I tried several different small amps made by different manufacturers before I bought this amp. I needed a small amp to take on small venue part-time jobs and demo sessions. I am not new to gear as I have been around for over 35 years now playing for fun to income, from home to stage to studio. Money was not the issue for me here either in my search, it was "full rich tone" and the amp had to be light weight, well made and easy to maintain. I must say that I was amazed to actually find three small good sounding amps that fit into what I was needing. I tried out a Fender, Roland and this little gem. Of the three amps I found that fit my quest that I liked, this amp to me had the best all around sweetest, richest and clearest tone. The speaker in mine says it was made by Emmenence in Kentucky and even turned up full it sounds full and balanced with no brittleness or harshness. The overdrive channel is good with some tweaking, I prefer to just use my RP500 pedal board though. I even used this amp "miked up" on stage one night in a pinch. No one in the band knew the difference through the show and were floored when they saw it afterwards. It did such a good job that night that I used it in the studio the next day and it sounded Fantastic on tape! The DART 10 is an Excellent product, this amp is rugged and built to last, sounds fantastic and gives you a great value for your money. How often does that happen?
I have an older model of this amp. Its a good amp for beginners but the distortion on it sucks. If your decent at guitar, get a better amp. At only 10 watts it can hardly be heard with a drummer.
I've had this amp ever since I started playing about three years ago. At first, I thought the distortion was ok but then I played my friends Roland micro cube, and was blown away at how much better the distortion was. If you are just starting out or can't afford much, this amp would be ok, but if you have enough you should get the peavey vypyr 15 watt. Or just get a decent ditortion pedal, because this isn't that great for palm muted notes or tremolo picking on low strings. The clean channel is very good for the price.
I have this amp and for this price range the tone is unmatched! The distortion is good for ac/dc or old school metal. If you like the growling stuff you might need a pedal...Overall if you are just starting out or need a cheap amp this is it! It blows Peavey away!! Stay away from Peaveys Newbies.
I just bought this amp because my Jay Turser died on me, I'm a student and a cook, so I have a rather tight budget. I went to the local shop and picked this up. I've used my roomate's Line6 spiderIII and this amp's tone blew it out of the water. Buy it.
It's a good amp for quiet practice, or writing with your singer in a quiet room like I do, my friend gave this to me for nothing, he just didn't want it anymore, but I use it when it's late at night and my mom sleep so she doesn't hear it through our paper thin walls, The tones nice, the distortion is kinda lame, but I always use pedals anyways.
I got this amp last christmas and have played it at least an hour a day everyday. this amp is good for people who have never played a guitar, but after a month or two it got real old. this distortion is decent and the clean mode is good but there is no bass nob, so it is really hard to play deep metal.
I bought this amp because I needed a cheap new amp. I wasnt expecting much, BUT when I first heard this amp in action, I was amazed. I have already dropped it down the stairs, and twice while carrying it, and it is still as good as new. The distortion isn't the best but it is good. Overall, this is a must buy, if you are looking for a quick deal on a practice amp. BUY NOW!
