I just picked this amp up off of this site and was blown away when I plugged in and played. Everything you've heard about this is true. I'm not gonna get into the specs you can check out Krank's website for that but I'll can say this much. The gain is untouchable!!! It blows Marshall, Boogie, and anything else you can throw at it away. I was a true Marshall guy until I Played this amp today. The gain is really versatile. It can play anything from modern metal, to Tallica and Pantera, to classic rock and the blues. The mid boost for the lead is explosive and cuts right threw the sound. Playing with the EQ on this amp makes a huge difference for the sound as oppposed to many other amps. Guys, this shit even sounds fierce played at low vloumes!!! Not that you're gonna want to play low once you hear it...the f'in thing is really addictive!!!!! The clean channel sounds really good. Its a nice thick, creamy, clear bright sound. However the ONLY thing about this amp that I dont like is that it has no reverb for the clean channel. So the clean sound is a little dry, but a bit of Chorus and a touch of delay cleared up that problem real quick. It sounded amazing after ran those pedals through the effects loop. So, the moral of the story is this. Sell your sister, hock your mom's jewelery. Do whatever you gotta do. Just buy this amp!!! For **** bucks it's a steal. There is nothing better than this amp on the market for Metal/hard rock/rock players!!! Good luck and may the Krank be with you.....

I've owned this head with the matching revolution cabinet for about 3 months now. This is my first tube amp, and overall I've been fairly satisfied with it. There really aren't too many features, and I think it's overpriced, but it's a nice tube amp with a punchy sound. With that being said, however, there really are so many other tube amps that are flat out better for a fraction of the price. This thing sounds great for heavy de-tuned chugging power chords, but for any sort of single notes the amp doesn't let them sing at all. Plus, it really shows through when you make a mistake in your playing. :/

The Greatest Amp On The Planet

By krank addict369

from chicago IL

I boght my amp 6 months ago and just love it. i love this amp so much that only im allowed to touch it but me.the revolution's krank channel is amazing it picks up every thing on the guitar, if theres even a bit of fret buzz it will come through this tells me that the guitars naturall sound and how its set up is critical. Most tube amps have weird gain that makes your guitar tone sound artificial this has none of that. the revolutions kleen channel is amazing and your affects like a different distortion really come through nice. A lot of great bands are endorsing krank amps and i strongly belive that the revolution will be a sought after amp like any old 60's 70's and 80's amps. buy one and own a piece of history and tone that most consider it to be the 5150 of our time.

Addicted to Krank!

By xstompinxgroundsx

from Torrance,Ca

I recently picked up this amp and was I amazed! I play in a hardcore band so I wanted something heavy but not I didn't want your typical Marshall or Peavey 6505 so I went with this Krank. Everything about this amp is amazing. The Krank channel and the clean channel. Its really heavy but you can hear every single note being hit. Definantly worth the money. Pick this amp up. As the old saying goes, "you get for what you pay" you will definantly be satisfied.

Amazing high gain brutality

By sirchade33

from Utah

I've had my Krank Rev10 for 6 months now and it's gone across the entire continental Unites States with me. The foot pedal broke rather quickly, but I'm really hard on gear so I can excuse that. The amp itself sounds phenomenal. I own a Marshall DSL50 and a Peavey 5150II and the Krank has more definition in the clean and gain stages. I run mine with a MXR 10 band eq pedal to perfectly dial in my exact tone. I've compared this Krank side by side to my friends Mesa Dual Rectifier and we BOTH agreed that the gain and clean was better! I wish there was a separate foot switch to control the effects loop, but aside from that the the amp is perfect.

HOLY DISTORTION BATMAN!

By Krank Killer

from England

This amp is loud, in your face metal distortion at its best. The louder this thing goes, the better and more crunchy it sounds. The distortion is super heavy but "clean" meaning you can have palm muting crunch as well as clean distorted leads with out changing the EQ.BUY THIS AMP...IT RULES...

Best tone of my life but be patient and experiment

By ShredHead-h4roS

from Chicago

I have to say this amp is really incredible. I bought the amp without playing it first, but I have to say it was not a letdown at all. It did however take a while to get it to sound optimal. The sweep knob does so much to the tone that you really have to experiment to get the best sounds. I love the way that the amp sounds and how it handles low end. There is so much chunk and it is so defined and articulate. The amp is kind of like a 5150 with more harmonics, and a tighter low end.

Expensive but awesome

By MasterMickey

from Massachusetts

I have always wanted a krank but I never could use one because its to expensive and no stores have it. I've have heard people play it and it is the best sound I've ever heard. You can easily understand how to set it to your settings from the knobs. I would reconmend this amp for anybody who can afford but if you have a low budget then go with a cheaper amp

FEELING KRANKY IS GOOD!

By WHONEEDSABAND?

from PHOENIX AZ, CITY OF NO COMPETITION

Went to my local music store along with my home-made effects pedalboard and Guild Aviator guitar, plugged in and WOW, unbelievable! First, I tried out the Kleen channel as a preliminary test. In my mind, if an all-tube amps clean sound is awesome, half the battle is won. My Guild is a metal / Stevie Ray Vaughn style guitar, meaning as I checked each tone of its 5-way p/u switch, from the humbucker and single coil pull up tone control, to the two single coils ahead of it, the Krank responded with vintage tones from tube heaven. Next I fired up the Metal Zone pedal, and KABOOM, fusion reactor metal with a touch of steamroller bottom end. Dimebag would (is!) proud. Krank ran the gauntlet of my pedals and delivered sweetness to nastiness par excellent. Lastly, the channel selector foot switch to prod its "natural" saturation Master 1-2. From a bluesy rhythm to lead, and into the death metal abyss. Krank even got an audience as all in the store came over to believe what they were hearing. I'm buying this little monster today.

LOUD!!!! Incredible AMP!!!

By Ibanezfreak-zHogo

from Santa Cruz

This amp is impressive and LOUD!!! while searching for a good amp I tried the peavey JSX and Marshall Jvm the distortion does even comes close to the revolution, the cool feature about this amp is the Sweep knob. With the sweep knob you could shape the voice of the distortion. The clean channel sounds crystal clear.

Great amp for metal

By Scales

from Arizona

I used to play through a Randall Warhead (solid state) and recently bought a Boss GT Pro to find my perfect tone. Unfortunately the Warhead, though it is a good amp for the price, has a pretty ugly clean tone and sounds very muffled. No amount of tinkering with the GT Pro could make it sound professional. So I decided to get a tube amp to get a really nice clean yet aggresive sound. Enter the Krank Revolution. The difference was like black and white, the Krank did exactly what I wanted. The amp's natural gain is nice but the GT Pro really brought it to life since the Krank has an incredible clean channel to drive the effects. I rated it lower on features because the options are very simple, and you must use the footswitch to change channels. I also rated it lower in value because it is not a cheap amp by any means. However I made up for the score in overall quality because though it is expensive, it is an awesome head and if you are into metal it will do what you want it to do. Its very loud with no background noise or hum, and it has that awesome tube sound we all look for. For a professional hi gain distortion I recommend mixing this amp with something like the GT Pro, however its natural gain is pretty brutal and will work for most metal guitarists on its own.
