as well. The clean sounds really good too. Another nice feature is the grill. You can pop it right off without having to undo a ton of bolts. The thing is solid. I will have to admit i was hesitant on buying a speaker cab made of poplar, because i wanted a birch cab, and i was also shaky on eminence speakers because for years i been a celestion guy. but once i played through my cousins krank cab i was sold and through experience in my opinion this cab is better than any marshall or mesa. And ive played through both. Not to mention everythings made in the usa no outsourcing going on. hands down in my opinion (i keep stressing because certain people like certain things) this is the best cab on the market. Im in the process of ordering another one so i can have a full stack set up. Overall though great cab i give it a 10

I bought this cabinet to match the Krankenstein+ head. All of the reviews say "it's the best sound", and "tons of low end". The reality is that the Texas Heat speakers make everything sound like mud. Even after turning the bass to zero it still has way! too much low end. I did some recording with this cabinet using Two mics SM7B and SM57. perfect cone placement, phase aligned, and isolated the cab. With the bass at zero it still was overloading the monitors. I had to use a EQ to cut out the low end, and even in mixing, I was forced to chop more low end out! I spent two years trying to convince myself (and others) that I just hadn't found It's "sound" yet. One day, a friend of mine and I swapped heads to see what would happen. I put my Krankenstein+ through his Mesa cab, and he put his Engl Powerball through the Krankenstein cab.... My amp suddenly sounded AMAZING! All of the mud was gone and the tone was fantastic. When my friend started to play, it sounded terrible! THIS CAB MADE AN ENGL SOUND BAD!!! Simply put, good construction, great looks, but the Texas Heats are GARBAGE!

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

I am not sure what the one review was talking about with saying this amp was "too muddy". Sounds like somebody didn't know how to set up their amp right. I have NEVER heard a bad review from a single person that has played through or heard this amp. I have owned mine since '06, and know a lot of people who wished they had switched when they had the chance. Unfortunately, Krank is now defunct, so it's become an Easter egg hunt online for these beauties.

I have used this amp for recording, and the tone generated from my Krankenstein and my lead guitarist's Uberschall has been the buzz of many a listener. We used to get a ton of compliments on our tone. Today, I still have people who occasionally ask if they can use my amp in studio, and always get lots of compliments when I play live. This amp is immensely versatile - the clean tone is pristine, and the overdrive is highly adjustable - from a country rock distortion to death metal, it will do the job excellently. It also stays tight in the lower ranges. Being someone who utilized both 6 and 7 string guitars through the years, I can testify that this thing sounds just as good in drop A as it does in high E. Solos scream on this amp too. No freaky frequencies or wonky tones in the high ranges like some cheaper and middle-of-the-road amps suffer from. It also doesn't get lost in the mix when playing with another guitarist and bassist. It has it's own identity, but still melds well with other quality amps.

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

Exceptional tone for metal. Ported on the front for great bass response and shines in larger venues. A perfect match for JSX. Absolutely blew me away the first time I used one live and I bought my own the next week. Replaced Vader Carnage Strain 2x12. Not my first 4x12 but definitely my last. I always kinda hated the sound of my ltd V through my rig before but this cabinet has breathed new life into my sound and my playing. I am now able to keep my amp at a reasonable volume on stage and it has totally cleaned up our live sound.

Sound's great with Peavey 6505+

By Kenova

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

Great cabinet! I used to play my 6505 through a carvin cab with carvin speakers and I thought it sounded good. When I purchased the krankenstein my tone and sound multiplied by 10! Amazing booming low end for chunky stuff and very defined for high soloing stuff etc etc! Recommend to serious musicians! Only complaint is that it is a little pricey but all nice cabinet's are so it's not really a big deal.

Krank Texas Cab

Ask me a question

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

I ended up buying two Fender 5150 III heads with no regrets. I use two of these Krank Cabinets and one EVH Cab with the Greenbacks for a little dirt in the center. The Eminence Texas Heat Speakers seem to have a little less decay compared to the Green Back 30's. I am really pleased with the over all sound. My signal is so High Gain anyway I wanted a little bit of a cleaner speaker. It's a larger Cabinet and it's sound is quite thick and feels great! These Krank Cabs will make any system sound very nice. Overall though I gave it a 4.5 because I wish they used Grill cloth instead of that Cage for better shelter for the paper cones over time. So I might make my own from Foam for higher volumes or some kind of grill cloth custom style to shelter the speakers from elements through time. The cage is a little bit bare.

Krank is the best but...

By Kory Hodge

from Michigan

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

I think krank amps are the best, part of my dream set-up but, for just the cab I don't think a thousand dollars. That's just too much. I've played them at Guitar Center and I'd love to have them but I could buy a Gibson custom for four of these cabs. In the end semi worth the money but the best amps you can buy!

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

All I can say about this amp is that if I had a dream amp designed, Krank Amplification did a better job. I have played on many amps and this is the best I've played. I dont think it can get a heavier sound than what it had already. Created for PURE METAL in my eyes.

The BEST Amp Around!

By Who me?

from Austin, TX

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

I've owned this amp and cab for over a year now and it'll go to the grave with me. I've had and used other amps but nothing like this! It has so many possibilities you can go from growling blues to Dime rip your face off with the footswitch. It does put out a lot of feedback if you're too close or loud, duh, but it's easy to get used to adjusting for that. It has great tone, punch and very quiet without a lot of buzzing. I have never had one problem with it, it's got top of the line construction. The people that complain about sound etc. comes from them just buying the head and putting their sound thru cheap, unmatched speakers..this is a package, and it works! Just remember to warm it up on standby for awhile before you start wailing on it (as with all tube amps) and it'll last you a lifetime.

krank addict

By Swamp Dawg

Comments about Krankenstein 4x12 Speaker Cabinet:

I have a mesa boogie rectifier and a marshall 1960 cabinet and while loving the crisp attack I was missing the low end growl. I got the krakenstien a couple of days ago and now have the sound thats been in my head for years. This cabinet is awesome. If you want that gut wrenching growl tone in your bottom end crunch like the late great dime himself. this could be your cab. It is for me. RIP DIME
